yeh, i was thinking i might have to just get a nelly.
hmm, nearly fell off my chair, nelly deluxe is a pricey little bugger.
ok, quick look, i can get max627’s for about $6 each plus postage, is there a basic circuit i can follow somewhere? might give it a shot, how may am i gonna need?
with the whole 5 cells max thing on kyosho and iwaver boards, can i run a 5v regulator to the receiver pcb and the 7.4v from my li-ions to the spider? or is that not gonna work?
sounds good, might be time to scrounge out the old cars and have a play, i never did get the v1 working, i think i stuffed it up the last one.
unless you want to send it to one of the guys on here to fix, if you know where the wire has to be soldered to, take it into a tv repair shop and ask them to solder a piece of wire to it. they should charge you bugger all if not nothing to do it, 2minute job MAX.
ok, cool. thanks betty.k, holes are easy enough to drill. so, anyone got one they wanna sell me for around au$10, otherwise, im just gonna get one of the standard alloy ones from dinball.
ok guys, i have got it mostly set up, still have to try a few things for the steering, i should get my ‘spider’ monday, thanks again aaron.
i have ordered 2x tamiya plasmadash motors and an atomic ball bearing can and bearings for it, they will be here in a couple weeks.
now, where can i find a alloy motor mount that has the heatsink fins on it wiht the predrilled motor can holes? rcmart only has the standard alloy ones. cant wait to start getting some alloy bits for this.
cool, thanks for that betty.k. i have seen both those threads before, but i will go and read through them again, to refresh my memory.
cool, thanks for the help merc-blue. steering pot sounds easy enough, will do that tomorrow.
i have been thinking about it all day and have decided to go the spider. i do have the skills to build a pcb, but unfortunately not the equipment, unless i hack something up from perfboard. spider is quicker and neater.
and for the li-ion, i might have a quick search thru the other forums out there, see what i can find, but i dare say, that the board will be fine with 7.4v.
oh, and i have already done my first mod to the xmod: a carbon fibre driveshaft. i had about a half a meter length lying around from an old school project that was the exact diameter, i cut it to length, filed the ends to fit the gears and it was done. if anyone wants one done, or a set of 3 for the different chassis legths, let me know, i still have more kicking around somewhere.
nice one there aaron, can you still access your heater controls? is that a touch screen? if so, youshould think about putting in a computer and use that for music, dvd’s, etc. thats what i’ve been working on in my car. checkout http://www.mp3car.com if ur interested.
yeh, found that site a while back, as you say, too brittle, i havent bought one yet, i should, would make even just a good model to have, i hope he does make a stronger one from some kind of plastic, as i reckon they would sell, especially from guys in this forum. id love to have my z cruizin round as an old torrie or munro.
damn, now u just gotta get a wireless video cam setup. thats a great shot too.
lol, my dog used to chase my old tamiya hotshot like that, cept hed actually catch it and drag it round by the tyres. i think he had a thing for tyres, as hed attack the wheels on the lawn mower too.
almost, just a few holes where the bog decided to sink in just a little bit more. but thats the joy of primer, it shows up any dimples and holes, so i can fix em. doing the door and window sills has been the hardest though.
looks awesome with that decal on the bonnet. the front bar really suits it now. great work
looks great. shame bout the crease in the rear spoiler though
nope, they were already there, being an iwaver shell, they were different to the kyosho subaru, but they had a raised lip around them, as you can sorta see here.
that didnt match with my stealth theme im going for, but still wanted vents, so i smoothed the lip down and bogged in the edge around them.
update time guys, well, not much of an update. i have been pretty slack lately. few pics for ya. should be able to primer it soon.
oh, and z-beam, little update on the paint, i can do metallics, and pearls. havent done any myself yet though. and, i’ve decided on a colour, holden green, from the vx-yz’s, u know, the metallic limey green style.
yeh, bit odd that one, cant wait to see more of it.
very good tutorial. when i have some spare cash, im gonna try it.
yeh, we just do basic colours and metallics at work, could probably ask a guy that comes in and mixes his own paint about adding the fleck or metallic bits. pearl i think is possible, im not sure, havent mixed many paints myself yet.
we mix the paint by hand, then put it into a pressurized spray pack. i can pretty much mix any colour i want, that has been on any car.
im after a straight colour overall, but not something standard. i want it to stand out, but not be excessive. and im going for the kinda stealth look. maybe a very deep green, almost black, but still green enough to see it.
as for the sprinter, very nice.
good stuff, sprinter looks great, but im loving the low stance of the supra.
ok guys, im almost done bogging and sanding the subaru. any suggestions on colours. i was looking through colour charts at work the other day, and well.. theres just too may to choose from. im thinking maybe an orange, or maybe a dark grey. opinions and suggestions very welcome.
its actually called bluejacking, just dont do it to the wrong person
meh, wouldnt be that hard to whack in a 130 size motor.
lol, ok. it should be ok to transfer through comm bank. just let me know when its done, and i’ll send it. and, yeh, its a big 300ml can we do.
