    I’m a self-confessed techfreak, but I still don’t understand these PDA crazies…

Like, why bother with a battery-powered fragile gadget when a pen and paper/notebook/Filofax works just as well? (if not better?)

You can’t run out of batteries, it’ll survive being sat on, being splashed by rain etc etc. There’s room to stash odd bits of paper, receipts business cards etc. And better still, you can rip out a page to scribble notes or ph.num to give your friend.

Don’t get me wrong, I think I’m the worst of the early-adopters… I’ve got an original Apple Newton MessagePad to prove for it too… but heck, its sounding like them Palmists are desperately trying to find use for their machines.

Me, I just play NMP solitaire.

Or wasn t it open to the public?

Afraid its “Trade only”, and they were pretty strict even on accompanying kids… no one allowed between 2 and 12 I think. 👿

Mainly because all stock is all openly displayed and everything available for demo, so there’s toys just lying everywhere. Definitely NOT the place you want kiddies running amok!!!

my work (grace Bros/Myer) has just recieved a shipment oif Carebears…. i refused to unpack them lol.

Yeah, they now come in Small as well as Big, not just the traditional 15″ size. And there s some weird ‘new’ ones, or maybe just redesigned. Can’t say I paid too much attention to that display… :smiley2:

but i seriously cant wait for cool 40mhz shells

Not even sure if they’ll bother changing the freqs and boxes, 50:50 chance we’ll just get the Jap freqs/box. The ones on expo display certainly were just a few of normal Jap ones. All I can see is that shopkeepers now have another line on their order sheets labelled “CharG Series 2” and stock is expected approx 2-3 mths time. Shopkeeps don’t even get to choose the models, its all listed under “various design”. Very potluck.

JNH also said there’ll be media advertising, although this may just be the same old advert shown again. Gotta watch the kiddy TV for that.

No, I said “Tomica Bit Char-G”, not “Hobbico Microsizers”. blackeye:

JNH/Funtastic are Oz agents for Tomy, not Hobbico.
Hobbico are for US only, they do not export.
Totally individual company, but for that licencing deal.

i tell you what sux JNH policy of waiting on these products to be packaged in the u.k before they get here! thats why we are last to get “official” merchandise. f.f.s we live closer to the source of bit manufacture than england, and i’m sure it would cost less to package here and then ship to e.u.

SEE my recent post re JNH… 🙂

Excess baggage is about $25/kg, if they decide to charge you. 🙁

I have Digital Video Camera but as yet don’t have the relevant hardware to get any video footage into my PC!

Last year I bought a IEEE1394 card for about $30 recently, works a treat; would be cheaper by now I’d bet. You don’t need anything fancy for a MiniDV device.

I’d also love to get one of the 1/10 HSV / HRT, Coupe or Maloo nitro cars. They look really nice! I’d be too scared to drive it in fear of scratching the paint (just like my 1:1 Clubsport 7 years old and still only 50,000 k’s on the clock 🙂 )

The chassis under those cars aren’t all that impressive… only 2WD too. Suggest better route is getting a spare body and putting it onto a half-decent chassis for a much better car at roughly the same price.

Its amazing to see them struggling for traction and peppering everything behind with dirt, grass or gravel.

    Ouch, don’t remind me.

Many years ago, I was rapt doing good ol’ donuts in gravel.
Round and round and round and round… so much smoke!!
Just about dug a hole in the backyard. 😀

Then I realised my bare shins & ankles felt like I’ve been
blasted with a shotgun… boy that hurt!!!
