Ok then well I’ve been working on the headlights and it’s gonna be tricky to be able to mount them properly.

One thing is the the shell is quite translucent and if I’m gonna use some very bright white leds, I don’t want their light bleeding out of the chassis in all directions.

So I’ve started coating the inside of the shell with a thick black enamel. It will need two coats to even out the finish and give me total blackout. I’ve done this before onm other cars with great results.

Incidentaly you can see the dark blue colour the shell was before I ran out of that colour and ended up using the lighter peal blue…Work well all things considering…

I need to apply another coat to ensure clean lines around the lights.

I don’t know if many of you add lights to your cars. I like to ’cause they look cool and you can do some serious driving at night and at times in pitch black. It’s freaky to know that the lights on you car are more than enough to be able to see half the room.

I’ll need to let this enamle dry for a few days before gluing white leds to it.

correct! even though the site is an international one why is it that only this international visitor wants a ZZ forum? there’s many non-aus users who have never requested a ZZ forum and that’s the way it should be.

charlie, you’re in my home now so don’t rattle the cage

How did you charge it? If you used the controller then yes, you won’t get an improvement.

You need to make a custom charger using 4*AA batteries. Preferably a 5W 1 Ohm WireWound resistor as well just to limit the current a bit and protect the AA’s and you car’s battery as well.

I can only infer from the toyeast site that they run on the 3 “channels”. The TOMY SBCG controllers are channel selectable, eg A,B or C. The LXX Super controllers aren’t.

As for running on the freq I’m not sure. I currently don’t have a working 40mhz controller. I do know though that the 40B super LXX car responds to my Smartland Micro MCV controller (the Smartlan tanks at toyeast) at 40Mhz so go figure……:approve:

THe size of the chassis is the same. What were square corners are now bevelled edges so in that respect it’s more efficient in the space it takes up.

The TOMY shells have the same issue in fitting like the 1st gen LXX’s. The front tab on the chassis is too wide and needs to be filled down a couple of mm on each side to fit.
