I put a ferrite magnet plasmatomic motor in it now and tuned it to 83kph (51mph), this was with a 12t pinion. lol….

here’s a small video of it.

yeah, that appears to be one of the better alloy bumpers at the moment, I’ve read favourable reviews of it.

It seems to cover the bottom shock mounts better, being that it’s coverage is quite wide with the two bars.

I bought the GPM, it’s been trashed pretty well, lol, but it still holds up. Have to reshape it at times with the pliers, lol…

Don’t those shocks come with an adjustable nut on a thread instead of spacers?

If you’re gonna get an alloy part, get an alloy front bumper man, saved my butt many times….

Got my new clear blue chassis in the mail today so I could now finally put it on and get rid of the butched one you see in my previous pictures. This setup has several advantages over the initial setup.

    1) I’m using 600mah powerquest 12C discharge lipo’s vs. the 450mah Hi-Tec’s.
    2) These lipos fit in the AAA battery bays!
    3) The chassis is intact and I can finally put a shell on, lol..
    3) The hplate is now back in the shortest position (stock MM)…
    4) Using 1deg camber steering knuckles
    5) Using 1deg toe-in tierod.
    6) Lipo pack weighs 26grams, a set of four AAA nimhs weighs 49 grams!

I use softer front suspension springs now, due to the decrease in battery weight.

The camber helps the chassis hold the corners, I may put in an ultra-thin atomic h-plate I have to see if it will allow me to increase my speed through cornering.

The diff is very slippery, otherwise I just spin out. A ball diff is a must in this setup.

With the 6t pinion it’s soo fast it’s not funny. I’m going to swap out the neo magnets for ferrite ones soon to see if this helps. I could realistically reduce the torque on this.

Here’s some pics, notice the knew lipos are thicker yet shorter, making this chassis way more viable.

The shell is a Mclaren F1 MM shell. A great handling shell. I painted this one red and removed the rear (easily broken) wing. Bogged up a lot of holes/depressions, etc….

Soon I’ll have some video, I promise! lol…

    Cheers,

lol, good luck mate! One you know tell me!

If you’re talking about the springs that go in the outdrives and help hold the dogbones in place you can use mini-z front suspension springs, they work a treat…..

Give me a call on the mobile if you need any.

2.5mm nuts and bolts kit from disk smith work well. I think that’s the one. When I get home I’ll check. didn’t the grappy come with a cap on it? hmmmm, shit, I might not be running one then….

my 16t pinion is not alloy but composite plastic. It’s from the stock xray m18 pinion kit from rcmart.com. Because it’s plastic it bites into the ribbed shaft.

I take it you have an alloy pinion? I’ve never got ’em to work with the grappy’s fucked shaft.

hey Izlord, here’s the atomic mounts.

You can get two versions now. There is the standard one, for MM shells.

ATOMIC (#AR53R) Motor Mount (RD) For Kyosho Mini-Z MM
    http://www.rcmart.com/catalog/product_info.php?cPath=144_21_474_476&products_id=12391

And there is the new 94mm long version of the same tyupe of mount. This one allows you to use the RM shells which before needed some hacking of the wheel well to fit onto a mm chassis.

ATOMIC (#AR60R) Alu. Motor Mount For 94mm Wheelbase (RD)

    http://www.rcmart.com/catalog/product_info.php?cPath=144_21_474_476&products_id=12391

See here for more info regarding the 94mm version and the different parts needed if you end up going with an atomic dampening system.

    http://www.egrracing.com/mart/product_info.php?cPath=21_74_58&products_id=455

Note, there are available in three different colours, red, blue and silver.

yeah, Aaron has a more balanced approach to the whole mosfet thing. he’s going for compact install(possibly on the pcb?) yet still achieve a lower “on resistance” in the mosfets. This is what gives you more power. I’m interested to see what he comes out with in the end. 🙂

charlie. yeah, it’s been proven before that 1:18 scale motor pinions are compatible with the 130 sized motors. That 20t would definately top a 100kph I reakon, but an example is all it would be. In reality it would have no balls…

    cheers,

    ph2t.
