…Jamie…what happens to my Z if i hook one of these aftermarket TAMIYA motors up WITHOUT a fet mod etc ? Do they just go slow ? Blow up ? Explain for me the difference if you can between the speed motor and the torque motor…im a layman 🙂 humour me 🙂 Have you tried any of the other TAMIYA motors ? EAGLE also has a speed motor and a torque motor…any good ?

…I luv the TAMIYA motor that wont ‘drive’ the car until you nudge it with your finger and it then stops when it hits something…VERY Japanese…lol…

KONAMI basically took over the tank market but BANDAI DO also have an infrared tank series with their styles based on (what appears to be…) an essentially Korean (might be mistaken…) produced Saturday morning cartton called ‘Potris’…small market though as they are still quite expensive and if you didnt know the show you would go with KONAMI anyway…
There are also LOTS of funky little BANDAI units that run in circles and try to push the other guy over and KONAMI is getting on that band wagon too…It will all probably get a bit long winded so i will get picks and correct names and try to put something up at PanicToys 🙂

…Jamie VERY true…the mini yonku hail from way back…RE: scale the R/C mini yonku are scaled slightly bigger than their ‘turn on and let run till they fall down dead’ conterparts…Bodies include your usual suspects of gtr, subaru and evo 🙂

…The controller is merely for speed…The cars themselves run
around an oval or 8-track…best modified car wins either by lap counts or a nose in front…Tamiya uses this whole series as a warm up for the kids before they get into 1/10 and it gives the dads, (usually dads but mums too 🙂 to be with the kids while dad fiddles with his 1/10……Microamps…not a slot car as you might think with the pin and tabs on the bottom but think more of a BB in a straw…Courses are usually oval or figure 8 but Tamiya pulls out some crazy ones at the shows…You get the occasional one jumoing out of a corner but pretty much they just run where the track goes 🙂
…ph2t basically you are using a backyard version of Tamiya’s epoxy putty…i like your system though…the ADVANTAGE of putty though is that it is able to be modelled / cut / pressed while it is still soft…The DISADVANTAGE of it might be cost / drying out when not in use and availablity…
I like the blu-tak idea though…very well done…just make sure you dont stick your fingers together 🙂
No mystery about these ones fellas and I am SURE this is old news for most of you…The scale of the Tamya Mini 4WD series (we call them ‘mini yonku’ in Japan 🙂 and their more recent cousins the RC Mini 4WD are at an incredibly close scale to those of the Mini-Z…
Quick hint 🙂 Mini Yonku FOAM tires ROCK on a mini z…stick like dog poo to your shoe…spoilers, rollers etc and lots of other little bits fit too…But i DO recommend the foamies for your Z…

enzo I will announce prices and timing from us soon…The europa is still wrapped in the digi-cam so i will try to put those up over the weekend…couple of months away anyway…The Europa will be released FIRST as an RC set and then a PB later 🙂

Dood I just sold my two sets to canada…If i could figure HOW to get a pic onto THIS page we could see them…They are basically all the extra goodies out of a Tune Up box with the addition of a TOMY 3.0…

…That is correct…I recieved an email from TOMY’s (SUE ME ?) AMERICAN based lawyers saying basically…

legal nightmare for you as the seller.” END QUOTE.I complained though that i was not IMPORTING but I was EXPORTING…I was not based in America so it had no bearing on me…But it all fell on deaf ears…I guess if i had more balls and a REAL lawyer I could have figured out a way around it but i did NOT want any further hassles with TOMY so I walked away from ebay altogether…
As a result of TOMY cancelling my auction Ebay perked their ears up as did Paypal and my account was unfortunately temporarily frozen…What was worse was that it had ALL my funds for 150+ Super Bit Char-Gs tied up in it so i couldnt pay my dealers who were VERY upset and then threatened to pass on my orders to other clients of theirs…All this was happening late friday night in the middle of a rain storm 🙂 Oh what fun…
It all got sorted out and paypal and ebay is back to normal for me…
BTW the cancelled auction was for a NUR with a Calsonic freebie…This was later sold privately to England…
Company-wise TOMY isnt fantastic…better than KONAMI to deal with but they still need someone with international brains…and they have this funny habit of agreeing to contact you and they never do…
If sellers are coming back to ebay thats great but I wouldnt be surprised if TOMY locks down again…Have to wait and see 🙂

Japanese retail for the Mini Monster is 17800 JPY…At todays rate that is ABOUT 163 USD…I guess the Monster box will weigh about the same as a regular ready set so shipping will be between 25-30 USD as a ‘guesstimate’…Thems the facts Ma’am…PanicToys prices are yet to be confirmed…The rate sux right about now anyway so it might get better or worse for you…Will keep you posted…
The two bodies availabe are blue and white or blue and yellow…Apparently there are other bodies to follow…Full range of option parts coming too but times and prices arent available yet…
..All due respect there Shypo you might WANT to sell of them to pay off some bills !
Hey titanium…There was lots of stuff there but PanicToys.com is mostly focusing on Mini Z and Konami IR tanks 🙂
I was impressed with the new Monster Series for the Konami range and have been raving about the Sound System for a while…
Mini Z was ALL Monster Mini for us…Also the new Aoshima Z bodies and ready sets are all pretty sexy…
OMY SERIOUSLY dropped the ball promoting mostly trains and the rest of their Bus collection…You know we are up to 20 buses now but I WAS interested in the Pullback Bus series coimng out…quite a plain body type bus which will be GREAT for moddifying 🙂
Tamiya is a toy eating beast which took one third of the show…HUGE !! The KYOSHO booth rocked and looked really good in their red and black colours…Best ‘Show Girl’ was in the Konami booth 🙂
There was LOTS of other stuff about but that is about the best of it 🙂 Its way TOO easy to wander off, product-wise, and try your hand at different things but I have learnt that it is better to intensify in one direction, or SIMILAR direction, than to offer this and that…And to that end it was a great show for PanicToys.com…Pics ARE coming as soon as i clear some of the unused dross off geocities; a very tedious job indeed…But it WILL be done…
