I solved the problem. The motor that came with my 04 was faulty, and just coincidence that the other motor blew.
I chucked in another old iWaver motor I had and it’s all good now.

At $0.99, I might have to get a few of those iWaver motors for spares.

    Hmmm… my 04 has a problem.
When I ‘free run’ the stock motor (on full throttle) it revs up and down by itself. I thought it might have just been a bad motor – so I tried an old iWaver 02 motor and it smoked and blew up within a few seconds (the motor – not the fets).

Haven’t had a chance to test (sacrifice) another cheap motor.. but I’ve got a bad feeling it’s an electronics prob.

Anyone had a problem like this before?
    Sound like a fet thing?

Will any of the other bits fit a Z? Tyres, wheels etc…

I’m going to be there around 12ish – I’ll be over that way and thought I’d check out the 1:10s.

I can probably come back later in the day though.

I wanna buy some alloy stuff.. which means I gotta break some plastic stuff 😀

The finish is actually a lot better than it looks in these pics. I honestly hadn’t noticed any crappy edges until I really started looking.

There’s a few dull bits of plastic here and there – but overall I’m pretty impressed with it. And that led rocks 🙂

I took the stickers off and carefully placed them in the bin. 😀

One thing that impressed me was the packaging. ToyEast get so close to making a great product – then stuff it up with things like the crappy stickers and backwards tyres.

Hey I got my 04 today too. It’s pretty cool… but the plastic looks very breakable. And it’s real real slow – mine sounds/drives like the diff is slipping. Those wonky stickers are about the worst thing I’ve ever seen from ToyEast.

But the TX makes up for it.

    I haven’t broken anything yet… but the days isn’t over 👿

    Somebody get one!
Anyone know if these transmitters will come with the yet to be released iWavers?

I just noticed the iWaver 01 ‘Pro’ has a “very high grade circus board”.. sounds pretty cool to me.

I’ve kept all the dead LXX bits together in the hope that one day I can save it. I sorta tried to trace where the busted pads went to.. but it was easier to just put the whole thing away and forget about it.
Maybe if I can ever be bothered to get some new fets for it I’ll fix it.

    Yeah BLACK RIMS!
It needs some “speed holes” next.

Nup.. SP2 just won’t do it.

Can someone copy and paste the code needed to attach an image so I can just chuck it in the message field?

Well at least it’s not just me then.

I thought it must be SP2, cause Opera used to work fine here pre SP2.
I’ll try Firefox again and see if it works.

Well.. after all that I ended up getting the Apex v12. It’s only 7A, but since I’ll only be charging 2A lipos it should be ok.

I totalled my lipo pack today – so it won’t be getting any use at all until I dare to charge the damaged pack again.

I’ve had a few faulty/missing items from Toy East, and they’ve always sent me a replacement – but they do take a while. Like weeks to months.

Might be worth emailing a few different people at ToyEast.

Jaycar has a 5A for $110.. will this do?
    There’s a 10A for $170, but that’s getting a bit expensive.

I’ve had items arrive scratched, incomplete, in trashed packaging etc… when I’ve bothered to complain about it they’ve been replaced without any probs (including an extra bit shell and motor). It just takes some persistent emailing.

I can sorta forgive TE for messing up small orders, they’ve got wholesale buyers to keep happy… I’m sure my $20 orders aren’t at the top of the priority list.

Yeah I tried it without the suspensions limiters – it’s a bit better.

I might rig my usb camera to point at the front wheel.. just to see what’s really happening.
I won’t believe that the front suspension is actually moving until I can see it in action :p

I’m asking if front suspension does anything.
Mine just seems way too firm to be able to move under the tiny weight of the car.
