I contacted Hobbico and they expect to get the Microsizers June 20th.
David
Firstly, just wanted to clarify that we’re talking about the same part, just for starters:

Now – the challenge – to find some high tensile, fine sprung wire suitable to make a replacement spring. You MIGHT have some luck with your local hardware store or…..
“To the video cabinet, Batman!” I just had a brain-fart and for God-knows-what-reason, I thought of the guts of a VHS video cassette. Just tore into an old South Park video (got em all on DVD now) and guess what I found?
You’ll still need a bit of patience and a pair of wire cutters, but at least you’ll have the right material (or something pretty bloody close).
Lemme know how you go!
Derek
(Off to bed after that mental explosion)funnily enuff my capacitor in my unit (35mhz)was connected to theresistor next to the one in the fotos.. i dunno.. i pulled it out anyways for similar results oh and the cap had a 22 and a black dot on it, not 10 as i noticed in the pics.. bizzaro..
It has to be an extremely thin wire…
…what about a single-wire strand from the inside of a phone wire?
Thanks for the update, I’ve done a general “search and delete” all things “ausmicro” in my cache (didn’t want to do the whole thing), however, no luck so far. I’ll do the drastic delete the lot tomorrow but will hope that logging out tonight and back in tomorrow might do the trick (fingers crossed). All power to you for getting the site up and humming the way it is. I’ll keep hacking around at this end to see what’s changed here as I’m sure it’s at my end !
wow all this talk about this great bad boy of a board but no pictures
please hurry on the uploading i wanna see this thing! lolHey Derek,
Yes, I’m a lurker at both boards, posting now and then, and definately know of Forg.
Thanks for the info, I had a feeling they were custom made bodies 🙁 But damn they’re good aren’t they!!
ZeroBXU
We use “A4″ paper, which is 210mm x 297mm (8.27″ x 11.70”). But if you compose to US-Letter, we’ll be fine with that, too!
Glad to hear you got the car up and running again – David was WAY to quick for me with a simple fix!
I was going to delve into the world of solvents etc. HeheheheDerek
Postage shouldnt be too much and at the moment it wil fit (as we know for deffenate) the toyota cilica and the nissan skyline at the moent it doesnt fit the honda s2000 but we are working on it (the boards will be made specifically for the type of car) but obviousley we havent got all the different types of car. But the board we have used should fit all the others because they are roughly the same size (apart from the S2000). The installation of it is very easy all you have to do is poke the switch through the back window and place the board in the roof of the body, place the car in the shell and thats it.Takes about 10 seconds. Like I said it will be 9.99GBP fully built or about 6-7GBP in kit form. it will probably be about 20USD including postage.
how would u get the wrx decals from puter format to “decal” form
ryan
no problem anytime man always like to help a bit charger in need of assistance. Take care, Dave
David – UPDATE: It’s fixed. Thanks again!
Derek – it was a black paint marker. Can’t see how I went wrong, can you?

It’ll probably be a few days yet on the decals, I’m doing a lot of pixel-by-pixel work to get them looking just right. Any file format suggestions? And here’s an I’m-totally-ignorant-about-Australia-question: do you use standard 8 1/2″ x 11″ paper down there? I’m just trying to figure out the best way to get the sizes “universalized”.
Oh… I thought it was like a television-style article (not a static web page). Bummer.
But still great to raise the profile of our fave toys!
Derek
Zero – major bummer about the wheels. That seriously sucks.
But all is not lost – YET. What did you use to “paint” the front wheels with? Enamel paint? A black marker? Solution will depend on what sort of base (eg ketone, xylene etc) the stuff is made of.Oh yeah – the rex decals – would be EXCELLENT if they were available from your site for download and instructions on the right material to print on!
Derek
“Helps”? It’s a life-saver. Thanks!
FOUND IT! On the Tech TV website: HERE
Dang, I’m good!
EDIT: Derek–I posted a comment to the article which should link to your site and mine.Their website “article” isn’t much more than a product description, though.
first you open up the car
then take the clear shell off
then unscrew the little tiny gold screw. then pull that front black top off the front of the car
then take the v shaped bar that holds the magnet out
then you can take off each wheel.
I did the same thing painting my lancer wheels black and i did this to get it off. I went and got brush cleaner and dipped the rims into their and wiggled them around in there for a few seconds and then wiped it off. Hope this helps! Dave
just figured out where the blue wire went today while i was bored after work and got it all back together again and the range has improved out of sight (almost fiiguratively speaking 🙂 ) i can now drive it from one side of the house to the other without having to get up (and not a single stutter either).. must be at least 10 meters it even seems as tho its a little faster ?? now too with the better signal
BTW – has anyone got a copy of the Tech TV article saved as an offline file?
I’d love to be able to host a copy here (for posterity’s sake) if Tech TV gave the hosting a green light. If nothing else – I’d just love to see what the coverage was like!

Thanks
Derek
OK – here’s the deal – I haven’t even fired up the code or site editing engines which means that NOTHING has been changed.
That probably means for some reason the BB scripts are recognising your cookie incorrectly? Or the proxy server for your ISP is serving up the wrong icons in repose to your cookie.
Try a flush of your browsers cache, then try a flush of the cookie.
If either of those fixes it then sadly there’s not much I can do. BUT if they don’t I’ll have to try and work out some more of this script – it could be a bug that’s as yet undocumented – in which case I’ll only be able to fix it fully when I get the update version.. (we are running a Beta of the software)

The decals that I used were FREEBIES from out the back of a local hobby store. They keep all the offcuts etc when they build their display models and when I started asking about really small decals they gave me an envelope full!
The dry transfer lettering was purchased at a stationery store for AUD4.10 (~USD2.00). The protective lacquer was purchased at the same shop for AUD7.95 (~USD4.00)
Would love to know if you can buy sheets of micro logos etc of popular brands or if they would have to be DIY.
Cheers
Derek
Our MOD MAD friend has sent me some photos and videos (VERY COOL!) to host.
I will upload tonight when I get home – bit difficult from behind the company firewall where I am at the moment

GPB8-10 would be a fair price IMHO (as long as postage etc wasn’t too exxy). SMC soldering is a BITCH to do unless you have the right gear and the hands-on experience working with SMCs.
Fantastic work, MOD MAD! I’m sure you’ll get a number of ‘thumbs-up’ once people see the photos and videos!!

Thanks
Derek
Tap! Tap!Aaaaron!!!!!
Could you please take a squiz at this and advise?
Cheers
