looks like Sora Aoi, Pete… funny that. Tim; yes, me, Pete and Josh. More top speed, meaning more damage. One very damaged DTM Merc shell. Oh wellblackeye:
You running the a.w.d set? That looks like part of the stock set up before the all wheel drive goes in. Will check for you onight, and let you know first thing tomorrow.
wore through the brushes, and snapped a wire… copping a rebuild and clean up as we speak, will be back in the car by this Sunday.:D
I gotta get more free time!!! Between work, sleep, mini z and beer, there’s nothing left!Going to take next week off (take that, work!!), so I can source this material and get it together. Cosmo; how big’s this track you’ve got together? Sounds like my idea of dropping into Clarks rubber with a trailer might still be the go. Would’nt mind having a gander at your track, as while we both have different methods of fabrication, the end result no doubt would be very similar. Talldude; it’ll be done by the time you next drop down!! Petewah; spell ckecker:smiley2:
bad news, talldude… the Plasma is back this week. Add to that the fact that all is running at 100% again, and you’re ALL in for some tail-kickin, tire-shredding beatings. Geo; I found the more toys i’ve got, the more of em will screw up when the time comes to show what they can do. Petewah; stay away from mushrooms. Especially bright blue ones…:dead: :smiley2:
i know i’d rather wait till i’m at a pc next to post, rather than pay through the nose to do it over my phone. my 2 cents
ditto the Sydney group… this Sunday… same question as ph2t i guess…
i’m there… as will be Josh…thought you said you were studying? Before you go adding extra cells (and hence speed), try sorting out your traction issues. Jamie could help you with the 6 cell conversion though, if asked nicely:smiley2: bb cans lessen the load inside, due to the armature (sp.) spinning between bearings, not bushes (anyone wanting to pull me up here for being wrong, please feel free…) as for the brushes, not sure, but carbon should wear better, prolonging the life of them. (duh!!) You planning on a rebould for the Plamsa, eh Timmy?:approve:
the fets I believe are the IRF7389, cant remeber the price though… Aaron could help you there… welcome to the forums too…
try a tiny little spacer or washer Kevsta… not the greatest method but one thats workd for me on occasion
mac sucks.:smiley2:hehehe
had to say it just to wind you up… My guess is anyone who does’nt want to donate dollars to Bill Gates’ retirement fund uses a mac.and take the fun outta drifting my GTR? Nah. It would’nt drift like that beastie anyway… Would like to mod a Xmod shell to fit a Z though, everyone seems to be doing the reverse of this in the States (Z shells modded to fit Xmods), thinking the Acura would look awesome on a Z. May do it after this track is finished.

Yo! what’s the dilly with the 5.8mm ball joints? Are they the larger ones?
[/quote] yeah mate, there the 2 bigger ones in the two suspension arms under the beast… there’s also 4.8 milled joints, not sure whether you need em or not. They come in packs of six, which I found odd, as there’s 12 4.8mm joints throughout the car, not six. hmmmm…ebay matey… I did exactly the same part. Buy a couple, i’ll grab one off you…:smiley2: lol
Still no word on the aluminium damper stays, come on GPM!!! oh, and TallduDe; you dont want what peteWah’s on…:clown:i’ve got two Acura sets my man… interested? PM if you want to know more… Its a stock kit, chassis is brand new and unrun, but the shell has minor scuffs and is missing both wing mirrors… have two Xmods so will part with one if you want
got the vids to work, had to download a different media player as the Windows one would’nt work… all sorted now. Damn that black car in the second vidoe is fast, eh?:approve: btw, Talldude; there’s a Hummer shell available for Overlands these days, not sure if Monster and Overland use the same size mounting clips inside the shell though. Would’nt take much to mod one up to fit… :smiley2:
i’m in mate… you got one phat Monster as well… other mods? I suggest; s/s kingpins and suspension pins, and the 5.8mm milled ball joints. Everthing else you’d want is already on the car… Should I be bringing my Monster again this week then/:smiley2: We’ll see how long it takes before you to dare risk running that chrome shell outdoors, too…:D
bugger… only came through as audio for me, all three of em. odd. Josh is’nt a member as yet Geo, but i’ll pass on that information tonight…:smiley2:
btw, Talldude; Xmods are fully proportional, but they have less (a lot less) steps of acceleration and steering than a Z.
yeah Pete, make me sound like the bad guy, roaring profanities at little kids… thanks buddy. It was more of a “hey! Wotchoo doin? geddaway from dat”, and with everyone else glaring at him, he got the idea.
hope I dont see that kid down there again. I’d forgotten about that…:evil:
and the who’s who; PeteWah on the far right, then (from right to left) Geo-Z, my mate Josh (not yet a member, but i’m working on it!!), Tim, (Josh and Tim lookin headless there), Talldude left back, and myself front left (oblivious to the camera at that point.) That, by the way, was abit over half of all the stuff we had there.
i’ll drink to that… atually da GTR was up on blocks this wekend, if you will…This weekend will make a difference however. Think Geo-z’s Z was fastest, running an external twin turbo w/ a Xspeed in the yellow dakdak. Very fast. The cars were all pretty evenly matched though… Check the pics and the coming video for more info…
i’ll backhand him, Aaron… :D:p keen to see this vid too, what time (roughly) do you think they’ll come up? Wish i’d had a look at it before Kevsta left…blackeye:
I never tested my Xmod before putting in the awd, due to the parts showing up before the kit. Installed bearings and awd at the same time (about two hours or so… much easier to do a Z’s bearings), but the turning circle now they’re both in is roughly 35cm (slightly smaller when turning left, at about 20-25cm.)
