nope. doesnt mesh good at all. i wish. haha but u jus gave me another idea. shave down tha teeth of an xmod bevel, and glue teeth on from a different gear. kinda like how i did mine.

how many teeth does a mini z spur hav? i forgot to count befor i sanded them down. to feel my need for speed(corny huh) i made a smaller spur gear out of a gear from sum toy i had laying around. cut the middle out to make a ring of teeth. sanded down tha original teeth. glued tha ring of teeth around tha middle of tha diff so i i kan push tha motor shaft deeper into tha pinion instead of jus tha tip where it sumtimes flys off. now i have a smaller spur mounted nearer the motor.
main reason why i did this is cus i want to use a 14 tooth pinion, 11 is the biggest i kan use withtha stock motor mount. so it wus either find a way to raise tha motor more or make a smaller spur. smaller spur it is. plus smaller spur = top end. might as well make use of all tha torque this thing is puttin out ( i didnt even install neos yet) but yeah hers tha update

    smaller spur (40tooth)
mini Z six spokes all around
    xmod rear tires(soft,wide)
    still 11T pinion
    55 kph

i havnt even started to add voltage yet
    ill hav pics soon

for RWD, Z rear end is way better than tha stock. most xmod rear ends are wacked anyway. wich causes tha whole sharp left wide rights (or tha other way around) easy to fix with a solder iron. xmods are better off 4wd.the direct drive is more responsive.

    soon…

haha, its funny u say that cus im tha one that started that long time ago back in january.
    http://p221.ezboard.com/fxmodrcfrm7.showMessage?topicID=334.topic
it worked for a while but i started to find more ways to get power. and still break cups. and if the cup doesnt break i round out the D shaped stud on the other end.
i jus did a lil work on this Zmod.
i swaped out IC5 for a steering fet,
    changed to a MRS4 11tooth pinion.
10k ohm 1/4 watt risistors on my servo
    still usein tha stock stage2
    hit 32 kph

perfoms better than my friens mr-o2. its like a Z w/o all the tweakin problems. accelerates faster than my friends xspeed with 9 tooth. could this be better than that $150 car? maybe i havnt even started winding motors for it yet. only problem is traction. even with 11tooth it spins em forever. only way to drive it is outside on smooth concrete. i forgot about tha problems with a rwd.

ill try to make one soon. i kan give a basic diogram wich is pretty easy but ther is sum cuting, glueing and melting involved in tha way i did it since i made a small holder for the extra cell. also ull hav to add another AAA holder for the charger

i wonder when iwaver will make a mr-02 chassie. i used 2 hplates on my power runner (Palm runner clone). i have an mr-o1 rear end on it. 2 h plates worked good. i lil stiff but hasnt broken since.

are the Hplates similare on an MR-02? i had a 01 on my mind this whole time

H plates. since they break all too often. even stock Zs. in a event out here at our local race track. the entry level micro class. they had to pause the race since 4 out of 6 Zs racing broke H plates. its a pain. so hav extra at hand.

ice, i too hav a superslick. its fun jus goofin off with them. for tha need for speed i converted mine to a 3 cell. kan keep up with a xspeed equiped z. try it

yeah that sux man i guess im fortunate to hav a radio shack near by. main upgrades to get are s2 motors, mainly for the pinions and bevel gears and awd. i hope to hav vids soon. to show wut a well tuned xmod can do.

aww that sux man, sry bout ur car. do u hav any pics while it wus alive. i had fren with tha sam problem but i doubt his car wus as fast as urs. wut we did to his car wus get a set of over land wheels, hollow out 2 of them, cement them to the other 2 deeeep dish look and put the tires on to make big wide tires. and put foams in the front. accually helped alotand we did have to trim too much off the fenders. since ur set up wus fast, why dont u try to put ur Z electronic on to an xmod. to take advantage of the 4wd. heres a link of one of tha best modders i ever seen. hes mounted o1 and 02 boards to xmods. he has aslo has the best Zs i ever seen and kool drift vids.

yess fully stalled. holding motor still. thoes fets handle 74A. also even shorting it and flooring it for a few seconds with the fets barely gettin warm.

jamie, nice motor. did u also have to use a larger size baring in the rear end bell of the PD? i just use mini4wd barings a lil tight but fit right in. hav u tried li-ions in ur z yet?

had to go back up to a 37t before i got my fet upgrade. right after i did a 2×2 stack it ran much better. i really liked the way it proformed (spinning all 4 tires w/o spinning out is kool) so didnt wannah change it jus yet. long gears of an xmod well suits it(torque). i will eventually bring it(the turns) back down cus my SI4562DYs dont event get hot.

one of tha fastest motors ive made is a cutom
    pyrimid wound
    19turn 180
    180 can
    180 armature
    130 end bell
    130 brushes
    130 comm
    neos/bb (opional)

. its tha motor i make for racers out here usein mrs4s xmods and minizs but for z users i have to make the motor a tad shorter since they kant used full size cus if the sideways mounting. Zs dont do well with too much torque anyway so it all works out. the armature legs are more than twice the size of a normal 130 arm.

pics here, i kall hulk. reasons cuz 1. i jus watched the movie 2, it size 3. most of tha parts jus happened to be green
page 2 also has more pics of it
    http://img17.photobucket.com/albums/v51/chino925/motors/

btw. grease filled diffs are kool for xmods and Zs run great with overland rims and tires for the rear

from my experience 2×2 SI4562 worked alot better for me than a 3×2 stack of IRF7389s. wich is great since i dont want a hole on the bottom of my xmod.

btw that turbo can be sorted while flooring it and the fet would barely get warm. that kan easily run a 540 motor no problem, stall current is nuthing to it. too bad it kant fit in an xmod or Z, haha. havnt tryed anything less than 12turn. but runs it great.

jamie, what motor are u running?

theres a new wheel upgrade kit for zipzaps i jus got. it comes with spacers to make tha wheels wider to fit tha new wider tires. their pretty wide. like 3 normal ZZ tires stuck together

most ppl here jus change a a carbonfiber drivshaft. and alot off ppl hav changed to CF chassies. when i find links i will post them. but honestly i dont think its really worth it unless u really gonnah do sum majoir moddin like diffrent types of cells or electrinics. th are a few tha has swaped out tha xmods electrinics for minix or miniz electronics

wut kind of fets are u using. i use 2×2 of SI4562DYs works way better than a 6×2 of IRF7389s.
but that whoe nelly would work better.

motor im useing a modified plasma dash with
ballbarings , cus tha stock bushings SUCK
    neodyniums
    large comm
    37 turn armature
    http://img17.photobucket.com/albums/v51/chino925/motors/PD_plasma_dash.jpg

u guys should really try mixing pinions and bevels. wht bevel with a 10-11 tooth pinion works great. use cut off from tha end of a pen’s ink tube for spacers to raise the motor mount. place under mount around screw.

also u should try a drive train breakin.
    mount a crap motor
hook up direct power from a type of power supply
make sure the motor is not hooked up to tha car
while it runing lube it (i like to use silicon lubricant spray)
    let it run over night

after it should roll like silk w/o a motor installed. this makes it easier for tha motor to push the car.

haha, tha guy that made tha board didnt use tiny normal fets. he used large ones. 4 large 3pin mosfets found in amplifiers. i think. ionnoe for sure but it works great. it sends as many volts u want to the motor and regulates the voltage goin to tha board at 5v so u kant fry ur car. ill hav a pic soon. the guy is online at this monent as i type this post
