was running on asphalt at a supermarket carpark. nice and quiet bar the odd truck at the loading zone. im using atomic rubbers on the front atm(cant remember which number), but ive got some softer ones coming in a week or so, so will see how that goes.

messed around with making a custom front steering rod today, its now toe adjustable, though i think ill make a longer center piece, as i cant really get much toe out on current one now.

i weighed it against a mates stock iwaver with all alloy and plastic motor mount, and they were within 5g of each other. thats with aaas in his. so it should actually be lighter than a full alloy iw02m or very close.

drives pretty good, gets up and goes, but any jab at the throttle sneds it spinning. steering is very touchy. im going to make up a new tie rod sometime with a bit more toe in, see if that helps. unless someones got any ideas. it doesnt twitch at all, which is brilliant, and im getting huge runtimes with this battery

got curious before and ripped a kingpin out of an old iwaver 02 and compared it to the 02m kingpin, the point where the top clip slides in on the 02m is like .2mm taller than the 02, and overall length is maybe .5mm taller. but it fits in fine and the 02m clip works, so those that want stainless kingpins, just grab a set of iw02 ones, not sure if mini z mr02 are the same, but id assume so.

nah, no chance of getting to a rcp track unless theres one i dont know about in latrobe valley area.

dont think u could fill the rear shocks with oil, theyre a 2 piece design, a shaft slots into the top piece.

looking at the way the rear suspension works, theres little to no movement for the whole diff to move up at once, but the motor mount holders that keep it on the chassis, the front one is elongated. but the chassis flexes more than the mount. but, the sideways action works well, if the car leans one way, the mount will move with it.

its like it needs an elongated holder at the back and shocks over the back of it.

this cuold probably be done with an extended top plate and one or 2 shocks mounted at the back.

ill try and get it outside on the road sometime this week and really open it up, inside is just too small

well, save starting a new thread, i thought id ressurect this old one.

ok, the xmod chassis sucks, crappy plastic, bad suspension design on rear, so im gonna try and make a custom chassis, double wishbone setup as i saw on another forum. cant afford a xmod evo or ma010.

but i was looking at pics of the ma010, and i like the diff, looks much stronger and easier to change gears for the centre shaft.

so, what outside diameter is the big bearing that keeps the diff in place?

hmm, might even try and use the whole ma010 setup minus chassis, alloy knuckles, alloy dogbones, alloy axles, diff, just gotta make up diff and suspension arm holders.

    sound feasable?

    cheers
