    Racer,

are you speaking from experience? I agree with more cells and larger prop mod (that is in the pipe line right now) and a rudder instead of dual motor for control steering would be faster round corners less drag on the striaght too, but as for using a servo, That’s not so easy, as you would need a new transmiter and thus if you replaced that then you may as well have a servo for motor control too there aint much room in the boats, I think sevo’s are out, I like the idea of having a rudder with digital proportional control like many have done for the char-g cars, this way it stays light and small.

But I have to get my electronic knowledge up before I attempt proportional control working on building a charger with LM317 voltage regulator that I got for Dickies in a bat charger kit, at the moment, taking baby steps at a time

I’ve only just got into this hobby . ..lol 😀

    hmmm yes,

your right again what i type doesn’t alway come the way it should 🙁

find it strange because I thought the zinc-air fuel cell had a reversable process so why not make it so you can plug it into a power point. hmmmm this link might help

    http://www.metallicpower.com/pdf/backupdata.pdf

A catrige of butane doesn’t go with what I understand to be a zinc-air fuel cell I thought zinc was the fuel and due to electrolysis can reform the zinc from zinc oxide. DAMIT I’m going to ask him now whats in the cartrige 🙂

If butane is, then it sounds more like a PEMFC, shouldn’t believe everything written on ebay
    🙂

I was think the cartrige was full of zinc pellets. So I was thinking what a waste, reform them . . . anyhows soon find out 😀

Thanks for the complement on collecting micro machines 🙂

My friends think my kookoo!! hee hee

not really but they don’t understand why collect thing so small, there cheap <–some are and yes they don't take up a lot of room.

I have never got into tazo’s but they are atractive to the eye, and know some very young kids that play with them all the time, there not so bad. Just spinning tops, not aimed at the elder teenager or the 20’s living in the naughties “00-09” hee hee I love that saying no longer the 90’s it’s now the naughties!!

    yes I know,

I just thought I’d add that article to the discussion as I have never heard anyone say anything bad, environmental wise about fuel cells/hydrogen economy.

check it out fuel cell on ebay a huge 3Kw just a mere $40,000 USD!!!

    http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=2538187309&category=11771

    and

you can get a zinc air fuel cell for your phone maybe you could slap one in a rc car??

    http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=3030033364&category=20368

doesn’t look like it is rechargable?? you just buy new cartrige which sounds strange for a fuel cell. might buy one and experiment hee hee

    WOW!!

what a convo I got started hee hee!!

Man I reckon with all the money that ebay make they should pay you alot more than $4 AUD for those links!! DAMN that’s a bad deal

you should get $4 everytime someone links an ebay auction!!! it’s only like $2.50USD to them. cheapscates!! thats what they are!! have they forgot that registered uses don’t always go on ebay, but would regularly go to their favorite site ausmicro.com and then see something someonbe has refered too such as

    http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=3135476423&category=2565

imagine how many already uses of ebay have not seen it but after coming to this and reading what I have just written click on the link and place a bid!! or have a short look around after for a similar item etc

I think every link like that above is worth $4USD
    at least.

    On another note

    Aaron wrote

I know some of you may think it’s ‘selling’ out or a bit rude but really any little bit we can scrape up helps

I hate that urguement!! so many people say that A band has “soldout” when their music is used in a tv commercial or something. I say make as much money as you can whistle still giving “us” the members all the tools we need i.e forums galleries, downloads lol.

. .. . my two cents worth! hee hee

sweet dude so they are 3.8’s after all!!

I think they lack guts, i.e torque!! as a have a small pool table they seem to attempt to get to high speed but never make it as i need to turn and they dont keep up to speed on a turn maybe running one in your FET modified cars would be the go 🙂

    Hmmmm

I think I have been ripped off!! the add said 3.8 motors so I just assumed they would be 38,000 I want my money back!!

IF something is too good to be true, IT’S BECAUSE IT IS!!! :O(

but den again 2.6 motor sell for $12, i bought a lot of 20 for $3.50 each, money saved and I suppose I now got some motors to experiment life cycle vs voltage hee hee!!

hmm now I’m extra keen to start two projects, a decent charger and uA’s micro dyno!! would be very kewl

    feeewww,

I’m begining to think that i was silly to buy them since it doesn’t exactly say that the motor is a 3.8 perfection or equivent etc, I don’t think I’m silly for expecting them to run at 38,000rpm?? do you??

Anyhows. . If someone can identify that motor in the picture, would be greatly appriecated as that is what I received, white end cap with a small contact, and the side of the motor is the other contact. as per norm.

    Hey guys,

I just bought a whole heap of 3.8 motors of ebay, I justr received them, got them heaps cheap but now am skeptical if they really are 3.8 motors :O(. They don’t seem any faster than my standard motors I got in my bensu clones :O(

They have a white end cap and a small contact at that same end. I’m a little disapointed, I guess a change in gearing is needed 🙂

    yeah,

you can pick them up on ebay as low as $12US ea but its the postage to aussie that is the killer. Better off buying in bulk hence why i bought 2 at same time. I bought mine $28US for 2 i.e 14US ea, + postage. So you can see it doesn’t take much to increase the unit price and den it costing you $35 AUD ea ;o).

    Interesting??

So like the cops could have a crack down on illegal rc car racing!!, just like they do for real cars {haa haa} dats funny!!

but seriously what is go with that?? I bet every member of this website has a 27Mhz or 57Mhz rc car. That they bought in a shop??

As for the comment charg only have 20m range, lots of people are modifying there bits to the point where they have much higher range. Sooooo what range is too strong?? or is it where you use it? what kinda equipement will they interfere with? I just assumed they could only interfere with cordless home phones and stuff people don t care too much about??

I have some of those mini boats they run 27 and 49 they have 9v battery in controller and give much better range than the mini cars!! I have not tested it’s range but from experience i have a feeling it could be about 50M is that too much?
