well, I bought the front and rear on ebay a few days ago, and then this pops up at rcmart. they were a few $$ cheaper but still, at the end of the day it’s costing me $33USD inc shipping to get ’em here.
dude, in the 2nd picture at the back, you see those purple fuzy things? they’re li-ion 3.6V 1.3Ah batts, yeah baby! 🙂 gotta make a charger for them first but….
I can’t get the grub screw thingy to sit tight enough, what a POS! The pinion shears loose after a couple of fwd/rev motions, so I gotta fix that first…..

thanks fellas,
I’m having issues though. fwd isn’t as fast as rev. I think the motor isn’t sitting %100 flat….
hmm……
it’s not the wrong thing dude, just a different thing…. it’s cool….chill….
barrell has a tomy booster going for $30AUS, that’s the best price I’ve seen ever. Check out his recent thread in buy, sell….

each to their own charlie, learn to respect that…..
the only issue of soldering all the drain pins together is that of over-heating.

stacking fets is for chumps charlie. Go read up on the theory of mosfets and YOU TELL ME why you shouldn’t stack fets…..
ph2t..
do we have a timeline yet? what date(s) in spring? we should set a date and work backward’s. trust me, years of project managment have told me that you must set a date first!
I would be keen to come but I gotta speak to the ‘ol ball and chain, and then there’s the issue of sourcing a car (one car family)…
So I’m keen but I can’t promise anything…
cheers,

the fets shown in Charlie’s last picture are the fets that need to be removed.
if you’re going to go external then Nelly is way better. The design Charlie links is good but the FETS are selected for the wrong reasons.
you don’t need insanly high current capable fets when you design for ultra low on-resistance. The low on-resistance in the fets is what gives you such high torque. the design above has a low on-resistance yes, but NOT as low as what Nelly can do ;).
Given Nelly’s ultra-low on-resistance, the size of the fet can be smaller, this is because the fets in nelly don’t dissipate lots of power (less than 1W). test’s have proven this…..

yeah, it looks that the iwaver fet’s are pin for pin compatible with the mini-z fets…..

In the flesh it looks better, half od those @!#$ parts are mine! lol…..

the yeah racing crystal packs use adjacent frequencies, they don’t conflict with kyosho…

an interesting lunch break today, lol…..
we pretty mucf found out that my madforce is as fast (if not a teeny weeny bit faster) than a racer with an xspeed and a 9t pinion…
that’s a fast truck! lol!
ph2t.
your mr01 wannabee will have some madforce treadmarks over it shortly! lol….
Great work there man! A very clean job. I would not reccomend a plasma dash just yet! A dash could kill your 2X2 stack, I had it happen to me……
Get the 35t motor from http://www.minizworkshop.com, great place, cheap motors, great performers. I got the 35 turn from there and I’m very happy. It’s faster than the X-speed and has excellent torque to boot! If you want to go fast then get the plasma dash from rcmart.com. But beware! it could fry that lovely stack of yours….
well done!

email them to ph2t@tpg.com.au, I can host ’em 🙂
members can have multiple instances of ausmicro open. this affects the member count. the code is prolly just accounting for this and hence showing a guest reding PM’s when it’s actaully a member doing this. whenever jamie gets on the member list like quadruples in size! the lazy bastard opens like 50 pages of ausmicro.

wow, great stuff mate, you’re gonna have to show us some pics of this monster!
wow! ken! you know your stuff, thanks for that! helps me out as well!

cool vid. Cameraman could of used s tripod though.
Just right mouse click on the link and select save as…..
Also, use DAP, getright is for chumps…..!
ha!

interesting find there mate. I think you might find that that the motor was SHORTING itself out therefore leaving nothing to keep the current through the fets down. This was possibly what cause your fets to burn out, given the excess current load. Hell, it’s lucky you didn’t put biff on it! lol….
ph2t.
can you network it? ie: multiplayer?
this is mad! can’t wait to see it fully done!
