R/C from about 1980ish….But only really got into the cool R/C stuff in 1996/97

Site Owner Guy.Yeah if you’re in AU make sure you read the page and not click the PayPal buttons automatically!
I haven’t fully ‘launched’ the system though some text needs cleaning up and clarificatiosn made.

Site Owner Guy.Yearly – Will make that obvious (as it’s not really mentioned)
Everything you pay in a year is cumulative – so you can ‘advance’ up the levels as you want.
When we approach next year people can assess their ideas of support again!
Basically I want to be able to pay for decent web hosting which ain’t cheap – and we need to get a consistent income each year becuase I can’t afford the $2500 odd it costs 🙁 The current $1000 odd is bad enough!

Site Owner Guy.*nods* I like the concept and love some of the engineering – but they’re heavy 😉

Site Owner Guy.Given I’ve only seen/touched dgs73’s Xmod (ie I don’t have much experience with them) I would wonder the worth of modding on of those things?
Heavy little buggers.

Site Owner Guy.It’s all in the pronouciation.
There’s:
“mate”
“maaaaaaaaate”
“mmmmmmmmate”etc and they all mean different things 😉 the funny things is that most Aussies know exactly what “mate” means when said to the them, ie it’s not just becuase we can’t be stuffed saying “Could you please pass me the shifting spanner over there, no not that one the one to the left” it’s becuase we’re kinda like a borg and know what each other is thinking when in groups.

Site Owner Guy.The nuts are alloy 2mm locking nuts, we’re getting silver and black at the moment. They are “ausmicro.com” brand. Made by a company that supplies stuff for RCRM 3Racing etc etc …
The bearings are lubed, regular Mini-Z MR-01 bearings. I haven’t looked at a MR-02 to know if they can use the same bearing sets (must get a MR-02 first)
Kitsune, at the moment I’m not running a shopping cart system on the site because with only a very very small number of products coming available at the moment it’s a bit of overkill, that and I have other coding priorities.
What mount do you want… the only alloy MR-01 mount I’ve used was pretty but basically destroyed ground clearance. It was a ‘sample’ from a HK company but I can get GPM or other brands too, sometimes pricing can be a bit errr ‘interesting’ as wholesalers can usually supply products but often don’t offer good low volume pricing for people outside of HK.
I hope with everything we end up selling people will see the pricing and think “it’s fair” and understand why we charge what we do.

Site Owner Guy.Merc, price up a real basic transofrmer from tricky dickies/jaycar and then get a big diode bridge and a couple of caps and knock one up yourself. Becuase you’re only using it to runn a charger you may find that it’s mucho cheaper.
Other option: 8A car battery charger, usually puts out enough voltage and current to act as a cheapo supply.
Both these presume you don’t want some mega clean nice stable 12v but rather something slightly over 12v (13.8ish) and with the kick of a mule.

Site Owner Guy.The MadForce (Mini-Z Monster) is looking like a great fun platform for rougher running and still great speed. (Just add Nelly and stacks of GPM parts).
I’m quite Interested in the Mini-T concept… but see a Monster on the Horizon!
