I’ll be there next week dgs. By then hopefully we’d have faster Z’s, the speed at which those melbournites go is insane! It seems the fastest we get is with plasma dash….

dude, none of us (apart from pork_hunt) were running plasma’s. I wish! I was running a 35turn. leon was running a 37turn and betty was running an x-speed(45turn)……

    Well, here’s the first video:

    race1.jpg

Basically this was the closest we got to a real race for the whole day! It’s starts out with cars going everywhere and basically the only car that crossed the finish line was merc’s M03.

man, you really are busting out the skeletons. Good luck when you try to pulse Fwd with left or right. That’s where the issues start. See back a page for more info.

An upgrade motor….X speed costs a bloody lot considering the power, there are cheaper, better quality, faster motors.

    Like what?

    haha, yeah……

anyways, I’ve maksed the car for the inside paint job. I’m using white here for it’s ability to reflect light as excellent……

time to place the waiting game…….

Well, lets just say that I’m still going on with this. I’ve started trialing some new MOSFETS that are even better performing ones that the current setup. nelly 1.1 has 30% more power than my original nelly 1.0.

I’ve also just come across some even newer MOSFETS that (if workable) have the ability for nelly to push even more hardcore energy! yeah baby!

So far nelly’s 1.0 and 1.1 are going well and never heating up. My mini-z madforce with a plasma dash motor and 14T pinion STILL pops wheelies! You gotta love it.

Here’s some info that shows you how Woah Nelly (theoretically) compares to the age old method of FET stacking.

Now if only my mr01 and madforce weren’t outta commision I’d get some video happening. I busted my madforce’s rear shock – pillow ball mount. Don’t have a spare:evil:! This is what happens when you launch the madforce from the roofs of mates’ cars.:p

rims have been ordered mate from rcmart, the reveresed tires was a fuckup, fixed now……

dgs, I hear ya man about the servo setup on the front end but there was no modding needed, the alloy part just fit right in. Before commiting to this expensive alloy part I bought an Overland clear servo gear box to test it, once I confirmed it was ok I then bought the alloy version…..

Well, sales must of been good cause rcmart is now out of stock on the front damper mount.

So I hope all you madforce owners out there got your order in soon enough!

    my churning rate sofar:

new broken front damper mounts: 3
    re-broken front mounts(after glued): 6-7 times

got alloy front damper mount (OL bastard son version).

    Now….

new busted front servo case: 3
re-busted front servo case: 5 times

now getting OL alloy servo case, the top half will fit….. 🙂

this is the general casualty list:

    busted oil shock shaft
    busted front right steering knuckle
    severly cracked rear rims
    front rims cracked
broken servo wires, replaced with own, better now
    fried 3 seperate FET stacks
    fried stock FETS
and I won’t even talk about the shell……

    UPDATE

Well I finally got the pinion to stay on tight and bloody hell, this thing is faaaaast! I believe I have now broken the 40kph barrier or at least I have achieved close to it.

I’m happy that the madforce still wheelies when going from rev to fwd. It doesn’t wheelie from a standing start anymore like it did when I had the 12t pinion in it.

I still think I can get another %10 – %20 out of it with a faster motor. Currently it’s a plasma dash armature, I’m sure I can get it to go faster.

You gotta love the torque though, with 14t it’s still poopin wheelies, you have nelly to thank for that! lol….

good question otp. I know she can handle a 12t armature in the madforce, at speed(no load) currrent draw was 1.7A. I think for these cars around the 20-22 turn mark is prolly optimum, I will wind an armature with this and see what the performance is like….

Also, all the high current drain is on nelly’s pcb. I tap straight into the battery terminals. Only four signal wires goto the Z/iwaver PCB.

the rubbers came from http://www.minizstore.com . Their prices are a little higher than rcmart, their shipping is good. They also have stuff that rcmart doesn’t have….

I like these tyres, I like them a lot more than the stock treads. they grib a lot better, especially on concrete and indoor smooth surfaces like tiles and wooden floorboards.

In the grass the car seems to glide a bit over the terrain, unlike the stock treads.. the outcome is that the front end doesn’t bounce around as much. I still have spring shocks on the front since I busted the shaft on one of my oil shocks, so that makes the front a bit stiff anyway…
