BCG’s are too slow to do proper drifts, a dual cell/tri cell mod and med tyres should allow you to do long controlled drifts.

With an on/off throttle, managing drifts is not easy.

hehehe, those teeny alkalines have many cells inside them, and they have such high an internal resistance, that the voltage would drop and you would have a very slow car indeed.

Man i want one of those laser thermo guns. I just wonder how the **** they work.

Back on topic :), I am wondering if there is any ‘milspec’ type batteries in this size, or is there not enough demand in these sizes…..

Bench run it for a long time, Spray WD 40 through it, just use it alot and try the motor mount position (3 o’clock).

The front kingpins need to be lubed, a dry lube does not attract dirt so it does not need to be cleaned and relubed. This helps the suspension work more effectively

The HPI micro RS4 Pinions (8-9t) are interchangeable with the mini z. The pinions are metal (not sure what) and are a solution to the plastic pinions which wear out.

Well if you call the rechargeable NiMHs doglogs, what do you call commercially available AAA Alkalines?

My charger tells me that my 650AAA’s are charging up to 900mAh, whether this is an accurate figure, I don’t know.
The cells get a bit hot, so I think the charger is telling me the gross capacity, and some of the power is wasted in the cell as heat, so the net capcity may only be about 650mAh.

I’m in on these Milspecs, i’m sure thay have very low internal resistance etc. sounds like race winners.

Most people say “i’ll be a careful driver and not crash” no way of stopping this, its just a fact of life. The mini z bodies can take a fair bit of torture, but a hard hit on concrete may crack it. Kyosho make beautiful bodies, beautiful paint jobs and detail, but it wont be long before all that detail is transferred to gutters etc.

Ya – heaps of those stickons available for mZ, 1/10 and Maxxes, even seen metal discs for Micro RS4s.

But my big question is… of course they won’t work, ‘cos Where’s the Brake Calipers??

Panda, most of us know that they DON’T do anything besides look good, but some people on other forums were convinced that they were real working disc brakes. Calipers would enhance the look, but who can be bothered.

Barell, I REALLY want some of these babies cause they r so cool, where did u get yours from?

Um, it wouldnt have alot higher top speed, but you would have gobs of torque and acceleration, im gonna do that mod with 2.6’s and dual cell mod, feeding KIT racer gears…can u say jamie is cool for thinking of that.

When KIT racer gears are used, the braking performance is greatly reduced. The 12:1 BCG gears give the best braking.

Shypo??? U use graphite lube in the motor??? How do u get it in there, how do u stop it shorting the commutator? I use WD 40, hold the tube upto a hole in the back of the motor and seal it so when you squirt WD 40 comes out where the shaft is. Then Get Rid of the excess with paper towel.

Yep tried caps, but the brushes are still way too crap. Water dipping is USELESS unless the motor has proper carbon brushes.

GT-ahh, the stock brushes arc alot and I reckon that is what is causing the interference.

lol…you guys wait a whole HOUR for your batteries to charge??? Man my charger takes 20 mins and i still hate waiting.
I charge at about 2.4 A and put the batteries in a gel ice pack to keep them from self destructing.
