its me – talk away – its good to talk (as British Telecom used to say)

its only by getting comments back that I can fix up things.

I had thought that the parts were bigger, so I found a better tracking system for small bits.

If people want costs to a minimum (understandable) then I can add a baby jiffy bag for $1.00 or so, plus a bit for stamps.

I just wanted to make sure folks could track their goodies online where possible…

thanks for the ‘welcome’ – Im sure a newby on these cars, but I cant wait to get a race-night organised – and get thrashed no doubt

    Steve

Costs – mmm … your right – we hadnt taken into account how cute (small) some of these parts are …

now we have a better rate – $4 for anywhere in Australia – next business day.

Thats in an express post package from Australia Post – with tracking number which we will place on your e-mail.

IF peple realy want to risk postage in anything less – let Aaron And Derek know and I can add another postage option on…

We’re on our fourth order today for Char-G stuff … stock arrived today so we’ll get the web updated ASAP.

As stock settles down and we get more feedback on the goodies you want we will definitly look at pricing and postage to keep us all happy.

    regards

    Steve

I was expecting a postage and handling cost of $4-5 (considering that it is couriered) only to find that it was actually around $16

This stuff about postage is worrying. I buy a LOT of stuff online, all sorts of products from all over the world.

The best rate I’ve found was 75p airmail from the UK for a PC game.

I pay $1.50 postage max.for DVDs in Australia .. the motors and accesories are smaller & lighter than a DVD. Usually a DVD has free Australia Post shipping.

In fact I usually pay no more than $5.00 for full boxed PC games in Australia, and often less! These are similar size & weight to these cars. And the shipping is Express Post or Courier!

Of course I’ll let Trading Direct know my concerns directly, but in the meantime, take a good look at other options and add up the total cost from each source before making your mind up, I hate to see people getting burnt.

And, from my experience the aus models don’t have crips!

Hate to tell yoy but if you connect a diode the wrong way around for too long or at too high a voltage a diode will kill itself ( depends on what type of diode) have look in any electronics textbook.

anyway I only said it as one posability,

and led a special diodes and when used with out a resister or current limiting device you can expect to see a led draw infanit current ie a short. the only reason most people get away with putting a led direct to a battery is that the voltage is faily low andd/or the internal resistance of the batery is hight enough to limit the current going into the led. Don’t beleave hock up one of your Expensive blue led up toa 9v battery with out a resister and see what happens to $7 worth of led :smiley15:or if you want to test my low voltage case, get yourself a lab powersupply, set it to 1.2 volts with no current limiting and stick the led in and see what happens.

    have fun

I fould that my Skyline didn’t have the cirppling cap in the transmitter. got about 7M as well out of the box.

did a ant change on the car with some breadboard wire (solid core cable) about 150mm long solder directly to the top side of the pcb and I get about 20M. though this range is in my garage( 10 unit building so I have a big place to drive the car) have tested it out side yet so son’t know its max range.

got the aprox 150mm length form 1/50 of the 40Mhz wave length which is about 7.5M

I found that after a while, as the filing gather, you will loss more and more of the stearing. I fould that best way to get rid of the filing is to use a magnetic screw driver and just puck them off ( I guess a magnet would do the trick too) but I find this methed seems to get most if not all the filings off.

Sound like you might have bent theclip/heatsink. is theclip flat? (the bit that supost to be flat anyway) if not bend it back cos it sould like as if the clip isn’t holding the moter in snugly anymore. Also check if any of the plastic that the clip pushes up agences isn’t bent, twisted or broken, if that happen, you need a new car body (or if you are good at melting plastic) So the answer to the question “is it supposed to come off” is NO, it should be a tight fit and sould take a bit to get the clip off.

    best of luck
