Hi mate, there are about 8 regulars who meet at my place every month or so in central Vic, it is very casual but heaps of fun. Unfortunately i am going for a round Australia trip shortly and we wont be starting up till later in the year. I will get it happening when i get back.
Sorry about the late reply, sounds great guys, i will start organising. I am thinking late Feb at this stage.
Looking good, will start with the organising. Any more interested. Has anyone got any ideas as to what classes they would like.
OMG that is just so cute, gotta have one, had a losi xxxt, have a mini t, me just want one now, can see us now Kero racing these on our mini z track with a few little jumps thrown in, man i wish these pricks would stop bringing out new products, cant help myself, i got issues, me wanna slash up, i need help!!! PLEASE HELP ME.
Yeeeeeeeeeeeehaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa
If i was to organise a formal race meeting up here in central Victoria sometime in the next couple of months, would you lot from the city make the 2 hour drive? To make it worth my while i would require around 20 racers. I have already got 8 regular in my local area, i think there might be around 6 or 8 Mini z drivers from Bendigo. So if 6 or more from Melbourne made the trip on a weekend day, i would plan a properly structured race meeting, complete with 8 lane laser triggered computer timing system, top level carpeted track and 4 classes (stock rwd, mod rwd, stock awd, mod awd). Oh, i might just get the BBQ cracking too. I am open for suggestions. PM me if you are intersted.
I’ll be there.
Its 1hr 45mins north west from the city. You can go up the Calder or the Western Hwy. My track and my brothers track are about 10 mins from each others. Mine is carpet while his is painted concrete. You lot are more than welcome, a night meet through the week or a weekend day, both would suit me.
Anyone is welcome, PM me if you are serious.
Thanks heaps, i will try these and let you know. Do you think they will need to be ground, they look a bit thick.
Yes Kero they BOUNCE off the walls. This track should suit your driving style perfectly. HAHAHAHA Just kidding mate. See you Thursday mate.
I have both AWD and a Monster and so far am very pleased with both of my purchases. My AWD has gone through a few stages of tune so far with faster motors like the Iwaver-plus, which very quickly cooked my FET’S i might add. Then a Spider external Fet job, then a Kyosho X-Speed with PN ballbearing can (which proved too fast for my driving ability). So i ended up with the original AWD armature in the PN ballbearing can with taller gearing and a much more driver freindly car. As far as other mods go, bearings, aluminium motor mounts and cover, battery cover front 1 degree front hubs and some white lowering springs and spacers which i am yet to fit. I too feel the AWD is a great out of the box car and personally am finding it a bit counter productive going too far with mods, instead i am concentrating on purchasing more cars (F1 is next, then maybe i will try one of these mr o2’s) and having a more varied selection of cars to drive. Oh, these Monster trucks are just awesome fun and the only mod i am doing at this stage is aluminium shock mounts and oil shocks (on order), i also am in the process of making an obstacle/stadium/supercross style track in the middle of my on-road carpet track.Thats my bit, bye.
PaulYou might want to check if your speed controller/reciever will handle anything more powerful than the losi pro/Venom before you purchase the Graupner. I kinda think it would be on its limit.
Cheers
PaulI have not tried a Venom, but from what i have heard they are longer lasting than the losi pro motor but go about the same speed. The Venom has a steel endbell (as does the Graupner) where the Losi has a plastic (my original Losi pro motor lasted about 6 battery charges before it melted the endbell). The Graupner has a heap more power than both (and cheaper) but you have to modify the motor plate. You could always go brushless, never have to worry about changing motor again. Brushless are close to $200 AU though. Whatever you buy, buy more than one, you will need a spare.
Cheers
PaulThanx for the info.

Just a word of advice Kerosene, you will have to modify the motor mount a little to fit the 300, a dremell is very handy. The 300 has a wider hole to hole distance.
I have a Mini T pro and love this little beast. It jumps like my larger xxxt and i have just fitted a Graupner 300 and it pulls mad wheel stands. I mostly run mine indoors on a carpet track but have ran it on large outdoor tracks as well without any probs. I recommend the pro version because it has oil shocks, dual slipper, ball diff, CV’s and other goodies. ( But you will have to buy Esc, Servo and reciever). Mini T’s are great fun and very capable little trucks that will take a beating.
To be honest hybrid liter, it has got a bit too much traction and rarely spins out. I have only an AWD car so it really hangs on in the corners. I tried some harder tyres from an Iwaver and it was a bit loose in the rear. I cant wait until i get a rear wheel drive to make it a bit more challenging. I am currently working on a timing system using lazer pointers and flags on the antenna. When all is complete i will invite a few for a race meeting. I will probably sell this track soon to make way for a larger one (have room for twice the size), this track has been an experiment.
Thank you, here are some pics for those who cant view the vid.
Found problem, it seems the Iwaver motor was the culprit. I installed the original motor and all is well, it ‘s only a little bit slower but much more drivable and run time doubled. Is it posible that the Iwaver motor could be interfering with the steering? It would sometimes dive to the right under acceleration quite uncontrolable, it’s like it is on rails now.
Oh, should i be lubricating the pinions and gears, mine appears to be wearing a bit.
Cheers
PaulFebruary 22, 2006 at 4:19 am in reply to: iwaver’s.. are the parts really compatible with miniz’s? #44000I bought an Iwaver 02. It was crap, worked for about 4 battery runs. Steering was always jittering, would only work sometimes, could not get it to steer straight then wires fell off. Came to my senses and bought a KYOSHO, have not looked back, chalk and cheese, far better quality. Only my experiences though, maybe others have had better runs. If you want to enjoy your hobby, then you should try to eliminate things that cause you grief such as poorly made cars.
Cheers
PaulThanks for the replies guys, i really dont think my problem is with the charging or the batteries, i have several chargers (LRP Competition 2) ( super nova 250s) (Novak ionic). Unfortunately i have only one mini z (so cannot compare with another)and i run on my indoor carpet track which is also quite fast, so thinking because car spends most of the time full throttle with vertually no wheel spin which equates to heaps of current draw. If the iwaver motor is no good then, what motor should i get? The standard AWD motor was way to slow for my liking or my track.
Sorry I should have been a bit more specific, there are 2 definite dead spots in my shed. if i stop any of my cars (mini t/iwaver or either transmitters jrxr2/futaba2pl) in these areas of about 1 square meter, they do not respond to any signal until i move the transmitter up or down or forward or backward say 200 mm or so. My question really is if is there anything i can do to reduce the effect the corrigated iron is having on my signals. I dont know if painting, covering with plaster or modifying the cars will help.
Much appreciated guys, will go the awd and start making a track now.
