Shypo, are you using a standard shell, or one of your already lowerred shells? :smiley2:

Shypo. I might take you up on that offer of installing the springs for me. You’ve done it before, I’m crap with models, and I don’t have the timne between making more tracks (some to sell on eBay) and having to learn 60 new songs for a band that’s just asked me to drum for them. :smiley16:

You have my emailI think, and if not, PM me your details.

Of course, if you break my Bit I’ll track you down and rip your ears off. 👿

Do you have to put the pullback rims on a BCG axle, or does the whole axle just clip out of the pullback, and into the BCG, ready to run?

So the sway bar thing on top of the steering assembly makes a difference if it’s more rigid, softer, taken away altogether, etc.

Who’s tried what, and what was the difference to the turning circle?

Yeah, I like the wide wheel look. Very Formula 1.
How hard was it to put the PullBack rear wheels on the BCG? Was it just a matter of clipping out the whole rear axle and clipping it in the BCG?

Cutting the springs in half has already been done, but they’d still need further trimming anyway, to get them to the optimal height for your driving style.

I was kind of joking about selling them, but as $5 is still $3 cheaper than on the web, $5 it is.

Nah, I don’t have anywhere to store the movie on the web. To be honest it’s pretty dull. Mostly stills of the guys standing looking at their cars on the track (in race). very little actual moving footage, and 11 seconds worth. Not worth it for a 12m file.

I might try and just trim it to the 10-15 seconds of race footage if I get time next week. See if I can get it down in size.

Also, most peopl were unexperienced drivers, so there’s a lot of barrier scraping going on. Didn’t get to have the 4 top drivers in one race – ran out of lunch hour. Maybe next time (once I do up my BCG some more too).

Why did my reply to the ZipZap rims discussion end up in here? Something funny is going on.

Uh, just incase this reply ends up in the right place… The GP was fun. I won the race I went in by the way. We had about 15 people through the room on the day. I’ve got some footage, but Most of it is stills, and the editted movie is about 12Mb

Oh, maybe I should charge $5 per spring kit. I could even cut them in half first.

    Who wants one? :smiley2:

HAHAHAHAHAAAAA!. The XXX would sell well too. Have to deliver it in brown paper bags though.

Someone needs to make a holden ute body with a blue heeler, kelpie, border collie in the back, and the arial coming out the bullbar. :8ball::smiley2:

Any spring you get will need to be cut to length from what I can gather, even the ones fro the UK site. Has anyone purchased the springs form the UK or QFM site? Can they confirm if they’re pre-cut?

Just swap the springs over to your favourite car if they’re perfect already, then start again on your less favourite car.

A few drops of olive oil can give good burnout results too. Don’t do it on your tack though, or you’ll end up with a slick spot.

Ah, now I understand which bit you’re asking about now. The burnout before the take-off, not the donuts near the start/finish line.

The donuts were done with a 3.0 motor, and booster set. Turn, give it a boost, and the donut begins. Takes some practice to get the timing, and to do be able to do it in the space provided.

The burnout takeoff… Zoom in on the car so you can’t see the arial. Lift the car slightly using the arial. Hit foward, the wheel will spin, lower the car onto the track and let go of the arial before the wheel stops spinning. looks good, but it’s just a hollywood special effect baby.

Perhaps springs? Maybe the suspension kits that Tomy make?

I’m buying some springs today, but I haven’t actually tried either of these. Has anyone else tried them?

How do mechanice improve the turning circle on real cars? Anyone know?

But he’s saying one car pulls left, and the other pulls right. if it’s just motor position they’d both pull in the same direction.

I’d suggest perhaps the spring may have more tension to one side. Make sure both arms of the spring are dead straight.

Double check the magnets, and even glue them in place.

Do they have a steering fine tuner/adjuster underneath the car?
