Aww man! I missed that expo… where was it PandaBear? Or wasn t it open to the public?

The impossible just takes a little longerHmm… I think you might be able to build one outta 2 bits…
Have the two bits (both using the same freak) in the engines. Make the engines like a custom body, and have two stiff wires (from coat hangers maybe?) join back to the main pod which because of the two stiff wires, will stay elevated off the floor.
If it tips over backwards because of the weird center of gravity, add some ballast in the front of the engines. heh… it would turn weirdly… would probably be better if you use two booster bits on different frequencies… and boost/unboost the bits in pairs to turn… Hmm… Kinda like a tank (sorry , I just had to put that in :smiley2:)
Oh well.. thats enough outta Crom for a while…

wow.. that makes you *plays muzak while Crom does complex addition more numbers than he has fingers and toes*42!?!!??!?
Heheh *j/k* Z-beam:clown:
The impossible just takes a little longerHappy birthday DIJNN.
The impossible just takes a little longerHmm… Actually, come to think of it… I’ve never actually bought a bit. :approve:
My first was a compact S2k 27MHz from my gf.
My other was a black celica 35MHz. That was a birthday present from my friends.
But I did drop lots and lots of hints… 😀
The impossible just takes a little longerUmm… I’m a little confused… Do you take off the wax blob and then use a ceramic screwdriver to turn the core from the pcb side?
or
melt the wax off so that you can turn the core from the non pcb side?
or
don’t need to melt the wax off and turn it from the pcb side?
Then if the wax was removed, do you have to blob some back on once you’re done?
The impossible just takes a little longerQuote:Hey guys, for all the Melbourne based turkeys I’d like to organise a get-together some time in a few weeks. Not for racing, just more of a get-to-know-you sort of thing. What’s everyones thought on the matter? Do we want to meet at a pub? Or is there an issue with ages?
I was talking to Micro_amps about this today and it sounded like a good idea. The Sydney people seem to be getting things going, I’m sure Melbourne can too.
I’m up for a meet… Sunday arvos are probably the best time for me… I’ve got no other commitments then. A pub is okay for me. (Heh, trust an engineering graduate to pick a place where he could drink BEER!):clown:

*Crom runs away and resumes hiding among the throngs of Jaffys at Monash O-Week*
Seriously tho, congrats on the purchase uA…
The impossible just takes a little longerLemme add my congrats and welcome wishes to everyone else’s, twizm.
Hmm… I’ve gotta come up with something cool for a milestone avatar of my own… how about how many body parts pimped out to Shypo? 😀
The impossible just takes a little longerHappy Birthday! 😀
The impossible just takes a little longer*LoL* Well, I’m glad you guys liked the little peek into my twisted mind. 👿
Sorry I’ve been away for a while, but its O-Week and heh, well… I’m sure that when it come down to the line, most of us will pick free booze and girls over micro RC cars. :dead:
Barrelll, isn’t it obvious? I’m already insane! Muahahhahahaha!
Shypo, I’m guessing you’re talking about that Huge Zaku Gunwalker that has a video camera and BB gun? 😀 Those are nice… really expensive tho…
Gundam okay it isn’t the greatest… The greatest mecha anime is SDF Macross… (or for the unenlightened… aka Robotech.) Giant transforming robots… ^_^ I want a real one so that I can go zooming around as a plane or as a robot!
(Crom goes to his room… to play with his robots… while being chased by ultra range modded bits with BB shooter attachments…)
The impossible just takes a little longerI like the fact that you can use magnets as mines for the Digi-Q tanks… adds a little more dimension to battles… heh… imagine it…
You’re a driving a heavy tank deep in enemy territory, you’re the sole survivor of your battle group. You know that there’s at least one enemy light tank around.
You know you have to finish off that enemy tank before it manages to ambush you again. Rumbling down a gully, you see a flash of gunmetal grey in front of you as you are driven back by the impact of a hit on your turret. Your reactive armour disrupts the shaped charged of the HEAT round that the little bitch just shot at you!
You give chase, roaring down and out of the gully onto a flat field that gives the enemy no cover. Even his speed won’t save him now, since he’s got no where to hide. You rumble on, cannon firing as fast as your gunner can load it. Then suddenly
B:evil::evil:M!!!
You’ve just rolled straight over some mines that have been planted there. Your tank has just lost a track and you’re a sitting duck. Game over, you’ve just lost.
(Okay, maybe I’m a little too obsessed about tanks. Either that or I’ve got an over active imagination. Just wait till someone starts a legit thread about Macross and Transforming Robots, then I’ll show everyone exactly how obsessive about a subject I can be! Muahhhahahha :p)
The impossible just takes a little longerHeh, well… you can get them, and I’ll come over and play with you… Uhh… as long as you’re somewhere in Melb.:p
The impossible just takes a little longerI guess I could ask BitHed… But all I know is what I posted before…
Gothikon: Those tanks are a little ugly… :p I’m not even sure that I’d classify them as tanks, personally those things look more like APC’s with a turret grafted on…
The impossible just takes a little longerUh there s a little known battery shop here in Melb called Battery Masters (?). (Sorry, the names totally slipped my mind… but I know that they’re NOT battery world) They’re like a factory outlet along North Rd.
Last time I called they had NiMH batts going for about $4.50 or something not incl GST…
Look in the white pages…

The impossible just takes a little longerGee, winding by hand is kind tedious isn’t it? Since we’re not actually counting how many turns the coil is, couldn’t you put one end of that drawing pin assembly into a drill and start it winding at low speed? Less monotonous effort… plus you get a more regular winding…
I remember reading something about rare earth magnets being duds, because the magnet that came in the bit was already a rare earth magnet… and was stronger than the replacement ones to boot…

The impossible just takes a little longerWell, I tried… just stupid money issues kinda got in the way…
I’m not sure if BitHed will mind me telling, but apparently the tanks went to a buyer in a different country… Maybe BitHed could send him junk mail telling him about Ausmicro.com? :p
The impossible just takes a little longerOh boy… This is getting interesting… I’ll leave the headaches about the freqs to others, but ask a different question… Do we have a track yet?
And PandaBear, I assume that by ‘no hopups’ you mean that we all race with the Aussie compact standard Nicad, 2.2, orange gears, medium tyres? Otherwise my poor Celica won’t have a chance with 1.0 motor and all… 🙁
The impossible just takes a little longerI’d be interested in a set of Bit Decals… 😀
The impossible just takes a little longersokay Barrelll… Don’t stress too much about it… The day will come when I can get my hands on a Tank. (If I don’t sell them off for money first :p)
The impossible just takes a little longerCongrats Shypo! U Pimp U!
The impossible just takes a little longerDune buggy would be awesome… Heheheh… always loved dune buggies…
