Yes, your pics are cycled in that limit of five.
Once things are established a big I may look at changing the limit but while I’m still gathering data on the use/server load 5 it is 😉
The next new user feature should help with pictures for Forum useage though!

Site Owner Guy.Impreza I’ll fix your double ‘zz’s today 😉
The files are reprocessed once uploaded so that they’re locked into a 640×480 size. I’ve set the limit at 1MB per file int he upload though.
--
Site Owner Guy.NOte Only JPG (JPEG) files will work with the system!
--
Site Owner Guy.Only if we move another 4Gig a month of them!
In all seriousness it’s been accounted for.
--
Site Owner Guy.Oh and yes you can use gallery images in the forums or anythign on the ausmicro.com domain.
limited use in other forums is OK – but I’d much rather people posted links to their galleries 😉

Site Owner Guy.Yep. Sorry I’ve rushed the coding finished and left out a few links and the like. The progress bar is waiting for a fix by our ISP – the server cannot current pass back the progress levels to the script.
Yes you have to wait until I manually approve the accounts – at the moment i’m doing this to prevent people from creating stacks of accoutns 😉
There are links back to ausmicro.com on the pages – clicking on the title bar, and also in the left hand menus.
I will be adding links from http://www.ausmicro.com back to the Members Gallery once we’ve got it all nice and prettied up 😉
I have to refine some of the code to improve a few functions and ofcourse make things better. There’s a lot of stuff that’s very new to me in the coding.

Site Owner Guy.Barto, Have a look at the gallery I have there…. http://members.ausmicro.com/memberview.asp?user=aaron for an idea on how it could be used.
Once you’ve applied and I create the access for you all you need to do is click the Edit link on the lefthand side and upload pics and stuff!

Site Owner Guy.The other interesting fact is that the reason the thing burned so hot was actually the magnesium and other metals in the coating (ie that Dope) that gave the dirigible the silver finish.

Site Owner Guy.Internations went today – customs forms in triplicate!
*grins* Trackmaster can have the title of being the most expensive shirt delivery at AU20.00 but it shoudl be with you quite soon. Closely followed by Imprezza with AU17.00 and Jord001 picking up the rear with AU14.00

Site Owner Guy.The 5kb limit isn’t actually imposed. However if I extend the functionality to ally people to upload avatars onto our server for use I will be locking down the file size!
At the moment all we ask if that people be considerate and if it gets too much abuse I can/will make changes to stop the abuse!

Site Owner Guy.I honestly don’t think they’re good for culling the e-mails guys!
I mean I’d love to be able to do it but it will require a lot of flagging of extra stuff. I’ll see if someone has released a mod for the code that does it rather than cook it up myself.
If there isn’t I’ll start working on figuring out what and how I need to hack stuff 😉

Site Owner Guy.I know KItty has already said this, but I have to remind you that we need addresses from a few people!
Bithed! DaveF! GT-Ahh! Shypo!
Step up to the plate guys – we can’t send the shirts if we don’t know where you live.
Shypo – no man I won’t let people send the heavies to break your fingers to cull your posting rate – your address is safe with us!
Bithed, Kitty tells me she’s hungry for her new car in time for the race day 😉
DaveF – MIA a bit here – but please drop me/Kitty an e-mail/PM with the addy – we need a pic of you next to your Mega Famous track!
GT-Ahh – I know you can’t wait until the race day – you must get the shirt now 😉
Team colours everyone, show up in your team colours 😉

Site Owner Guy.No not a chatroom 😉 Expect details to be revealed on Friday with it opening on Monday perhaps?
I still have a bunch of coding to do before it goes live!
--
Site Owner Guy.The video is very popular 😉 like most things on ausmicro.com they get good regualr traffic.
I haven’t heard back from the site leeching….

Site Owner Guy.Avatars:
I’ve deleted a couple today. ANd I’ve fixed the links for a couple (extra http:// was in the link…..--
Site Owner Guy.I think the only way the current code lets avatars be used is through the admin functions. Just let me know the avatar names in a PM and I’ll remove them
--
Site Owner Guy.I hope that people will bring any and everyone variety of Mini and Micro R/C they have 😉
--
Site Owner Guy.*laughs* I understand the Kitty is coming – as well as myself – that makes an ACT based contingent 😉
--
Site Owner Guy.yup the shoddy white plastic ended ones….
They’re just not up to the task…
--
Site Owner Guy.That’s right – we will be merchandising through CafePress. each item makes ausmicro.com a teeny amount of revenue.
There will be some exclusive and new designs up there soon…
In the mean time please take a look by clickign the links.
--
Site Owner Guy.I have to hand import the polls which could be very very difficult – I’ll do some checking into it.
--
Site Owner Guy.There’s a small glitch in that becuase we imported the user info (post counts) from the pre-January Forum code, but couldn’t import the ~20000 posts there.
I’m hopefull that one day I’ll devise a way to do it but the two database back ends are so completely different that it’ll give me an ulcer if I think about it too hard!
--
Site Owner Guy.Yup – please think about other users when linking in your avatars, they do slow the Forums down for some people on slower modems (like me when at home).
Hope you all enjoy the new freedom. The next big new feature is even better!

Site Owner Guy.OK here’s the OFFICIAL line on it.
This thread and threads like it are fine in moderation. If any one topic becomes the main topic of discussion in the General Forum we will consider creating a new forum just for that topic. It could be any topic not just about R/C cars.
However there’s no topic that really generates that much traffic in General Discussion to warrant that at this stage.
So everyone please continue to post here about things other than R/C – but please try to follow the basic rule of making the Subject Header clear so people know what the topic is about.
I will be asking the Moderators to edit subject headers to ensure that topics are clear if necessary.
I don’t like having to edit posts, and I think you’ll all agree we give a fair bit of latitude on ausmicro.com to let things go. All we ask in return is that the same respect be given to all members including Moderators.
When a Moderator does post as a Moderator it will be made very clear in the first line of the post – or in the ‘edit’ so that everyone can see. Other than that we’re all just normal members.
Now back to the Gaming!
