Dont be so touchy Surfy, he just means that we get ALL kinds of posts from ALL kind of people and we accept all of it.
Some people post pearls of wisdom, some discuss things, some just chatter, and some just try to get their post numbers up (:smiley2:) it takes all kinds, and in the end it all makes for a diverse and more interesting forum site.Have a look at this for a sensational case.
The auction is closed now but im sure you could email the seller to see if he can get any more, they are not even that expensive.
They look really good, but they might need some thin foam on the sides, like in a camera case, to stop the sides of the cars getting scratched.
Still, this is the best looking case arrangement that I have seen.Check it out.

Well done ph2t for finding those. Not exactly accessible by your average joe but a good brainstorm nontheless.
I have another topic for you to have a brainstorm on….rear suspension.
Got any ideas?:)uA
Hmmm, interesting, and probably unobtainable.
Might have to make a few enquiries about these…Ph2t, go a bit higher with the frequency.
Sure “right only” and “left only” require 13Hz, but how often do you sit there and steer only?
The main ones you need to worry about are…
Fwd only
Rvrs only
Fwd & L , Fwd & R
Rvs & L , Rvs & R
These are the ones used while actually driving.
I have more ideas on this to make it feasible.
You need to keep the frequency as high as possible, but of course you know that.
Hopefully i will speak to you soon.
:)uAYeh they are quite a bit of precision work to get one flying and are very delicate, mostly for indoors or a very still day.
You only have to look at the figures on the front page….
Nearly 800 members have posted nearly 8000 posts, that is not FADING by any definition.
:)uAI know, sorry. I forgot to add one of these

I recently saw a small polystyrene electric freeflight plane in a hobby shop that would suit a perfect adaption to BCG rc gear.
I bought it but it will be a while before I can get around to doing the mods.
The prop, wings, fuselage, motor, batteries etc are all perfectly matched and it flies, so the hard work is pretty much done. All I have to do now is install the actuators and maybe a slightly stronger battery.
If only I had the spare time….I will get to it eventuallyIt wont be too late.
Numbers might fluctuate from time to time but we will always be here as long as the site is maintained.
I think it is alarmist to say things are fading.but only if you want to settle for second best and forever be known as only a ‘clone’ owner.
Goodluck.Yeh, I have trouble with the “not opening the boxes” part as well.
:)uASpot on, Jamie. I was thinking exactly the same thing as I read down this string of posts.
Leave it alone. Everybody knows it, it looks good, it aint broken, dont go trying to fix it.
Enuf said.:angry:Mine is the red Toyota Celica GT-R, and it was an absolute bargain for one of these.
I love it. It is so different.
Im feeling a bit insecure now that my life may be in danger:smiley2:

Some ideas on collecting and values and so on………
As far as collecting goes, the worldwide appeal of these cars seems to be enduring. High prices are still being sought and achieved. Specific toys sometimes hit a nerve with collectors and the BCGs are one of these. Anyone can go down to the local toy store and buy a mainstream BCG, but the limited edition models are special and have a stronger appeal for their scarcity.
As for values, they continue to increase as less are available for sale. Ebay is considered the general barometer for values but in reality the serious prices are being paid for BCGs that dont even make it to Ebay.
Would it surprise you if I said that an Xbox Rallysport BCG can now not be bought for less than US$350.(AU$600) If you offer more you might be able to tempt someone to part with one. The last transaction I know of at this price was last week. Two months ago one was sold for US$400. This is the upper extreme but it IS happening and it will continue to happen as long as collectors see the need to fill collections. The accessibility and appeal of the product makes these a good target for collectors because they are known to so many people worldwide. Tomy have carefully structured a product to entertain on many levels and the adults with the cash have their place too.
The thing with collecting these is that anybody can start, it doesnt have to be expensive initially. You might just have one or two standard models and then decide you want one that not everybody else has got. So you buy youself a Calsonic or a Voltz. You might want to use it, you might want to stow it away and see how the value goes. But if you have been bitten, you will want another, and another, and before long the collection grows.
Its fun to watch someone elses rare BCG go for sale on ebay, knowing you have one of those and that there arent that many of them available for people to buy. It ads another dimension to a hobby that is popular accross the globe and fortunately the Tomy BCGs are the original and continue to demand the higher prices. You dont see any collection interest in the clones at all, and rightly so.
I know people who collect Leggo and Playstation games and it is the same there too. As time goes on the values are maintained and increased because of the scarcity of the item. If people use or destroy their car, another is lost, and the value of the remaining BCGs goes up.
Look at StarWars toys for example (and I dont claim BCGs are as big a phenominum as Star Wars, but) there are a strong buch of followers even now, who still seek toys at amazing prices because they are just not available anymore.
As time goes on these cars will be known as the ones that started it all, and a canny collector will have all the important ones and the aspiring collectors will be looking for the ones they need to fill the holes in their collection. These will be obtained from the average person who has one or two limited editions on the shelf that are in mint condition. That is you and me, mostly.
You say you dont have a specific reason for buying one. Do you really need one. It just makes the whole hobby that much more unique to have limited editions that are not freely available, and people will pay good money to obtain the missing pieces to their collections.Thats why I have a few of the rarer ones.
Oh yeh and then theres the fun factor too.

Being fully proportional should be fun too. My Keyence Mad Tune is soooooo tiny its amazing. It looks like a cockroach running around the floor and its fully proportional control too.
:)uAthe battery terminals and the contacts should always be clean for any electrical circuit to work properly. If you have acid or powder build up outside the battery, thro the battery away and replace it, it is leaking. Even tho it may still work, it wont for long. Better off with a fresh new battery.
uAI have a twin cell bit that can out run my running treadmill at 20Km/h.:D Yes 20…just before it burnt out its 3.8.. And it doesnt flip over when you put it into corners. Hard to tell why its my favourite.:)
As far as timing goes, the Bit Racer lap timers are EXCELLENT for drag times, best lap times, and timed races. An absolute must for anyone who wants to do accurate timing of BGC speeds. Or speeds of any R/C car or even slot cars for that matter.
:)uACongratulations dgs73, welcome to the next level.:approve:
To membership of an elite breed of BCG owners.
Remember, never EVER take it out of the box.
Its power shines from within.
The tape must stay on.
Dont weaken, dont be tempted.
:DuAI’ll let you know when it arrives. It is my newest one and is due in the next couple of days, hopefully before easter. I have been told that with an extra cell ( total 3 cells) and BCG rims and tyres they are almost comparable to a mini z. Thats a big statement so I’ll be very interested to see how it actually turns out. I will let you know.
uA 🙂New pullbacks look good too, nice bodies and rims, I can see bits and pieces flying around the workbench pretty soon.
Nah man, but I got some good Tomy char, you lookin for char…..modelista man, its good stuff.
You look like you need a fix.Is the front of the top peice clipped in properly.
There must be a gap somewhere that allows it to pop off. Or there is a crack that you cant see that opens up when you colide with something.Hey ph2t, I have a theory that the range increase you experienced was only because of the Vcc increase (from 3v to 5v) on the chip, and not due to the Vcc increase on the Rf cct. Any chance you can test this while you have a test rig going. I’m strung a bit for time, its either forums or play or electronics, and at the moment its forums.
:)uAYeh there is. Alot has been written about it, I think QFM has a fairly straight forward instruction to remove it. It is an smt cap and doesnt always make a huge difference. If you remove it be sure to retune the vari-inductance to get maximum effect.
