Ive got mine coming in. I was going to get two but they came out with that new set the tune up box so I think I am going to get that instead of the 2nd one.

It sounds like the problem might be the second gear (idle gear I think they call it), snapping in and out against the case, which might be remedied by putting the pinion gear on backwards to keep it more or less against the case.

The other option is that the rear axle might be dirty or the wheels themselves may be scraping against the chassis every so often.

If a little clicking is the most of your problems I wouldn’t worry about it. Between the incessant gear mashing noise, the motor whine, and other issues, it sounds like you have few real problems, unlike my 9 cars…

Toy East in the Ferrari section, they’re yet another set of clones available in Red, Yellow & Silver if you can get any as they always sold out really quickly and I haven’t seen them listedfor sale recently.

The small pinion gear and 2.2 motor mean they don’t drive that fast with one battery, but two batteries and they have some nice speed+power and are able to drive up slopes well.

I don’t yet own a Bit Char-G as i’m still deliberating on which model to import. I’m also trying to decide between allegedly more reliable Toy East (who don’t seem to have a lot of stuff in stock) or HobbyLink Japan. Either way, though, i’ll probably pick up a Lancer WRC body – they’re too good to pass up :smiley2:

That said, for anyone who doesn’t already know it, the sweet looking Toyota Supra is due out any day now. If memory serves, the official Japanese release date is July 18, so it’s only a matter of time before online retailers start offering it. Is anyone else here tempted by Tomy’s upcoming offering?

I’ve ordred other anime toys (not Bit Char-G) from HLJ and it was such a hassle. They’re site specifically says that if the item is listed in bold it is in stock. When I placed my order for all the items I wanted in bold, most of them were on backorder. They held my entire order until everything came in, which took a few months. Trying to contact them via email is liking trying to pull teeth. I couldn’t get anyone on the phone nor did anyone answer my emails in a timely manner.

If you would like better service, descent pricing, and quicker delivery times here in the states, try http://www.jdmtoys.com I’ve bought some Bit Char-G toys and accessories from them and had a pleasurable experience. Tell them Brandon sent you over.

Wow, I thought I was one of only a few with a stuffed up car, I don’t think anyone else posted about faulty Char-Gs, but judging from your experience, the problem must be alot worse than I first thought.

Or maybe you just had some rotten luck. Either way, I’d still like to think that the majority of the chinese manufactured cars are of high quality.

I feel, so happy and warm inside that I help someone out. This is a great online community.

Well – after 2 x Blue Skylines, I finally took your advice, Wille, and got myself the Yellow S-2000.

Out the packet – it Cranks! forwards, backwards and ultimate reception from the transmitter.. (my first skyline wouldn’t go backwards.. the second wouldn’t receive signals..)

    BUT!

The rear drivers-side wheel was not fitted to the axle correctly! my Honda needed it’s first wheel alignment!(it was so crooked, it was bashing against theblack frame. Luckily, my dodgy 2nd skyline had a great set of rear wheels, so i swapped them over! now she’s sweet!

what is it with the dodgy manufacturing of these vehicles? all 3 i have purchased from different K-Marts throughought Melbourne have ALL been dodgy.

is it because they think kids will be playing with them and it doesn’t matter if it’s not straight, or doesn’t respond well? anyway, i’m happy (for now) and will keep you all updated on the status of my new yellow S-2000. Hope to see you all in some state races soon – gotta get some bodies + motors from O/S !!

    Thanx for your help.

    O.

    Welcome aboard, McWizardree!

Haven’t heard any whispers from the local distributor yet regarding upgrade parts and accessories. However, mindful of the investment costs in a new product line, they’re probably taking a “suck it and see” approach to their commitment.

I have no doubt that if the product continues selling at the frantic pace it is at the moment, they’ll expand the product line accordingly (more cars and accessories). Remember, these things can happen slowly – especially when the distributor is dealing with a group-wide buyer like K-Mart or Toyworld.

Fingers crossed! In the meantime, if you need parts (suspension kits, tyre sets, gear sets etc) just drop Aaron a line as he’s holding a number of kits in stock in Canberra.

yeah- if you could post more pics of the chassis, I’m very interested as you might notice.. I’ve found a number of ways to do it, but would love to see other people’s extended chassis.

I have more precise numbers but I won’t have them compiled into a decently understandable format till i finish my current cad project. I don’t know if any of this will help. Based upon the general look of the car, you’ve got plenty of room to work. I picked a convertible because (it looks good) it has to have a very low profile and at the same time, have an open seat area which i wanted to keep even if i decided to swith bodies, thus allowing some bit of interior detailing.

Prabbit, check this out, I made a twin charger for my two 2 battery Ferrari’s:

They’re both evenly matched on the speed but I’m going to have to make the steering on the silver one worse, the turning circle is too small and it keeps flipping over when turning. :smiley1:

I got a couple of those padded cases for ?3 a few weeks back and cut the foam up to hold the controllers, the two charging sockets were taken from the controllers and superglued (I hate those fumes) ontothe underneath of the 3 AA battery holder, there’s no problem with charging both cars at the same time due to the high ampage the NiMH AA batteries produce.

We also own 2.6 and a 3.0 Motor.

The 3.0 Motor doesn?t run ass smooth as the 2.6 does, PLUS it isn?t really faster !!!

I also own a Loctite SpecialEd-Bit, with the 2.6 and the blue gears(8,.:1).

It has more torque, runs very smooth, battery lives longer, and it?s (maybe) faster then my friends Impreza with 3.0motor and orange gears (9,..:1)
