Terminator 3 runs on a FC, he must “breath” oxygen just like humans now, hee hee.
. . . . movie only states he contains hydrogen
does anyone know if these new generation zipzaps are going cost??
you need Ausmicro stubby holders!! I get one of them!!
measuring .5sec on a .25 sec tolerance is the same as saying that an oylmpic swimming pool is 50M long + or – 12.5M.
Not very accuract I’m glad to see some sensors where used to state such a small time scale.
How did you manage to time it and get a result of .5 secs?? obviously not a hand held stop watch?? major human error involved!!
do you have a link to such a “car kit”?
Quote:some clones r better than Tomy madeyeap :approve:. . . . .
So far I have only bought clones. . .
under normal circumstances I don’t sponsor reverse engineering but tomy have had a long time to developement better steering/throttle control, they are not the leaders in the top motors either.
I’m thinking a Holden/HRT microRC car needs to be added to my collection I’m off to Kmart now :smiley2:
YAY!!
Got email from battrieswholesale.com.au, they are sorry for dely in shipping time and are going to give me extra cells in compensation.
My boats will soon have a quad mod
GT
Quote:puchi electronics seems abit of a waste for a tub tankerI think these little fella’s have great potential for racing in pool or pond ;o). just like the bit char-g cars they can be modded to your hearts content. puchi electronics is not a bad idea in my mind but it will be a later than sooner mod for me.
Still waiting for batteries to turn up from http://www.batterieswholesale.com.au grrrrrr nearly three weeks!!!
Barto
Quote:ahh, they’re pretty small. do they have a motor similar to BCG motors, it would have to be bigger to power them through the water. how big are the motors? The motors are exactly the same size as the BCG motors the only difference is that the end caps has two wires attached instead of contacts for power. The motors are direct drive to the propellors.
BTW, I have ordered a few extra’s from america this time round, I don’t think they are available for retail in aussie. I was going to put them on ebay soon (once arrived), but if ur interested I can sell before listing, cost $40ea or two for $70 :smiley2:, frequencies can be either be 27Mhz or 49Mhz you choose. send me a PM if interested.
So whats the go now trackmaster???
have you made anymore observations?? or have you got it going now??
thats amazing!!
Your a man of my tastes!! I am on here with the intent on building up my knowledge of all things elect. etc etc. to eventually do this!! a mini helicopter makes me very excited!!
I decided I should take one step at a time towards this goal tho, as I haven’t even built an rc plan or boat anything that requires a little knowledge and skill of any type in my life nor know anyone who has .
first step for me was going to be a bit plane, but really wanted to figure out how to build digital proportional steering first, lots of info here and on tinyrc for this mod and other usefull mods. Thus the plane would have some worthy control and to be honest before I build a plane, I am going to build a hovercraft, to become farmiliar with the motor/propellors assembly etc. these are long term goals, :D. . . . and before I even do that I wanted a decent charger i.e be able to charge at diff voltage and current rates of my choice all off rotatory dials inc. timer. . . now this project is actually getting somewhere!! I have a charger and thus far is behaving as the kit from dicksmith describes . .
Anyhows goodluck with your project and let us know how you go . . . I love the comment “i can do it i know i can”. . . did you know the guy who invented the helicopter when asked why did you do it his answer was “nobody told me I couldn’t?” I love that motto
anyhows keep us posted . . is this your first bit project?
Ohh No!!
not another 🙁
well we will need more info, but for starters
check you put your new battery in the correct way.
you have brand new batteries on your transmitter.
WOW!! what a problem car!!
would be great to finally find out what is wrong with the little bugger!!
maybe the little motor just aint strong enough to push it along when it’s on the ground . . .
but then one would assume you have already tried to make it work off the controller held in your hand?? if it don’t work then it’s not the motor?
when you say that “two controllers” have been used, while the car was on both controllers you could make it function but once off it wont?? both controllers have brand spankin new batteries in them, and so does your car(one you can trust from another car perhaps?) . .
. . . .If this is true you got me beat???
. . . it still sounds like there is not enough voltage to charge the cars battery but enough to make the car run.
Phanks Ph2t :smiley2:
Weapon,
can anyone who has ordered from these guys (aussuming u bought the sample pack) the shipping cost and how long it took to get to u?
I bought some 1/4aaa’s a while back and they got to me super speed i.e. order friday received monday!!
this time they I still haven’t received and ordered last week, but I think this is not a regular occurance, also I think when you buy there sample pack the price includeds delivery. anywhere in the world too!!
man dats one evil 👿 car!!
