Mate, If you need a lift I may be able to accomodate. Betty is not far from you and you know where I work so keep that in mind if wifey busts ya balls (I gots one too, I know what they’re like).
Bring the max, there’s a shitload of gravel/dirt nearby….. If the 18t ever needed a gearbox, now is the time!

UPDATE: I have to go pickup the mother in law from the airport saturday morning. Prolly won’t be able to pick you up betty till midday :(.
ph2t.
dude, they take bit-charg batts. If you’ve got threewith matching mAh valuesjust replace them. It should be good from there on in.
ph2t.
yeah, the new models have seperate servo’s. The bigger issue is that the huge margin that iwaver had over kyosho’s is dissappearing and beccoming less of a selling point with them….
ph2t.
Just so this doesn’t become a one way thread, lol……
I’ve got mine and it’s pretty sweet to look at! She will be a shelf queen for a lil while longer though….
ph2t.
no worries, let us know how you go!
cheers,

ak73 pro a , welcome to ausmicro! 🙂
The xspeed pro is what is called a ‘hot’ motor. A ‘hot’ motor requires a mosfet upgrade (stacking) or an external turbo to run.
For stacking mosfets on the IW-02 I reccomend the IRF7317 mosfets from the ausmicro.com shop. They are equal to the popular si4562 mosfets that you may find in your investigations.
For stacking mosfets in the IW-02, I wrote this review (inc pictures) here:
For the IRF7317 mosfets, go here:

Best price you will find, including for international!
hope this helps.

http://www.rcpics.net/view_single.php?medid=57767
5MB, Divx format.
It shows my new motor in action, the uberdash.
The supra miniz is running my uberdash motor and 7t pinion, nelly v1.2
The yellow porsche xmod is running an S04 with 11t pinion, nelly v1.2

Izlord, sounds like they’ve blown mate. Ship it back to me and I’ll repair it with some new fets. Or, if you want let me know and I’ll ship you out some replacement mosfets if you wish to do it yourself.
nelly v1.2 can handle a 7.2V setup, I’ve tested that. But a high current 7.4V setup (lipo or 2 sets of li-ions in parallel) can blow it up. It was this feedback that made me design nelly v1.3, it handles the 7.x V setup no sweats.
Your call mate. I fyou want to upgrade to the 1.3v due to your investment in li-ions let me know, we can do a deal.
Although I’ll say this. A li-ion/li-poly mini-z is soooo fast it’s just not funny. As betty will atest, my lipo mr02 needed about 10m to get up to speed. Not because of lack of torque but due to the fact that any faster in acceleration and the bloody thing would spin out. This was with an extra slippery diff and foams.

sorry mate, yeah email notifications……
I get a shitload of email notifications from the one time I posted in that Sydeny GTG thread…. I just don’t care what those dickheads get up to on a day-by-day basis, lol…..

I’d love it if you could get the lower pinions in full alloy. I’m finding now with the plasmatomic and uberdash motors of mine that 6t and 7t are great combo’s that sill have a great top speed for even larger tracks (templestowe).
The bugger is the stock plastic pinions wear after a few hours of use. I know you can get the alloy collar and delrin gear ones but for me they seem bit of a waste.
Still, 8t in full alloy would be great, so I’ll grab a couple of them for sure.
cheers,

I’ll pay ya $10 to scan the bugger in, lol…..

…the drawback with this pattern of motor is having one brush leading and one trailing as they both should be trailing.
You hit the nail right on the head with this statement toyo. I ‘m actually trying to do this at the moment with the endbell/brushes setup on the atomic can. The goal is then that the motor has both brushes trailing when in the fwd direction. This would decrease futher brush friction and hopefully be a physically evident performance boost.

ph2t.
can t seem to post a pic, the arse end of the thread goes to shit….. hmmm….
ph2t.
forgot to post the pic, lol…
So how s your 18t going mate?
Whatever you do don”t buy the TOPCAD 300 pro motor from rcmart. It”s a total piece of crap.
5 minutes in the back yard running a 15t pinion and a gp1100 pack fried the bastard……
See attached pic….
grrrrrrrrrrr…

I got them from trick rc.
http://www.zagi.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=138
cost me about $32USD after shipping, ouch!
in the spirit of any rc nut though it was worth it! lol….

bugger to hear about the first attempt mate, shoot that one back and I ll fix it for ya.
from the speed quoted I take it you built the plasmatomic with neo magnets?
My favorite config at the moment is neos and an 8t as well. If you’re not running with a ball diff then I suggest you get one. I have mine set to a lightly less than medium give (whatever that means, lol! ). I’ve found the iwaver diff more consistent that my GPM one. You can get one from the ausmicro.com shop.
cheers,
ph2t.
I used them, the bearing popped out on one, lol…
I ve put a few prebuilt and broken in plasmatomics on the bay, check it out here.
