It?s not cheap non the less, but of way better quality as Dremel.

Already tried alot on custom bodies with it.

I just bought a 2.6 today from a hobby shop down the street. I like it a lot better than the 2.2. The car now goes faster and can finally climb my slopes.

…and are there any Dremel-copies that are also worth considering? The reason I ask is that the basic Dremel kit down here is in the vicinity of AUD160.00(!!) Eeeeek!

It is an extended chassis. Uhm I would have to ask my brother in law about the body.

Could you post some more pics of the body/chassis? It looks like you extended the chassis to fit the body similar to my 1/64 scale conversions… Maybe I’m way off base, but I’m interested- aslo, is the body molded from another toy/converted/or just a scratch build?

I just got a 3.0 official motor and had a 3.8 that never worked good so i took it apart and worked on the brushes, but it never fit together again well…

my impression of the 3.0 feels like a 2.2 on startup, but the topspeed is a bit faster.

the 3.8 seemed to have a lot higher startign speed even, but when any strain was put on it it would coume to a complete stop almost sometimes and also had issues with sticking at points on the rotor, needing to be moved sometimes if the car came to a stop in just the right position (happened pretty often). thus I wouldn’t recommend the 3.8, but the 3.0 is a nice motor so far. My 2.6 and 1.6 are still on order a the moment so I’m not sure how they compare.

I just quit my job so I might have to head back to NZ where cool RCs are next to impossible to get hold of. You think Auz is hard – try living at the end of the world!

Hey Owen, I had the EXACT same problem as you (poor reversing) on my silver Honda S2000, as well as poor transmitter range. So i swapped it back and got a yellow S2000 instead and it’s GREAT!

They are the exact same as the Bit Char-gs only made for Australia and Europe, they’re manufactured by Tomy.

JNH will most likely distribute other models to retailers (they’re so popular here!), but I’m not sure about other frequencies.

Then again I’m just a newbie who did a lot of research.

Here at my work, we have a number of quick-set courses that we set up on our board table for lunchtime or “quiet moment” racing :smiley4:One of these tracks has a number of small jumps and tunnels constructed from 200gsm cardboard.

Assuming 9.86:1 gearing and standard battery config:

1.0 Motor – No hope. Simply rolls over the end of the firstramp and plummets to its death in a most unstylish fashion

2.0 Motor – No hope of clearing any sort of significant distance, but it does generally jumpclear ofthe end of the firstramp enough to land on its wheels and continue on the desk below.

2.2 Motor – on a typical desktop circuit (ie limited “run up” area) this is my favourite car for “ramp to ramp” jumps. Can easily negotiate a 20degree inclineramp setup (on both sides) with a gap of a couple of inches.

2.6 Motor – Can clear 2-3 inches *IF* there is enough room (2-3 metres)for it to get a decent run-up and wind outits motors

3.0 Motor – Weeeeeeeee! But you’ll need either a HUUUUUGE desk or downhill course to allow it to get up to speed before the jump.

Yeah – if you’re going to have a practice “mod”, the OEMs are probably a good place to start. Good quality battery – lower cost if you butcher it badly :smiley2:

I hadn’t intended these to be the final version yet actually, just more of a draft I was considering to get (possible) interest in making some set of rules while i put together a small site to promote them and also serve as a little store for my mass-produced mod parts.

QFM has set up some drag racing rules (down atm, but hopefully up soon), that might be helpful in assembling these rules.

Haha cool advert,if/when the UK start advertising them I hope to be able to get a copy, I tape saturday morning cartoonsto watch in the afternoon when I’m awake (hey I like Buzz Lightyear & Lloyd In Space ) and inbetween the ‘toons the adverts are packed with expensive toy ads, if there’s a Compact Char-G ad they’ll definitely show it during that timeslot.

not really. the only ways to get it to actually clear a jump and not stumble would probably be the dbmod, or a downhill style course. just take out the motor. not too sure how fast it’ll go tho, cuz ive never tried it, but you could probably just add some small weights into the engine compartment if its going too slow.

Hi again i know the response to mi first question, i have bad luck the tt tree only are in 27 and 45 frequency and my booster is 45 but i will buy two tt tree with 2.6 engine and a bullet for try the dual battery.

There is nothing wrong with ordering from overseas,I too ordered toys (not Bit Char-G) from HLJ and it took forever to get. By the time I got it, and the amount I had to pay for freight, I’d rather just buy it from someone here in the states.

As for their stock, they had everything I wanted ready to ship. More so than other online retailers.

It seems that I have stumbled upon a really great community and I just wanted to share my experience with this company. It is ultimately up to you whether or not you decide to purchase from them.

If you buy Bit Char-G all accessories are about $5. I dealt with HLJ originally, they were always out of stock and it took forever for delivery. I would rather pay an extra few dollars than wait over 2 weeks for my stuff from Japan. Also, then yen has gotten stronger so the dollar is not as strong.