I haven’t even bought a clone like that!!. . . . . well yet anyhows . . hee hee :smiley2:
uA’s,
Quote:The NiMHs in BCGs dont fully dischargedoes the radio gear continue to drain the battery? or is that where 0.7Volts comes from, radio gear only works when .7V or greater is there?
talldude
Quote:is this one too large to fit in a micro??I have some 1/3aaa’s on the way for my mini rc boat, but I don’t think they will fit in the standard battery terminal of a bcg, I have clones which all have a rather large empty space inbetwwen the battery terminal and the front steering assembly, enough room to place one of those 1/3aaa’s. Only do this if your interested in soldering batteries etc.as you will need too. Every battery on that website states it’s dimensions in mm so just measure the inside of your bcg to see where you can fit the batteries you wish, I managed to squeze 4x 1/4aaa’s batteries into my clone, but have taken on other projects since :dead: that are more exciting and necessary. i.e charger :p
Oww I just have to post again!!
got nothing important to say except I’m no longer a newcomer!! I’m now a occasional poster :D:D:D WOOOOHOOOOO I’m coming up in the world !!!
Did you change the batteries in the controller/transmitter thingy???, the AA’s or AAA’s I think some are, maybe the batteries in the controller are not so good and are able to supply the car with enough voltage to get the car to move it’s wheels etc. but not enough to enable the battery inside the car to charge. As the battery inside the car need more than say 1.3Volts across it’s terminals to charge. But the cars wheels etc will spin at much lower voltages such as .9Volts or even lower actually if it is on the controller. prob .5Volts make it spin
. . . . or . . . .
Could it be a reception fault?? try waveing your controller round very close to the car (after a charging session with new AA’s or AAA’s) including touching the cars arial with the transmitter arial with forward button depressed. If it decides to twig at all that would mean you have faulty radio gear .
Hope this helps :smiley2:
So that means that Nicads are better for BCG unless you put in a switch to turn the car off. I think I’m right in saying that NimH cells generally hold more energy though, but what you say is an obvious down side esp. for BCG!!
curiosity killed
thanks :smiley2:
Maybe they test charge them before selling? the ones that don’t hold their charge they throw away, I’m not sure really??
ohh yes I have multi meter :smiley2:
Thanks Micro Amps that helps,
I will take baby steps, There still seems to be alot more learning for me to do, So i will build it and experiement as your description.
I hope ph2t and your self will rest easy tonight I am not in a hurry to complete this project:smiley2:. I figured it was about time I took on something a little challengeing. My father is an electrician I’m sure he can help me but he happens to be on the other side of the world(literatley!!) at the moment and won’t be back for a few weeks yet. Thought I might impress him If I got it done before hand though :shy: . . I certaintly will keep you posted thanks again:D
Hi Ph2t,
you sound like the man for my question :D. Or anyone else who would like to answer :smiley2: I bought a k-2808 regulated power supply from dick smith. 1.2V To 37.5V and max 1.5A
excuse my ignorance, as I though these kits where made for little kiddies and it would take me like two seconds to put it together. Even with my lack of electronic knowledge.
I bought it so I can vary voltage and current, so I can charge my bits depending on dual, tri cell, single cell modded cars, and also choose between a slam charge or a more gentle one. From the description on the pack, this kit is meant to do that as it states it on the front page quote “combined voltage/current limiting” anyhows that is what made me buy it :p
But now that I have opened the kit and there is only one varaible resistor . And after reading the 6 page essay they supply with the kit. I think I have figured out the following. . . excuse my lack of elecrical terms etc. first time tech building hee hee
Number One:
I can vary the voltage by varying the resistor that sits between the “adj.” terminal of Volt reg LM317 and “voltage out”(which is ground on the load side).
Number two:
I can vary the current by varing the resistor that sits between the “Out” terminal of the Volt reg. LM317 and the DC out terminal(which is the + terminal on the load side)
I know there is a alot of other components in the circuits which manage to link up the out terminal with the adj. etc. etc. but I thought that was the easiest way to put it.
I Think those two statements are true obviously it would help you a lot to answer my question if I posted a schematic but I can’t .
Don’t be two fussed if you don’t understand I have some people I can ask, just that there not here right now :smiley2:
Also read in some forum, that using linear variable resistors are not so good as when you want to change current/voltage by a small notch at the lower and upper range of the resistor it becomes touchy. Is there such thing as a non-linear resistor?? did you have this problem?
Ultimately I would like 2 dials one to turn up or down the voltage and the other for current.
Clear as Mud??? :p
thanks in advance:D
ow I see now, I didn’t know what a puchi maru until I typed it into google. but the price i found them at was $100USD 😯
I’m a cheapscate I’ve only ever bought BCG clones price range $5.50 to the $15.00 AUD. I am enjoying the modifications so I am contempt with building my own prop control one day (hopefully sooner than later). I feel as I am stud eng. the learning curve might come in handy one day career wise. 😀 an extra bonus for the extra time invested. rather spend big amounts of dough on kiteboarding/windsurfer/scuba/snowbarding/wakeboarding/4Wdrivin etc.
Anyone else heard of the term S#%TLOAD SPORTS. I use it to refer to sports that require a S@#TLOAD of preperation before you can have some fun. and that definition just about fits every sport I have ever got into. 🙁 anyone else find themselves in the same trap?
