That Chevy body looks fantastic. Pity they painted the windows in black on the display one.
BitHeads site seems to have disappeared anyway. I’ve never used him, so I can’t comment on that being a loss or not.
There’s a plave that sells modded parts for Bit Char-Gs (BCGs). http://www.RCmod.com I think.
Pretty expensive, but if you know you can’t do the mod yourself and think you might wreck your car, I suppose it’s money well spent.
Big W just advertised them for around $27 in Tassie (probably an Aus wide cattlegdog).
Take this advertised to Kmart and they’ll beat that price by 10% too.
I’ve orderred one of the subs from ToyEast. $13US, plus postage, so I threw in some Minis and new BCG motors too (4.2s). Should be here in about a week. Now I won’t need the picture of the shark on a stick to terrorise the goldfish at work.
Yeah. The speed the barcode would flash past occurred to me last night at home. Oh well, it was worth a try.
The transponder would be cheap, it’s the receiver that’d be the main cost. I wonder who makes the cheapest receover. After all It’s only need to pick up about 5 – 20 different transponders, and they could all be set to be quite different, so the receiver wouldn’t need to be super accurate.
HLJ are another good site. Check the AusMicro link page for its address.
Can I enter the AusMicro backgrounds?
What about bar codes on the roof of each car, and a bar code scanner above the start/finish line??
Or is that RFID? What is RFID anyway?
oldtamiyaphile, perhaps do any future bodies for the Bit. Especially seeing as they’re easier to get in Aus land. I won’t bombard you with suggested bodies to make, but let me know if you start producing more Ford shells – I’ve got a mate who’s Ford mad.
Aaron, some days you crack me up. Leaving finger prints. hahahaaaa.
Check out the competition discussion. Some guys have done great work modding their BCGs.
The dual speeds are really nice. I wish all my cars were dual speed cars. You can put in a bugger engine, go flat stick along the straights, but then slow down for corners. This offers a lot more control.
The beetle looks excellent. Nice detail with the surf board too.
The Dual speed cars aren’t full speed and extra speed, they’re half speed and full speed for that engine with the booster. Without the booster on the transmitter simply pulses the ‘go forward’ command to the car.
For example, a 2.2 engine will run at around 1.1 speeds without the boost, and like a 2.2 with the boost on. Will full boost on all the time, you get the same run time as the same motor in a non-booster car.
It’s not so much a turbo, as a button to remove the choke.
Nice work Crazy. I like the car in the 1st one, and the sunset in the last one. you could make them look like they’re parked on the road neat a beach very easily.
Radio Shack aren’t in Aus, as far as I’m aware. We have Tandy, which I thought were the same company, but was told recently it’s not.
Yup. I made them. They’re not as slick looking as I’d like, but I always told I am over critical of the work I do. I’d like to see the backgrounds you’ve done for your bits CrazyDave. Must be a Dave thing. =o)
You’re most welcome. =o)
Backgrounds page seems to be working now. Good job Aaron.
Hey, that was my 1000th post. And what a giving sharing post it was too. =o)
I was abot to add that. =o) Except it doesn’t seem to work yet. Perhaps if I give it 5 minutes it will.
In the mean time one of the last images in my members galley is of the petrol pumps.
http://members.ausmicro.com/memberview.asp?user=DaveFI’ve sent them to Aaron. When the poor bugger gets a chance he’ll put them up on the site for all to see/use.
teringn?? What the…?
Can I have all that again, but in english please? =o)I’ve just orderred 2 x 4.2 motors. I’m wonderring if the cars will even be stearable, or if it’ll just be as stupid as keeping your foot flat to the floor in a skid pan.
Tell her to take one for the team. =o)
