*laughs* Yeah we all want to know about the Tx….

Spare damper stays will be available from ausmicro.com shortly, still plastic but cheap fixes until we can get a reliable cheap supply of alloy versions.

Prolly about $170ish…. I should add ofcourse that the price above is all expenses paid landed in AU complete with a cut for ausmicro.com – the ‘cost’ price is lower but we gotta pay duty blah blah blah ….

Nelly is still the ‘best’ option for outright performance, what I’m trying to provide are ideas and alternatives that are a little cheaper (or a lot cheaper in this case) that deliver a noticable performance boost over stock FETs with good durability to handle most off-the-shelf warm motors not some of the customer wound hybrids some peopel are using 😉

Obviously it does come down to testing, and as I’ve just placed my FET order for the month it’ll be Jan before this moves forward. Probably to be tested in a MZM/iWav04

For info, I have an IW04 coming in the group buy so we’ll see how well FET modding works on that board 😉

I belive the 02 type of chassis is vastly better than the 01 for handling…

So how does it rate against the X-Mods ph2t?

Aaron’s & Kittys Plans: Shelved due to illness and fiscal poverty – As I’ve alluded to I’m feelign the pinch of multiple bills and a few other expenses.

Resolution: To step ausmicro.com up to version 3.0 and get the online store happening, and hopefully moving stock 😉

To get a little plan that BitHed and I have been working on together off the ground… YEAH BABY!

leonli17, the FETs are rated to 20v…. but it’s not about the voltage they’re switching, but the voltage level used to ‘trigger’ their switching.

If you were using 7.4v to trigger them you’d get a lower “on resistance” of about 0.05ohms down from about 0.062ish ohms

The SI4562DY I believe remain around the 0.06 ohm area but I’d have to check the datasheets again and can’t find my printed version at this instant….

OK guys I’ve queued two orders with TE (getting around the restriction on iWaver02, 04 availability) and there’s a couple of items that aren’t available at the moment, they’re basically the steering wheel sponge and the stainless antenna pack.

I am waiting for a definite answer from TE about these so deposit the full amount. I will refund if I can’t get the bits.

Essentially we have a few days to get the cash landed before I have to do the transfer to TE. So please please please do it sooner rather than later.

    OK…
I’m declaring the opportunity to get in on the Group buy CLOSED.

If everyone could make payment for their list of items ASAP. http://www.ausmicro.com/banking.asp has the details.

Thanks to the exchange rate (everyones price is calculated at the same exchange rate) being better than expected, and the buy getting up to a good size I’ll use any ‘extras’ to get faster shipping and pay for the shipping around the place. (ie z-beams, Jamie, etc etc)

mocky, yes they’re functionally identical according to the spec sheets. They do have different characteristics when dealing with the lower drive voltage that mini-Z electronics provides but ultimately end up being the ‘same’ at the voltages measured by ph2t.

    The advantges are:
The lower “on resistance” means that the FETs
    – Don’t heat up as much.
    – Run your motor a little harder (less wasted power in the FETs)

They apparently have a better surge profile at first switch on two which makes them marginally more agreesive ‘off the line’.

The great this is the price we can do them for considering the performance. To me the USD2.00 seems to be where most others end up as a minimum and in all honesty there’s no need for them to be priced so high.
