Yeah my mini-z wasn’t too happy, but still if I can get it to the point where it can do a lap at boroina then other tracks like templestowe should be smooth going 🙂

12th looks workable to me, plus it would be a shame not to roll out the carpet for z beam 🙂

(and hopefully by then I’ll have a few more bits to add to my car to increase the chances of it completing a lap 🙂 1/3 of a lap at BRRCC then into a wall lost a spring and a few washers, but until then it got a little respect from a few of the 1:10’s there (Unfortunately I wasn’t driving, or perhaps fortunately as my driving sux, the smoother surface at templestowe might suit it better) anyways till then 🙂

I’d be happy with Boronia, anyone else?

Edit: Lol less than 2 hours after I posted this I’ve be asked to help out with an abseiling tower in Coburg on the 28th, oh well first in best dressed 🙂
Besides I’ve come up with a name for my chassis (Its names after a man made monster who is just as beautiful and well assembled as my car 🙂
I got silly and put the Lithium batts ph2t supplied me with into it on the iwaver pcb [stacked fets, but no nelly 🙁 ] and it works, the runtime is shorter than Nimh 5 cells, but the initial speed is higher, no smelly smoke so far …

Which brings up a prob, what’s the best way to attach foam tyres to rimes and are there any handy tips, even on the Nimh 5 cell I can see daylight inbetween the tyres and the rims if I pick it up and give it some stick 🙂

Anyways hopefully we’ll have a few more say yes otherwise I might have to go abseiling, but I’d rather catch up with the rest of you 🙂

Not free 21st or 1st weekend of December, jumping of cliffs, the 28th was a good date for me, but not keen on seing what 1:10’s will do to my miniz if they come together so I’ll stay off the track, as for my miniz I’s finally gained some speed and looks like it will be fun to play with, unfortunately it’s now also lost the front right spring after investigating a wall 1/3 of the way around the track at Boronia, killed the tie-rod too (again) I really need to think about putting a body on it at some point. are there any alternate venues we could use on the 28th?

The web-site is great for looking at the size of nelly (especially the pics next to one of the bb can motors) any chance of side shots again with a motor for scale so our f1 nuts 🙂 can try to work out if the can make them fit?

That’s not a sunroof, THIS is a sunroof!

I thought you said the Iwaver bodyclips were just as strong

Told ya it was a convertible

So that’s what the little red button does

D@nm I should have stuck to regular instead of premium.

So that’s why you don’t use pure avgas in a car

    and

    ok where’s the gaffer tape?

Made with 100% Australian Beef (TM) 😉

Kinda scary when you look at how many products McDonalds have changed because of their new “Healthy” image, given that they used to imply that what we used to get was the real thing.

Hmmmm, Aerosol Cheese, Aerosol beef, if we can do bread, sauce and lettuce we can make Aerosol burgers 🙂

If you’re gonna auction it think about getting some autographs on it 🙂

Side note a few years ago I was at a scout camp selling canteen bandana’s (and abseiling 🙂 everyone wanted the black ones, so I set one aside and wouldn’t sell it, then at the end of the camp we auctioned it with the proceeds going to canteen, normally they go for $2, this one went for $100, Its amazing what people will chip in on auctions like that when its for a good cause, Good Luck

Atleast I picked the right car for going over the edge of a cliff in, if it was anything decent people would cry 🙂

Ohhh Ohhh look a cliff 🙂

(If a countdown appears over my head I’m not gonna be happy … “Oh no!”)

    He’s right tho.

ph2t – A friend mentioned a “floating mosfet driver” from IR, (or something along those lines) I don’t know the details but apparanly that can be used to make a h-bridge using only n-chan fets, don’t know if its of any use, but here’s hoping.

    Ph2t’s madforce isn’t a lithium powered monster???

ph2t looks like it needs more upgrades 🙂 obviously going fast enought to overtake some of the 1:10s out there isn’t enough to impress Glue
    😀

(ok joking, except the bit about the madforce overtaking 1:10’s)

Arggg took too long typing. ph2t beat me again 😉

Hey you’ve seen how I drive, the only kinda race I should be in is a smash em up derby :smiley2:

But like last time I’m willing to share, hopefully you can find someone worthy to play with.

(still gotta finish, well ok start doing that work on the aluminum chassis)

Edit: BTW anyone heard a weather report?

Very true, but then betty.k and myself are a little biased given what happened to our bodies (well the ones on the cars anyway 😉

I’ll be bringing some spare roughed up 1:10 shells so we can have a play with the TL01 again 🙂

Still havn’t fixed the miniz chassis 🙁

I’ll bring some Race tins so everyone can have a laugh too.

    Waaaa…..

My beautiful avatar’s all deformed 🙁
100×100 is great but not when its forced onto 64×64 line art.

I’ll upload a ‘fixed’ avatar so I’l be back to my usual dashing self soon:p, but why didn’t people warn me that I’d become ugly???

Aaron down the track can we get the size of the avatar pic being upto 100×100 rather than smaller pics being streched – not urgent or anything, but it’s embarasing – and the rest of you – shame, next time warn a guy when something like that happens!

Edit: Ahhh beautiful again (tho looking pretty small now, oh well I’ll fine tune it later, I miss my 64×64 🙁

I have heard that line used in the same context a few times so I guess so.

more to the point does that mean you’re bragging about size if you’ve “Gotta see a man about a roo” :p

See page 56 of the new catalog, 🙂 but be warned just because it’s in the catalog does not mean they stock it yet. I’m still waiting for some surface mount fets, they should be in in another month 🙁 Ask them if they have them in, and if not can they give you an eta?

RE-6308 looks to be the closest fit,
    $1.66 4700uf 10V
RE-6306 might do the trick too
    $1.02 2200uf 10V

or if space is really important SMD might be more compact (I havn’t measured tho.)
    Pack of 10
    RE-5912 470uf 10V
(Join all 10 in parallel to get a ~4700uf 10V Cap)
