Just to correct you there Shypo, a 180SX is a RWD like the Silvia/200SX just an earlier model and different body style. A Sentra is more like the NX-Coupe we got here at the same time as the N14 series Pulsars (1992-1996 I think)…

As for the slag about Neons – I have to say that mine was neither slow or crappy and could easily waste the euqivalent Pulsar SSS (140hp DOHC like the Sentra SE-R)…. I guess it’s all about doing the right mods and not wasting the extra power/torque through bolting on ricey rims 😉

    No worries Cabo….. link=like….

It’s my pet hate of peopole posting links up to stuff that they can’t afford to host long term – to many good resources go missing over time.

Consider it not hosted but linked from our downloads section…

Yeah – at the moment I’m leaning towards Imprezzas option – although there’s always the ability to swap the videos with something more appropriate to his site.

*laughs* Well that’s the hard bit – deciding what categories to have – if any ;0 – and their cut in points.

Overall there’s no more Gold or rep points in the new code but post counts stay for sure.

Avatars will now be 64×64 pixels and all will be reset when we go to the new code. You will be able to link to an avatar you have hosted elsewhere on the Internet or use one of our existing ones.

There is a lot less blue in the new code 😉 And the other available colour schemes all work well.

    Other news?

Well not much to report things are progressing as well as I had planned – although we’re now at the tough end of the development spectrum.

    Thanks for the input 🙂

I’ll start looking out for Chat stuff (if it comes it will be as a new feature after the rest of the new stuff comes on stream)

As for the Forum additions…. I wouldn’t like to add more – but instead shall probably sit down with the Moderators and we’ll see what and how we can change existing forums to make other types for appropriate!

Chat is something I could probably incorporate – it would require a few things to be hacked in the code and some half decent security features … I’ll look into it.

Ofcourse the side issue of people talking in chat and then not actally posting stuff could be an issue 😉

*grins* I think it’ll be neck and neck, I know Steve from Trading Direct has pre-ordered a lot of stock so I’m sure he’ll have the new cars as soon as possible too.

I’m just happy that there’s good local sources for the cars and the almost insane pricing of the early days is over. If it’s kept affordable more people will be able to afford to participate.

Hell I was in GoLo the other day trying to track down their $12 Bullets to do some conversions myself 😉 (Aaron wants to make a fun car)

    Hi All,
Just a few notes, The Blue is sort of a ‘trademark’ colour for ausmicro.com, that doesn’t mean it’s here forever but for now it’ll be around a little longer. As others have already suggested you can adjust the colour scheme through the Control Panel.

The logo – well yes it’s a Lancer, and i like it, but in all honesty it appears only on the website banners and in time may go missing all together. It’s hard to reproduce effectively except on the web.

*laughs* Actually the logo is Dereks doing.

The Lancer will only ever appear on the website logos and doesn’t appear on any of the merchandise or stickers.

I expect in time we will actually drop the Lancer, and use the plain logo – which as others have already pointed out will be around for a long while to come. A bit like the blue hued website.

However there are some changes coming in the few weeks.month as I update code and stuff 😉

Yeah hopefully everyone had as good a time today with the Rabbit sourced gifts that I’ve had.

I”ve been up with my Parents (and GF) since last week enjoying a much needed break).

The roads (some 2000km have passed under the Clio since leaving Canberra) are filled with holiday makers, they’re all slighty bonkers so if you’re driving take care!

    A.

mmmm interesting on the shocks front as the Frictions are a dead set match in length/travel for the ones currently on my TA03…

Better to just find the longer (non “mini”) CVAs or some other company’s shockers made for buggy. You want more than 1cm travel anyway… check how much your shocks limit the suspension travel now.

Well as of today I did the deed with the oil shockers. Using a set of 4 OP519 oilers. I built them in 70mm length configuration and they have a full 16mm of travel as per the tamiya guide. I’m running the stocker Baja Champ springs as the road car springs I had spare (all these where knocked up from parts off the ’03) and the car sits nice and high on them and it has excellent travel – to bottoming out the chassis pretty much.

If the seals have a finite life that’s OK they’re fairly cheap and considering it cost about $10 in parts to make a set of 4 oilers from my ‘junk’ it seems like a good deal.

The interesting thing was that when I was gutting the used ones I already had was noticing that they all had different vavling fitted … Guess when I get back from holidays I’m rebuiling the set on the ’03 to make sure the previous owner didn’t stuff them up 😉 (I never stripped them down when I rebuilt it)

I think I have to clean up the gearboxes in teh Baja too, but that can wait until after it gets cained on holidays 😉

We are involved in a few ways – I’ve just sent Barell another PM today that gives a few ideas on how we (ausmicro.com) can help facilitate the running of competition in a manner that gives everyone a clear area to do it.

We’ll also be offering to ‘host’ the images for people in their own specific members.ausmicro.com/logonname area. I’m still ramping through some final backend stuff before I can really say much more.

Usually the legs fatigue off. HardCore racers like Pada change them for each meet usually so they cop a lot of stress.

I’ve had to replace one or two in my time becuase of this…
