Just thought I’d update my comments on the ZZ SEs and FET modding them.
I HAVE HAD EXCELLENT SUCCESS FET MODDING THESE BABIES NOW.
They fly and have as much power as a fet modded bcg or Gen1 ZZ.
Check my website for more details, but they are stacks of fun once they start screaming around the place at 15kmh (10mph)
Couldnt be happier with these now, I cant put them down.
:)uABarto, what happens when you take the 40:B out of range, does it stop, stutter, or does it keep going?
:)uAWhat does the controller for these look like?
Just the 2 ZZ SEs so far VDM, but it looks like there is a few on the way to me atm.
:)uAThanks guys:blush:
Its kinda interesting seeing (reading) what goes on behind the scenes to keep this site ticking over. Now that I can read all the past moderators stuff.
I’d like to applaude the current moderators, (espacially Aaron of course) for the organisation that has gone on so far, to get, and keep this site going.
Well done to all concerned.
I hope I can contribute toward keeping this place as informative and as much fun as it already is.
The input comes from the members of course, and what a great bunch we have here.
Keep it coming.
*Micro steps down off his soap box*
:)uAYeah it looks good. I like the ZZs too, these ones take a tri cell or LiPo mod without too much stuffing around, and fet modded, they absoultey scream. I hope they do sell them here, eventually.
:)uAThese look pretty good, I’d like to know if they are the propo ones or binary control.
:)uA
Edit,
I just found this, looks like they are very similar to the standard ZipZap.

Oh well, traffic jam at Bitheds website, over use error.
Maybe later then.
:)uAYou just beat me to it ph2t, Ive had a flick through the RS-Comps catalog, (all 3 inches of it), only to find that they dont have anything with an extra contact switch.
Panda, All Electronic Components had some excellent old stock, the shop was a time capsule of gear. They closed down about 2 years ago and a lovely persian rug shop opened up there.
95% off this week only, as usual, of course.
:)uACool, thanks Panda and Trash. I’ve seen an indoor plane flying around with one of these whilst a small audience watched a TV of the images coming from the plane.
I’ve just gone and got another mortgage, um, I mean bought a mini rc helicopter, so I think one of these micro cams might be just the ticket as well. Power supply on the chopper is 8.4v 800mAH so it suits straight away.
Hmmmm, ideas a flowin’
:DuAI had another look and I’m beginning to agree with Jamie, the rear end has a cut-out to accommodate the drive gear, but the rear wheels look to be inline with the fronts.
Im not sure why I thought they were offset, I might have a clone like this in my collection.
:)uAAds, I’m using the 145mAH LiPos that Tiny RC are selling, at about US$6.95 (i think) the price is not bad. Also their postage is flat rate per package.
I have also bought from Plantraco for some larger cells (550mAH) but they are more expensive. The TinyRC LiPos are from plantraco anyway, but they sell cheaper than Plantraco does.
:)uANo it doesnt R9, it runs on after you let the throttle go, but its fairly highly geared, and light, so it slows down for cornering, or stops, fairly quickly.

:)uANot that cheap, I think it cost about AU$15 at each end to transfer the money. That was the first and last time for me. Straight onto paypal.

:)uAGood stuff guys, could be marketing oportunity in that for you. I’m sure plenty of people would like a BCG charger that delta peaks.

:smiley2:uAMost hobby shops sell delta peak chargers, just be sure to mention the small size of the cell you want to charge, some chargers only charge larger cells.
Also try Jaycar and Dick Smith Electronics, (if you are in Australia) they also sell similar chargers.
:)uANah, sorry ph2t, I dont have vid cam. I will have to leave this up to the recipients of the first fet modded ZZ SEs when they return to their owners.
