Yes Efarel, you are very close.
It is a cycle computer, it runs through a reduction gearbox to the senser. Thats really all it is at this stage.
The computer can show speed, distance, elapsed time, total distance, and maximum speed. All the usual things.
Did you know these little cars can run for over a kilometer in a straight line before they go flat !!
All will be revealed “under the hood” as the project is nearer completion. For your info Efarel, a cycle computer like this sells for about AU$35 (thats about US$21).

Yeh, of course YOU would !! :smiley2:
That will come in time ph2t. I’ll leave those until it is a fully working dyno.
For now, this is all you get. :D:evil:

One of the little ‘tactile’ switches night be shot. You can buy those in electronics stores and replace it.

This kind of thing gets posted every now and then.
Check to see you havent broken one of the tiny (hair like) wires that go from the circuit board to the steering coils. Lift the circuit board very gently and check in there. This will probably be the problem, you just have to find where the break is and re-attach it.
Goodluck

:)uAController pics now posted.
Re the price….
Lets put it this way, I paid less than the guy who got the one at auction in the link you posted.
Very cheaply considering how unusual it is
:)uASounds good, I’ll be there.
Hope to put some faces to names and vica versa.
Come along, should be fun.
:)uAJust to clarify WCWL, you will NOT find BitChargs in the stores here. Only very few places import their own BCGs, then charg a heap for them, like hobby place does.
Kmart and ToysRus sell the Aussie version which is called Compact Charg. They ARE Tomy BitChargs in a different packaging. We in Australia have been limited to 2 frequencies and only 4 models of cars, but these are the original Tomy product and compatible with Bit Chargs in every way.
For a full range of them see an online seller or ebay, but if you want to check them out in your hands, grab a Compact Char-g and start your collection that way.
I know ToysRus at Chadstone has sold them in the past, but it is probably best to ring anywhere you are looking at buying them from first anyway to see if they are in stock.:)uA
OK pics have been posted on this forum, look under “general chat” – keyence mad tune with pics.
:)uA
No probs Talldude, any time.
:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D
Always happy to help.
:)uAAHHHhh yes, you can say that again.
Well done William WCWL for having the thought to contact all of these ‘know-it-alls’ (:smiley2:) before you purchase your bit charg.
Hobby place is stinging people $80 for BitChargs AND Compact chargs. Kmart has Compacts on special at the moment for under $50. Online you will get the best selection anyway.
Well done and welcome…
:)uAI read in another forum that the secret to the speed increase is …….throwing it……into the bin , and the speed it reaches on the way there.
I thought it might have been something like this.
uAP.S. I for got to mention,
welcome to our friendly forum froggy, prepare to become addicted !!P.S. I for got to mention,
welcome to our friendly forum froggy, prepare to become addicted !!As far as buying online or at a store, that is just personal choice. If you are ok with buying over the net then trading direct are certainly a good place to purchase your bit from, although there are a few others too. If you want to hold it in your hands straight away then maybe a store might suit you better…..its up to you.
The original Bit Char-g is made by Tomy (Japan).
LXX char-g are a clone of these, but they are apparently the better ones amongst the clones.
There are many different clones and all are of a lesser quality, but then you dont pay the same prices as the Tomy bitchargs. Just keep in mind when looking to buy your bits….if is doesnt say “Tomy Bit Char-g” then it will probably be a clone of some sort.

:)uAIf it works on the charger then all the cars R/C circiuts are ok. The problem you have is that the battery is no longer connected.
Try looking under the car circuit board, you may find that you hit something really hard and the battery has become dislodged, or there may be a broken wire near the battery contacts or at the spot where it connects to the circuit board.
Let us know what you find and post the result.
If you need any further help, just let us know.
:)uAOK so the TX2C vcc makes no diference, now we know for sure, thanks for doing that.
I think the guys at Bitchargoz have the aerials, see the for sale section for their address
Re the rf amp cct, can you sub the values in from the BCG Tx. The cct is close to the one that exists in the controller in the first place.
uAHere is the link.

I think this guy is suss.
He has placed 8 recommendations in the ebay ad, but if you look through the tranactions used for the rating there is no sales of this “item”:question::question: Most of the rating points have been gained as a buyer, not a seller.
Also,
Here is some of the text from an email I received from the same person. As you can see it originates from TinyRC, but the sender wont accept reply email on this. See what you think.

top speed. People are wondering why the car companies don’t do this already – You will know how and be able to make your car outperform any other.
…………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………..Remember kids, if it sounds too good to be true……it probably is.

They must have altered the Rx pcb then. To run more than one car on 27Mhz would require precise rx circuitry (a crystal) which the current model of BCG does not have.
Id like to know who it is tho. He has been direct emailing people who have had recent BCG transactions too. Will anybody send him $2.95 to find out what he is going on about. Sounds like B.S. to me.
uACat 5 is a wire type. It is an 8 core cable of copper wires that is used for computer networking. Its usually blue or grey on the outside and has 8 wires inside the sheilding.
It is used because it is thin and rigid and you can cut it to any length. A longer aerial will help you to get better range from your BCG.
You can get good results using the thinnest piano wire that hobby shops sell too. This works well and looks a bit better.
Hope this helps
:)uAYeh I have heaps because I recently stripped it down and cleaned the fluff out of the internals and replaced the cell, but I am having minor problems hosting the pics. As soon as I get that sorted, I will post them.
:)uA
It isnt that simple.
Adjusting the coil merely tunes the aerial.
You will find that you need to change a smt capacitor and possibly a resistor too.
I am surprised that a 35Mhz and a 35.6Mhz bit both work simultaneously. The Bensu must use a different signal coding chipset. I thought they were all Rx2c/Tx2c though!
Interesting that you say the Tomy BitCharg frequencies are 27, 35.6, 40, 45.6, 49, and 57Mhz.
The four I know for sure (Tomy BCG frequencies) are….
27.000 45.000 35.002 57.000Mhz
Where do the NN.6Mhz frequencies come from?
Just to let you know, we have experienced interference problems with transmitters that are less than 6 to 8 Mhz apart. The 35/40/45/49 combinations sometimes dont work real well. Have you found a way to counteract this? -
