If I said there was a ausmicro.com built solution to this coming soon would you all be happy?
In the men time (and for those who have more extensive collections) I belive Digitalpose.com lets you do this.

Site Owner Guy.We’re still nutting out the how’s of the racing – for Mini-Z it’s easy with the swappable xtals… For Bits there may be races with timing so that people on the same frequency with their competition cars can still get a guage on each others abilities!
The most important thing is the venue is Booked and time set!
See you all there!

Site Owner Guy.Most definately no need for a gaming forum here as such – but as we’re a pretty large community now I can understand members being curious about other members gaming habits.
I guess with the advent of Broadband at fair prices the ability to play massively networked multiplayer games means that every forum is a possible avenue to meet a new team member as well 😉
*laughs*
I’m still wondering why people think I have the great job… Being in a position where anylising games for their simulation merits as opposed to the enjoyment factor quickly makes it hard to enjoy any game.
I’m just lucky that while I do a lot of the setup and a lot of the playing/testing I actually don’t have to produce the paperwork at the end of the day.

Site Owner Guy.*nods* after ausmicro.com moves into its new premises (read Aaron is moving house) I’ll strip the Baja down. On the beach run it borker a drive shaft and los t a drive cup so it’s a little worse for wear.
But hey that’s why I bought it! *grins*

Site Owner Guy.Well guys we have a date, a booked indoor venue and we have at least me coming from Interstate… I’m sure Kitty will come too so that makes 2 people from interstate… check the new Sticky thread in General…

Site Owner Guy.Quick Reply missing? Never 😉
Just yet another thing that needed to be turned on. (While the site is up I’m still having to turn features on and off manually).
At this stage there is still a little bit of stuff to be done – but none of it affects the operation of the site.
The good news is that hopefully next week I’ll rebuild the database in such a way that things get even faster! Yes folks two speed improvements in a week! Scary isn’t it!
I’ve already switched my mind away from the upgrade of the cade and am working on finishing the next big new feature! In a couple of weeks it shall be revealed assuming I get over some coding problems.

Site Owner Guy.The Polls module is now switched on again. Some silly pumpkin *looking in Aaron’s direction* forgot to turn them on!
--
Site Owner Guy.Polls exist but they’re in a new section of the database becuase all the poll code is new.
Unfortunately I’m not able to import/export the polls between the two at the moment.

Site Owner Guy.DaveF is alive and well, but work and family pressures are working against him spending time with his hobbies.

Site Owner Guy.The problem with 1942 is that while it has the potential it simply doesn’t have the controlablity or adaptability of something like OpFlashpoint/Resistance.
My work is pretty normal desktop and server management for about 50% of my time the other 50% is spent working with research goals…
My tip is to advise people who want to do stuff like this is to work for obscure places like Universities, it’s not the big bucks, but if you’re good you will get to have a broad and interesting job.

Site Owner Guy.The Fairladys have been discontinued for some time in Japan apparently – so they’re hard to get. I’ll let Steve know that if he gets a chance he shoudl grab a couple 😉

Site Owner Guy.Now I know why i removed the Personal Ads module out of the code in the new stuff 😉 Trackmaster would be in trouble if his wife found out there was a dating section as well 😉

Site Owner Guy.*laughs* as much as I appreciate the sentiment on the profits it’s not a policy. Rather – if you have a business and would like to promote it please buy some banner advertising. It’s cheap, very cheap!
There’s plenty more people besides me who deserve the thanks, Derek ofcourse for his efforts and support (although we don’t see him much today he’s still a big part of ausmicro.com) without him we’d only be half the site we are now!
Thanks also have to go to our Moderators, Shypo, Pandabear, KittyKatSmack who take a lot of the load off my shoulders. Their efforts have just made the community stick together.
Steve at Trading Direct who some 6 months ago now stepped up with a very generous support package that has made it possible to stay up and running. Everyone shoudl take the time to suport Trading Direct as they have really made a difference to the site you see today.
And finally it’s you, the ausmirco.com members that make the entire site work. Without the hundreds of you checking the forums and the site each day, spreading the word through other forums and the like we would simply not have achieved these dizzy heights!
So in short thanks for the thanks but don’t forget to pat yourselves on the back!
Oh and if you’re in Sydney or can get to Sydney for the First Trading Direct ausmicro.com Bit and Mini-Z Race Meet in June DO IT!

Site Owner Guy.*laughs* Yeah I know – but then again if I spent less time coding, and doign other stuff I’d probably have a post count like Shypo… Heck I could just tweak my stats anyway 😉

Site Owner Guy.I’m very lucky that part of my day job involves the development of ways to use computer gaming for real life trainging in various environments.
So on a good day we get to sit in one of our labs, playing games and generally having a very interesting time.
Fragging sucks though 🙁 It happens even in a research environment, although we call it friendly fire 😉

Site Owner Guy.*laughs* I should one day get a BIO up online.. Yes I’m an IT guy … Most of my stuff is self taught – I don’t do web stuff as my day-to-day job. The sites I run (ausmicro.com and neon-owners.org) exist becuase I’m interested and have tools and time to learn enough to be dangerous 😉
Sadly yes the bils are that big. Typically we use about 1Gb of disk space and have traffic exceeding 5Gb each and every month. Even ‘unlimited’ providers baulk at hosting that!
Without the support of Trading Direct we would have been off-air a long time ago!

Site Owner Guy.*laughs* considering I just paid the EUR90 hosting bill for next month Shypo had better not run away with my baby 😉

Site Owner Guy.Oh and just as a note – I’ve been testing the new code and spending a heap of time on the development site and everytime I come back to the actual running site I’m amazed at how ‘clunky’ it feels in comparison. Yes think you’ll all be impressed 😉

Site Owner Guy.As mentioned now in the Notice posts Friday Aussie time is the day. Should take a few hours to back up the existing site – then about 2 hours to rebuild the database and finally a couple of hourse to upload!

Site Owner Guy.Well the answer to most of the questions will be in the new thread I start today but in short.
There will be no chat.
The exisiting avatars will be available in the new design although they will look a bit chunky. I expect people like DaveF will resend me bunches of new ones that I will make available in an easy to select manner. (like the current code) as well as you guys havign the freedom to use your own custom ones.
The blues are much softer and more freindly – plus there’s only 3 other colour combos at the moment with a few more to come.
We also have a terrific new feature I’m working on with the help of Ringodingo that will revolutionise micro R/C websites world wide!

Site Owner Guy.I may overhaul both the titles and the post counts to get to them…. I don’t know yet.
As for the title that Shypo would be – I think that kicks in 1500 and I’d have to look it up 😉

Site Owner Guy.awww errr ummmmm – I dug out my two speed about 3 months ago 😉
I started work on the rebuild of the site at the start of April and been pretty full on into that since.

Site Owner Guy.I would suggest avoiding Turbo until you’re well and truely used to car ownership… a NA Silvia isn’t a bad car for the bucks and with some we planned mods would move quite well without costing you mega bucks…
Just my thoughts… You’ll get raped for insurance otherwise 😉

Site Owner Guy.I have this idea that perhaps they’d be ideal to set up for computer controlled racing ;0 a bit like Robot Soccer 😉
