What I am going to do is offer my services to do this mod for people, same as when I was doing FET mods to BCGs and standard ZZs and clones. (and yes I am still doing these mods as well if you want one done, email me or check my website)
I am still charging US$20 for a FET mod, you send the car to me, I mod it, test it, and send it straight back. It really does kick arse once it is modded. Just like a fet modded BCG, only a little heavier. Get into it.
:)uA
TitaniuMonkey, these cars sell for US$25 in the States (plus postage) and the mods I have been doing have always been US$20. 🙂Edited by – micro_Amps on 20 October 2003 10:32:39
Thanks geebee, i did a search on the net and it sounds like good stuff. I might have to try this stuff out.

:)uASMP, the way to increase the current going to the motor is to increase the voltage, that is what doing a dual cell mod is all about, the increase of the voltage to the motor.
But, (theres is always a downside), the extra weight of the second cell stops the car handling as good as it did as a single cell car.Another option is a Lithium polymer cell, these are light as a single cell, and are 3.7volts (roughly 150mAH) so its like having a triple cell car in the weight of a single cell. BUT (and this is a big downside), you need an expensive charger to recharge it as the LiPo cells are VERY sensitive, and if you charge them wrong they go into a coma and never return. And at around AU$12 each for a cell it can get expensive to kill these.
Another option, (the best option so far) is to FET mod the cars electronics. This allows more current to flow to the motor without the need for the second cell, and it can still be charged on the original controller.
Just while we are on batteries, did you know that the controller only puts about ONE TENTH of full charge in to the cell in a BCG. So much better run times can be achieved by charging multiple times. Each charge delivers a little less than the charge before it, but theses cars can be charged up to 8 times, easily. Or the ultimate is using a delta peak charger to completly fill the cell to 100% full.
A full (original) 50mAH cell will run for about 20 minutes, so there is really no point changing the cell to a larger one if you arent filling the one you have in the car anyway. So there you go.

I do have another one though, and it is getting a stage2 fet mod very soon. :smiley2:
This one is staying with me.
:)uAOk, thanks, I’ll look out for it.

:)uAI agree with you 100% crazydave, if it wasnt for the ‘run on’ mine might get a bit more use.
I like the shells though.
:)uABack in those days it was.
Very interesting.
:)uAI was flying an Edel wing, broke my ankle landing and forgot to put the brakes on, hit the ground at about 60km/h with a big tumble and an ankle the size of a softball.
Havent flown in a long while, pretty much hung up the wing once the ankle healed. Still, it was heaps of fun.
Thats quite a list of breaks, crazyman.
:smiley2:uAIt doesnt have reverse R9, just 2 forward speeds.
Reverse would crash every time.
:)uACan you give us sonme more info on the “ezy glide” lube

:)uAHow much fun is paragliding !!!:D:D:D
Loved it, broke my ankle, which wasnt so much fun, but the flying was excellent.
:)uAWith bit racer gears and mini beaters for wheels, you could just do laps of the bowl and mix it all up.
Geez we talk some crap on these forums sometimes.
How did we ever get onto this?

:smiley2:uAbloody amazing,
Hmmmm, go me thinking…:evil::evil:
:)uAIt is said to be the one with the least steering problems, but I dont know how much diff a shell is going to make. It sound like they just need a bit of tweaking anyway.
:)uAI havent noticed it go out of range yet. I am probably running it at a 5 meter radius from me, so more than that at least.
:)uAI reckon there could be quite a few candidates for good history sets.
Hmmm……..Let me think:)uA
Yeah I agree, but it will be interesting to see just what functions these new buttons control once the cars come out.
:)uAGood, thats a start.
:)uAI reckon we could get Jamie Oliver or Ian Hughitson involved.:D
Then we d really cook up a BCG meal.
Lubbly Jubbly

:)uAYes Tally, I’m hoping to get the 2 ducted fans onto the “foamy” it runs very well with the 2 speed 130 motors, but I want more.
I have the foamy (currently stuck up a tree, hoping to get it down later this morning…..yes seriously). I have one of those yellow bees from Dick Smith, and 2 micro (BCG) controlled indoor planes.
Good luck on the first flight. Make sure it is dead calm and just fly little flights at first until you get the hang of it.
