Quote:Originally posted by Mr_X on 18October2002Hi im a newbie to the bit char g world,i live in Australia and i am considering buying a bit char g car soon just wondering if anyone knows:
2) What a good car to get would be?
3) And what engine?
2) This is all about personal preference. Most chose their Bit Char-G by looks. For example, the Toyota Supra is an awesome looking car (and it is in real life too) and it’d be top of my list if I was starting to buy Bit Char-G now. No one car is better then another when first bought – well not really anyway.
3) Well you can choose from 1.0, 1.6, 2.2, 2.6 and 3.0 official Tomy motors. If you want an all-rounder, try either the 1.6 or the 2.2. For speed get yourself a 3.0 – but they are difficult to keep under constant contorl and prone to spin out.
Hope this helps!? Welcome to the world of Bit Char-G :smiley4:

In an Anne Summers catalogue? :smiley2:

They thought it was “cute” and wanted one for themselves.
I wonder how many will go home and buy them though!? ‘Cute’ is the only apeal the Bit Char-G has to women.

Anyone buy japanese manga just for the toy ads??

One _big_ drawback of BCG is that there doesn’t seem to be any attraction to Girls. Yeah, girls… haven’t seen any play BCG yet. Whereas with Mini4WD, there were actually girls playing them too. Plus they had a manga drama following too, that’ can’t hurt.
The only thing that swims in the Thames is Sainsbury shopping trolleys!
I don’t buy manga, but I am a huge fan of anime. I’ve got quite a colelction of Manga/anime DVDs. Some of the artwork is fantastic.
Your right, girls don’t seem to be that interested. I think thats because its generally speaking a boys thing. Gadgets are associated with boys mainly e.g. T3 magazine – it has smei-naked women plastered all over with gadgets covering their modesty, or Boys Toys magazine – the title. Its kind of like when you were a kid, boys like playing with cars while girls like playing with dolls.

How about weput all the stuff we have done behind us and startfresh, Gomisanhas made a valid point that this stuff ruins it for everyone. Now then whatdo yousay? Weare both to blame so lets end it now?
I agree with Gomisan aswell, I also agree with what you say. But until you drop me an e-mail apologising for the ‘Chris why you being cheap for?’ thread which started all this don’t expect me to be your friend. Once I get that, I’ll apologise for the retalliations. If that don’t happens, I think its best we just stay out of each others way, not even reply/comment on each others posts as it only adds ammo to the arsenal.
Its a shame you didn’t think about the above (see quoted) before makingthat post…

Hey, thats an awesome idea… I may still have some old gamepad around that I can junk for the switches… hell that could make quite a nice controller too!
I’ll have to give this soem thought andif i do anything i’ll pop details online. Won’t be overnight though 🙂
I MUST get this rover… I’m in love with them and since my gf has one:smiley2: it would be fun for her too:smiley4: I just MUST get Auto Modelista, and Rover… And I don’t care how much they cost! lol…
Just as a side note, instead of butchering a coat hanger (when you can use them as antennas), just use those tiny nuts and bolts that you can buy at any electronics shops or hardware stores. No super glue, just drill the holes and bolt ’em in! Looking at Jaycar (yes I know!!!!), you can get a pack of 10 (nylon)for about 3 bucks or for the same price, a pack of 25 for steel bolts, although I’m sure you can find cheaper prices elsewhere.Dunno about washers and nutstho. And I’m sure you would be able to find any number of household items to use as rubber caps, ie. thescrew-on covers off tire inflation valves. Tre’authentic, no?

That’s what I ment to say:smiley2:
I wanted to show people what the board was like on delivery. if I can be bothered i’ll resolder it. The solder job is pretty dodgy.
I’ll also try giving it a clean, but as mentioned.. it has probbaly stuffed the microswitches so not much point.
I’m waiting to hear from the retailer, they may want it back (I’m hoping for a replacement!)
Oh yeah! How cool is that?!
The “scanning” LEDs look killer :smiley2:Would look pretty impressive looming up behind you on the track!

err… if by “HUGE” you mean approx 20 geeks all stuck in a rented meeting room playing with their little tiny toy cars on the conference table and the winner takes home a t-shirt… gee, you ain’t seen nothing yet.
In Japan with the Mini4X4s, I hear they had approx 40,000 people attend 1 “national championship” some years back. Huge outdoor tracks were built, special effects and all. The crowd totally crippled the local town’s public transport for the entire week, so much so the town refused to hold the competition again.
LOL!!

29 (only days away from 30) in Adelaide, Australia
It’s possible that they could fit, but ZZ are uglier:smiley2: and the bodies don’t really look very pretty, and they are slightly larger, unless u wanna perform some “operations” to fit ur BCG they won’t fit:smiley4:
Guys, I’m new to this forum, but this stuff is just crap. Long experience has shown me that anything said in forums really is better of ignored, or dealt with externally.
Moderators should close any threads (including this one) that begin to degenerate, and perhaps even delete them.
It spoils the entire forum, I come looking for informtion, notice a new post in a topic only to find it’s 2 guys with different sites at each others throats.
Go sit in on this forum… http://pub73.ezboard.com/bcodogames(Laser Squad nemesis) for a good example of people getting along and using forums as they should.
Now…can we talk about the Mini Cooper or what?
yeah… i’ve seen the OEM’s but I’m lookin for the real TOMY Compact Char-g … thanks anyway…
