So we just stick in a OS40 instead of OS25, 60 instead of 40 etc.
Weight not that strict on a boat though.
This guy that I was buying my shrinkwrap from, he showed me this huge battery pack he made out of about 40 subCs. It was a huge stick 2x2x10 over 2 feet long, weighed 2kg+.
His boat was about 1m hull, running some Aeveox motor.
Damn, that must have been a seriously powerful boat.
When i used to be in the launceston model aero club (never flew outdoors, as my dad was always too busy to help me get into flying)
anyway, a bloke from Germany named Martin Webberschock who was the world champ F5B pilot came to our club, to show us his toys, though they had HUGE price tags, they were still toys!
His F5B had about a 2m wingspan, about 15cm chord and was made from carbon fibre….everything was CF. You could actually sit in the middle of the wing with the ends propped up and it would support yor weight, though nobody tried.
The plane had a 28 cells and pulled around 100A current. The cells only lasted a few cycles.
Anyway, this thing was incredible, the sound of it doing a pass at almost 400km/h was a blast.
It could climb 600ft in around 2-3 seconds, just incredible.

If some little kid trod on my mini Z, i’d flip, regardless of his bitch momma, i’d trash his bike. Well….maybe not…It almost happened once, a pair of twins chased it (when it was running an X speed and standard ESC….bah….slow) and i didnt know what to do, i could just see it going “crunch!”, but i was lucky.
perhaps make a sign guys, something like “You Toucha Ma Car, I Slappa Your Face” or something that deters people, stating the value of your machines etc……though a 6 y.o. kid won’t take any notice of them.
Howabout an electric fence….everybody knows not to screw with those.

It’s a long narrow thing, has very little water contact whatsoever, and if the donk I put in it isn’t powerful enough (total weight of craft 250-300g) which it should be, I’ll just add more Li-ion cells!!

Wills, I think you would have some trouble in the model aircraft world, you can’t make a plane from bricks ‘n’ mortar, then shove the biggest donk you can find in it and expect it to fly nicely.
Building light is the key with planes, and i guess with boats too.

The boat is actually smaller than the box!! Trust me i built it!!
The motor I am using puts out 15x the power of a stock Z motor, so i think that should be sufficient.
There is no room for a 540 or 10 cells.

Wills, the cox .049’s run on the “cox” fuel, the other .061’s are basically smaller versions of larger engines. They run on normal glow fuel.
I’m thinking it would be best to run it on “buggy” fuel, due to the different application. But i may be wrong.
Looking more into this, the power plant of choice would be an AP .061 Wasp Throttled engine.
Though being bigger than an .049, it has many good features, dual ball bearings, ABC construction (aluminium piston, brass sleeve with chrome plating) which make it much more attractive than a cox engine, and at just 39.99 US, it’s a bargain.
I’ going to have to do this one day………….
The donor vehicle would have to be an Xmod…..well…..the drive train and some alloy drive cups with a custom chassis and HS55’s with micro RX…..
I have a few different pee wee, tee dee, killer bees etc.
The range of engines here goes from .010 (too small) to about 1.40 (bigger than the whole car)
I’d settle on an .049, seems the best for the job.
To get the .049 working with a throttle you need to put a throttled carb (and filter!!) with an exhaust sleeve linked to the carb.

The gearing etc can be worked out , and these motors don’t have huge torque, so gears should be ok.
The biggest problem is finding a clutch that will work. I have a very small 10mm nylon clutch, though it isn’t suitable, im sure one can be replicated (15mm??). A throttled .049 idles at around 5000-6000 RPM, so some heavy clutch spring will be needed.
A cooling fan is also vital to prevent servere overheating.
Lastly, some sort of exhaust system needs to be developed, having oil allover the place isn’t much fun. It also can affect performance, my 1/10 nitro buggy came stock with an exhaust that blew onto the left rear tyre, which made accelerating hard very hairy.
I have some experience with Nitro RC’s, and while this would be fairly challenging, the end result would be damn worth it.

Personally I wouldn’t touch it, one engine is enough work…..
Plus the fuel consumption would be HUGE, 1 hour of play would cost you $20-$30, no thanks, i’ll stick to my Ultima RB (with truck wheels), 1 hour costs me $4-$6.
Speaking of fuel, I didn’t see any big 125cc tanks anywhere!!
All that aside, that would be one fun machine….but would cost a small fortune to run and maintain.
If I was to get any truck, it would be the new traxxas revo!
Well, for the second time, my N-GAGE has officially shit itself, and has to be sent away to be fixed. This is a bugger cause i have lost a lot of data and alot of it was data I had collected for JK Racing……..Majorly pissed off with NOKIA.

Yeah mine is a 128, plenty big enough for it i believe.
Dude try putting some heatshrink on the drivecups, that will stop them flexing and breaking.
