I was emailed the photo from *******@gamewatch.impress.co.jp and I figured I’d got an exclusive :smiley3:. I’ll be mildly pissed if I find out he’s sent it to every other site in the cosmos. LOL!
Impress is a division Tomica that deals predominantly with electronic devices including watches and the ole “Game and Watch” devices from the 1970/80s (anyone remember them!?)
Anyway…. back to regular programing….

(Only 1hr 45mins to the weekend….hooray!)
Here’s a roadmap for Sprinfield (complete with music).
And someone is making Lego-sized Simpsons figures, but I couldn’t find them in a quick online search.
The OEM Bullet cars contain 150mah NiMH batteries, someone has reportedly charged their one up with a peak charger, took 30 minutes to charge and ran for 40 minutes… had to get 2 friends to help out with the running down of the battery hehe
All we need now is Lego to produce a set of radio controlled lego men for our little Springfield as their figures are the right colour 🙂
I read a Japanese site somewhere (with the help of Babelfish) where they replaced the pin with a screw so they could easily remove the front wheels.
Actually we were watching BB Uncut at a friends place – sinking Crownies (well i wasn’t – I was driving) 🙂
I’ll see what can be done!

Firstly – welcome to the forums. FANTASTIC first post, too!:smiley15:
Just a reminder that geocities doesn’t allow direct-linking to images hosted on its servers – you need to put up a Geocities-hosted .html page with a link in that.
Alternatively, feel free to email me the image and I’ll hang it off our image server for you.

YOU CAN TAKE THE WHEELS OFF THE AXLES!
I learned the hard way but here’s how you do it.
Disassemble entire front end like they’ve told you so far so you have the wheel, axle and steering knuckel all together. Now, take a block of good wood, 2X4 will work. Drill a 1/8″ hole in the wood (large enough for the axle to go through but small enough to hold the wheel on top of the wood). Take your wheel and put the outside of the wheel flat down on the wood and use a jewlers screwdriver and small hammerto hit the axle out from behind. The axle pops out and wheel comes off. Now you can go buy some hot wheels, take the wheels off, drill the axle hole out, face them to proper width and put them on your car! Check out the rims on my Digi-Q. I haven’t put anything good on my Bit Char-g yet but I had to take the wheel off for other technical difficulties. Trust me, this trick works great. Then to put them back on, you just use pliers and squeeze the axle back in the steering knuckle. Piece of cake!

Glad this is helping some of you! It will probably be a few weeks before I get up the energy to make some more segments (This adventure cost about 7 hours of my weekend), but I’ll be sure to post some more pics when I do. I just got back from the electronics store and have purchased some LED lights and a watch battery, so I’ll be playing with that this weekend!

STORMINCOW
that almost looked japanese derek
As long as those swivel chairs have tilt and a bit char g logo i’d buy one. I ordered a bunch of initial D anime which should be cool. get me in the mood for my initial D set.

*before you make fun of someone, walk a mile in their shoes. that way, you are a mile away and you have their shoes.* – handy
Thanks for the tips, stormincow. Now I know I’m not gonna try cutting the foam. Maybe just use it as a base.
I’m afraid of the price….:smiley3:
Thanks, Mcojoc! I’ll be watching this mod closely! Once you’ve done your testing can you please advise
- “Before” length (from where towhere?)
- “After” length (from where towhere?)
- The car frequency
[/list]
The last item is arguably the most important if we’re going in search of replicatable results.’Tis all about thecorrelation between frequency and the length of the antenna required to receive a complete wavelength.
Oh – just be careful now that you’ve removed that knot. Lots of folks (me included) use the antenna to pick up the car from the track during the heat of a racing battle. That knot, of course, acts as a strain relief to prevent the antenna being ripped from the PCB.
But then…. if you find there’s a big benefit in removing the knot, then I’m sure I could modify my pit stop method :smiley2:
Cheers
Derek
Hey I like how you clamped the Foam Cutter…!
And the track looks nice.

Pity those links dont load, Derek… Actually, the smiley’s pop-up box didn’t load either, nor the post preview!…
Maybe the graphics directory(s) are hosed?…
?
Edit: Late News Edition…
Belay that sentence, above… The sight has now come good… Maybe BPA was screwing around, maybe your site was in the middle of a backup when I came along…
Who knows…
But it works now…
As does the smiley pop-up…
:smiley8:
Alot of people have been clamoring for them (TOMY) to release a track system. Guess it will see fruition.:smiley4:
Me looks at above photos and thinks, WOW it’s a bit tiny for anything over the 1.0 motors.
I tried the puzzle piece route for some of my tracks, but getting a large number of peice to be cut correctly is a much larger pain than I was willing to take on. A Die Cutter would be nice for this.

ps. Hey MOE! BURRRRRRP Pass me another Duff.
Derek, where do you find this info at?
…now we just need Moe’s Tavern.
Thank you! Come again!
…and most importantly – you don’t get the tires (tyresfor our Aussie and English friends) stretched out of shape!
Top tip, Mcojoc :smiley15:

Bloody good idea – sounds like something for the ausmicro.com homepage, so we can all wet our pants with anticipation each time we visit :smiley2:
W0000T!
Will discuss with Aaron tomorrow. It’s almost 10pm here in Oz and I don’t thing his lovely GF would appreciate me ringing him during what would be, I guess, nightime TV cuddle-time. LOL! :smiley8:

StorminCow
I have learned a LOT from this post and you’ve given me some more great ideas for my next track. Your 2″/8″ system is a good size and should allow for fast straights racing with someterrifying hairpins!
Wouldn’t it be great if we (the forum members of all these differentChar-G communities) could get together and formalise something like this as a “standard”. Then manufacturers could eventually release track kits and accessories to suit.
Oh…to dream :smiley14:
Great work once again, StorminCow – next time I’m in the USA, the racing is on at your place (you supply the track and I’ll bring the beer!)
Derek
I just spotted something else…in the picture at the beginning of the thread, the dates are there too! So the date for the Honda NSX-R body set is…
July 25, 2002
Derek/Aaron – maybe you can set up a countdown to new parts :smiley2:
So that means the order will be EVO body, Supra, NSX-R body, Castrol Supra body, Skyline set (I guess we get three cars with this?).
The NSX-R car set should be coming out some time this month (according to HLJ).
Mcojoc
If you can email me the set of photos, I will host them on ausmicro.com for you and update your post to display the images.
Just email me them at derek@ausmicro.com
Thanks and regards (and I’m REALLY looking forward to seeing what mischief you’ve been up to :smiley2:)
Derek
You said if anyone would like to see those pics let you know and i for one am intesively excited to see that exactly what i was thinking and asking for derek to do to his OEM cars you did before him so now i kno what to get and how to fix my problem. My problem had been posted all over this site and a couple other forums too about how i needed another magnet rod and was wondering if the OEM would work, you solved it all. Please when you have a chance get those pics up or send them straight to my e-mail addie: Snowboardr101387@cox.net
Thanks a lot, Dave
