MS Char-ged, Those are really really nice looking tanks… I saw some in a Toy Shop down here going for about $140.

I just think that having a r/c tank that doesn’t shoot is kinda like it being neutered… What’s the point of having a gun if you can’t shoot it?

On the other hand, if I had the spare cash, I’d get one of them… (After I get a shooting tank):D

not even close to that Crom, these looked a bit bigger and they looked more realistic

Good… Heh, these things look like a mutated APC or something its military, but not as sexy as a Tank… :p

Bigger and more realistic, but less than a hundered… More like these then? (Heh, I poke around Toyeast too much)

I’ve just done a quick seach and I guess I”m too late again… blackeye:

Did any of you guys get the name of those 1/60 tanks or the name of the manufacturer? Those sound too good to be true…

Shypo, if you wanna see what my face looked like when I read you post, go and watch The Mask. The bit where The Mask sees Cameron Diaz in the club is a fair approximation of what I looked like… Just not as green but better looking :smiley2:

I haven’t been online cause I’ve been working as much as I can before the start of Uni.

Plus I’m trying to save as much as I can so that I can get more bit stuff without my other half finding out that I’m spending more money on “toys” :dead:

    Heh,

Then in addition to making my standalone charger be able to charge my bcg, Its gotta charge my controller too? Yea, that shouldn’t be too much trouble…

Main problem then would be tracking down the batts themselves…

yeh crom iv had the same problem, iv got one completely broken off, and some others cracked, and its really really annoying.

Im going to try and super glue the craked ones, and maybe kill a whole chassis to get the tab of it and glue it on my other one, or can shypo tell me another way to get a tab ??

Let me know if you find a good way crom

    :question::question::question:
Me thinks Barrelll is a little confuzzled… I haven’t said anything in this thread yet… :p

But thanks for your suggestions in my cracked shell thread… 😀

Shypo, do your lowered shells rattle a lot when you go over bumps? (Like between tiles on a tiled floor?)

🙂 I have some spare time here in my pocket. uA, you can have it if you need it. 🙂

    :question::question::question: Pats down pockets :question::question::question:

    Oops, no, it’s gone.

Maybe I’ve left it next to the pile of money that I’m raising to buy a Tank off bithed :p

Can anyone figure out where the RF Tx Amp is located? We could simply use a voltage regulator on it to lower the power going into it, and thus shorten the range a bit.

The RF Tx amp is Q2, and you dont want to drop the power output, you want to increase it from its original, but not by too much.

:smiley16: I actually meant putting a voltage regulator on a 9V battery so that you get the 6 volts or so going to the RF Tx amp.

Hmm… I bow to your greater expertise once again uA & PandaBear. However, for the record, I don’t really want to have a battery pack stuck onto my controller. I like the look and the compactness of the controller atm. So I vote for using a NiMH 8.4V rechargable battery.

But however you manage to get this done uA, it’d be an awesome mod! 😀

    Thanks for your help guys!

I’ve superglued the shell from underneath, (because I couldn’t find any silver paint.) You can’t see the crack anymore, but somehow it seems to feel a little more brittle when I put the shell back on. I hope that this shell doesn’t breakdown totally.

Thanks for the offer Barrelll, but I’ll keep on going with this till it completely breaks down. Then I might just get a set of Celica shells.

On the plus side, I am now willing to mod this shell. I was thinking of lowering it, but it doesn’t look like there’s enough room to do that with this one… Maybe I’ll just cut the top off.

    Thanks again everyone!

    😀

Also check that the wires connecting the steering coils to the PCB are not broken.

They are very small thin wires that can look like hair or strings of dried glue and are easily broken by accident when lifting or lowering the PCB in the car.

There are two wires to each coil.

I’ve gone thru the site and it looks like this could potentially be very easy to do. Under the section Home on the Range, the guy list three things to do to boost the range.

    1) Increase the lenght of the car’s antenna.
    2) Do the “Pots” mod on the car.
    3) Boost the power of the transmitter.

The first two are relatively “commonplace” mods. While the last one is potentially the most exciting one. I agree with uA that 200 feet is overkill.

But I would like to point out that to keep the asthetics of the transmitter, a 9V batter would be easiest thing to use. I can’t really figure out how you are going to cram 4AA or even 4AAA batteries into the transmitter casing without some serious cutting and taping.

Can anyone figure out where the RF Tx Amp is located? We could simply use a voltage regulator on it to lower the power going into it, and thus shorten the range a bit.

On a side note, you’d want to lower the transmitter power because the Rx on the car (like uA said) isn’t very accurate. There have been cases where a non crip cap 40Mhz Tx has been able to control a 35Mhz and 45 Mhz car, simply because it was more powerful than the “correct” Tx.

hmm…. cutting… umm… :dead: that sounds so simple… yet if I screw it up… blackeye: umm… I’ll think about it some more.

Maybe I should do it on the cannon fodder 27Mhz chassis that I’m getting from JNH… the one I”m planning to do a dual bat sleeper mod on…

    lowering tab mod?

Have never heard of it… Have you got instructions (hopefully with pics) ? I’ve been looking and playing with it, and you’re right… if I lower it it would look much better…

    😯

My guess is that he’s earning it thru the number of downloads his video is gettin…

I think that 1:1 bumper stickers would be good and the decals for bcg’s the way to go.

Sorrrry KittyKat, but I’m not too sure that we’d be up for the money that the shirts would cost…

    *Jumps up and down excitedly*
    Bb shooter… Bb shooter
    *Squeals like a little girl*
    Yay!

That means that it can take the place of the tanks that I wanted but cant afford!

And if that doesn’t come true I’ll blame Z-beam for getting my hopes up! 👿

I would like a custom bitbox with a logo on it.

    Maybe a mug.

    Decals would be nice too…

    Shirt would be good…

    😀
