Quote:anyone know how much these things will cost?
also where can i get one?
I take it you’re talking about the 1/18 spyder?
Trinity is only new to making off-road cars, so who knows if these cars are any good.
The chances are that they will be discontinued in a year and parts will be few and far between.
The AE RC18T will definately be a good vehicle, they are one of the….if not, THE highest quality manufacturers in the world, they make good stuff :p
The things you migh want to look at are:
-What do you get in the kit? Just because one kit is dearer than another brand, doesnt mean it is less value, i.e. i am certain that the Spyder has friction shocks, which puts the RC18T in the lead.
-Parts availability, no bloody use having a car if parts aren’t easy or cheap to get.
-Durability/Design….well the less sh1t that breaks, the better, right?
Hopups…everybody loves/wants/needs hopups. Both these cars can use the same motors, such as brushless mamba etc. Due to the popularity, and AE following, I think the RC18T will have much more aftermarket support.
Wills, I also had a good look at a REVO in an LHS ($1200 :dead:) and it does look a bit fragile, the chassis is quite chunky and rigid, but the A-arms look quite under-done. Also those shock-cantilever-pivot-thingies seem to be breaking a lot….but alloy substitutes are here now.
Bithed that info is completely useless for mini Z people…
remember that mini4wd’s run 2 cells, mini Z’s run 4 cells, the current draws are gonna be much higher than listed.
About the ferry, if you go on it BRING SOME MINI Z’s!!!!!!!!!
Theres a big carpet area made from that felt-like carpet which is usually almost completely vacant. Take at least 10 sets of batteries, cause the trip is boring as fuck…
the ferry is the least of my worries, melbourne hotels make me cringe…
with what? you’re all onroad boys!
zoomer to the rescue :smiley16:
Where the heck are they going?
Bash day sounds awesome fun…

Hmmm maybe….depends on how work goes…
I’d love to be in but merh…
bright orange?
I’m taking a year off and working my 2 part time jobs….
I dont like the sound of the future 😀
talldude if u have a big flat area (meadowbank, set up a speed trap….simple…
I’ll bet a revo would kill that spyder around a track….
Prepare to change your underpants:
My LHS last time i checked
MZ MR01 $390
MZ F1 $590
:shock::shock::shock::shock::shock:

Well I was doing much too heavy work, and I think the difference between mine and the dremel is the name.
For christ’s sake it has a 2 year warranty and a 10 year parts backup…i think they must be ood if they can offer that…
Huh? Mine has variable speed standard…
It also came with a desk stand, 40 pc accessory kit, flex shaft and storage box.
How about “Hey BitHed, when are you gonna send my stuff down?”
what is your 101km/h car running?
I’m interested in some tank battlefield bits and pieces…
Quote:OMG, Bettys got a mini grinder, lookout world here come the chopped mods from hell.:smiley2:
Seriously though, I have one similar to that (Ozito) and for the price you cant beat them.
Its not tradesmen quality like a Dremmel, but for our purposes they are the ducks guts. :approve:If you mean the OZITO 40 pce kit with flex shaft from bunnings, i have the same, and honestly i can’t tell the difference between that and my dads dremel in operation. Sadly i got a bit heavy with it and smoked the motor..:dead:
I finished today too, i was hungover as fuck…bit to enthusiastic in celebration the night before…
Trent, seriously, those cheaper grinders are just as good as dremels….
Okay…
On a standard nylon armature, below 35t is not to good.
The stock armatures are small and held together with nylon. What’s this mean?
-The small size of the commutator limits current flow, increased resistance means increased heat from the commutator.
-When the commutator gets too hot the nylon parts will soften and give way, usually writing off the motor.
-If you remove metal from the motor can, you will weaken the magnetic field.
-If you go with a Tamiya Plasma Dash, Or the similar Atomic motor, you will have virtually no limitations, as the commutator is much bigger and helt together with high temperature ceramic epoxy.
Having said that, your mod skills seem to be quite adequate, just remember that this isn’t built to take power like the motors listed above.
Just to be a smartass, wheelbase is the distance between the axles front to back.
Track is the distance from whel centre to wheel centre left to right.
