I’ll think about it Shypo. I’m just too chicken to do any sort of cutting or filing to my bits… :p
The impossible just takes a little longerThanks for the Birthday Wishes Everybody!
I love the Celica, it has better range than my S2000 right outta the box, and with the 2.6 it goes zoom zoom. :approve: I don’t think I’ll be modding this one… except maybe replacing the battery. (It doesn’t seem to last as long as my S2k when it gets dbl charged… but that could be because its still new… 😀
The impossible just takes a little longerbithed, are you interested in selling the tanks?
The impossible just takes a little longerThanks KittyKat.
😀The Celica wasn’t from my gf. (Although my first BCG was…) She doesn’t need to rely on giving me r/c either… although I wouldn’t really mind if she did… just as long as it wasn’t the only present she gave me! :smiley2:
The impossible just takes a little longerUmm… you have to *train* friends like mine…
:smiley16:All of them complain that all I talk about are my toys… be it robots or bcg.
Soooo… when it came to presents, they had a really good idea of what to get me.
:smiley2:
The impossible just takes a little longer$5 a spring set? Already cut?!? What if I want ones for different heights? Tell you what, I’ll cut the springs myself and you can drop the price back down to $1 a set… (Saving on the labour costs… Plus you’re still making an obscene profit)
Z-beam: What difference do the springs make? And what do you mean by double or triple layered spring?
The impossible just takes a little longerHave you uploaded the movie? Wanna see wanna see!:D
The impossible just takes a little longerQuote:And just to beat the prices on the web I’ll sell each spring for Aus $1. mwahahahaaa.Well, do they fit perfectly? Without needing to be cut?
blackeye: I went to my locksmith yesterday and he basically told me to nick off…
The impossible just takes a little longerDaveF: How did the locksmith thing go?
The impossible just takes a little longerUmm… so aside from all the pimping and name calling and stuff has there been a decision on how rep and gold work?
The impossible just takes a little longerQuote:Only problem i found with dirt is that sometimes there is raw iron in it. And this makes steering very difficult,Have you used sandpaper yet shypo? i think its one of the easiest surfaces to race on, depending on the type though.
Bap Bap Bap
Umm, has anyone used the reverse side of lino? really nice to drive on, its much like the reverse side of a mouse mat. I was thinking of making a track out of some unused lino I’ve got lying around…
The impossible just takes a little longerHeh, then maybe I should chime in here and score my 50th post!
Shypo, watch out, here I come for your pimppost title! hehehheheheh
The impossible just takes a little longerQuote:no it was just out of aggrevation and there was another time when he was almost clipped when drving and he swung his car around cutting off 3 lanes of the harbour bridge while he got out of the car and punched someone in the head for almost clipping him.. lol best not be crossin my dad when doin sumthin stupid LOL—-

Gee, and Melbourne is supposed to be the road rage capital of Australia…
The impossible just takes a little longerQuote:Here you go, this will help you heeps!

Cool, keep us posted!:D
The impossible just takes a little longerQuote:Sorry Crom, looks like I came full circle on that one. The Kit racer charging app. isn’t compatible with the bits but if you needed the timing function of the kit racer charger you could try swapping the whole plastic (mounting) piece with the bit plastic (mounting) piece?Quote:Nah, stay clear from the KIT handset, its useless.Heh, no worries Impreza… I went on the same wild goose chase as well.. I don’t really want to chop up my controller for a mounting piece, so I looked at the KIT charger…The contacts are spaced the correct distance apart… but there’s that stupid piece of plastic in the way… I could sand it down, but I think its easier if I just use two screws or nails for contacts and go that way.
Quote:You can get simple circuits in a kit from DSE etc, just simple 555-based timers that will on/off a relay at the end of your set period.Yup, that was what I was thinking of, with maybe a potentiometer or a switchable bank of resistors, to control the timing, and another switchable bank of resistors to vary the charging voltage.
[edit]
I forgot to mention… I’m thinking of using a 9V DC Power adaptor or even a variable DC power pack from DSE. So that I can run it from the mains, and have like a backup 9V alky in the box with all the electronics…
[/edit]Quote:Simpler circuits would be like the one in the BCG TX, its a “bucket with hole in it” idea. Basic and not very accurate, but close enough.Bucket with a hole? I don’t even understand how it works… :dead: And thats with the schematic of QFM :p
Thanks for the input guys!

Lazboy: do you mean that the turning circle is smaller? (Heh, looks like DaveF beats me to the punch again…)
Springs from a slot car set… hrmm… I was actually thinking of cutting up a spring from a spring loaded pen…
The impossible just takes a little longerCould anyone who’s got a 3.5 motor please give a kinda mini review? Like how is it compared to the “normal” Tomy ones?
The impossible just takes a little longerYep I’ve done it…
It didn’t really change the range. I’m pretty sure that’s because the lenght of the antenna didn’t change, although with the antenna standing a bit shorter, theoretically it should decrease the range slightly.
But I then decided to un-curl it and unknot the antenna under the PCB to extend the antenna hoping for a extra boost in range… No real noticible increase tho… maybe 10cm or so for the stutter free range…
btw, I think that the antenna is glued onto the plastic PCB cover on some of the compacts.
Hope that helps

The impossible just takes a little longerQuote:you could switch the coloured ends of a motor so yours go faster??After seeing the vids of DaveF’s track I think that a faster motor would actually be more of a hinderance, especially in the technical parts of the course….

Are the gears meshing fine? There was something on questformadness.com about adjusting the motor well. It could be that the motor just isn’t sitting properly when you go forwards…
Its Mod 23 on http://www.questformadness.com
alternatively on bitchar-g.co.uk about halfway down on

If you’ve been driving with any motor for a while and your car starts to slow, and you have taken all of the of ther other precautions, here’s a tip for you. Bit Char-G motors have wires on the inside that must be straight to be able to go the full speed. If you are willing enough, and if you are an expert at this sort of thing, then open the motor and straighten the wires. But, don’t say I didn’t warn you for this may permenantly damage your motor so try it on a spare one. I usually don’t advise this. Heed my warning!submitted by: Tyler Johnson
—hope that those might help.
The impossible just takes a little longerQuote:the standard bcg pinion gear has 6 spokes
a kit racers got 7
but my oem special ed.loctite zexel’s got 8 spokes
i’ve had to cut at my bcg’s so that any pinion can be used. i also use flat tipped screws to balance the angle of the motor. this is how to tune gears to be loose (no brakes) or tight (hand brake). can you buy the 8spoke special ed gear sets?Ehhh… I”m not really brave enough to do a lot of modding on my bit so I’m not even going to try and tune my gears like you’ve described. Haven’t even heard of 8 spoke gears…
On the other hand, I bought a KIT racer last night for the motor and batt. The 2.6 rolls after I release the gas, so I guess it just comes down to the characteristics of motor. And not due to a design thing.
