hmmm, you cant really ‘seat’ metal brushes. But give it a go, and tell us. Try the motor in another chassis, it often works.

On second thoughts, i think it is a bit of a waste, since it will still only have half the power of a dual cell car, BUT if you do it THEN do a dual cell mod you will have a very fast car indeed, but god damn it will chew the juice……

Im guna do one soon. My guess is that the top speed will be slightly higher, but the power, torque and acceleration will be massive.

Dan, do you mean the white plastic tab that screws to the chassis, or the part on the shell that slips over the white plastic tab?

Shypo, the dual cell bit has ample power to do drifts. The best combo on a smoothe floor is SOFT tyres on the rear and HARD tyres on the front. This only works with a dual cell chassis.

And they will say………15mAh for 5 hours……the stock battery is a SANYO N50AAA cell. The fastest you could FULLY charge the battery without over heating it is about 15 minutes.

I set up an LM317 current regulator to provide 220mAh current to charge the cell. Charged it in about 20 mins. Sounds a long time but you when ur doing something else it doesnt seem long.

I was hoping for *new* stuff. I was thinking about getting a clear chassis, but it would get lotsa dust and dirt inside it and look really dodge.

I dunno bout the nimh cells, but using a separate charger to charge the stock nicad battery gives 20-25 mins runtime.
Charging the chassis with the controller charger will only ‘zap’ a bit of power into the battery, it will not even come near to fully charging the battery.

MMMM might get some, does anybody know where to get the grey battery box/chassis? Ive run over lotsa rocks and got lotsa scratches on the bottom, i also hit my spur gear on a rock and flat sided it 🙁 But ive got a ball diff on the way so its all good.

Impreza, on 2 cells the motor lasts ages. Ive also noticed that the 1.6-2.2 motors have way more power than the 3.0 when used with a dual cell chassis. The 3.0 is sluggish as, and doesnt go that fast, the 1.6/2.2 acceleration is EXPLOSIVE, and the top speed is huge, like 4 times as fast as stock. All i want now is proportional control (working on it) and ill have a sick drift car :evil::evil:
