Alloy wheels? They’re pricey! I mean really pricey! But readily available… Plastics are a little harder to find.
For Bearings my recommendation is to use the PN racing MR01/02 bearing sets with the rubber shields and not worry about the two bearings buried in the gearbox.
Otherwise I’d have to sell you complete metal shielded sets that just don’t seem to have the dust protection.

Site Owner Guy.Talldude: Red H1 is yours and shoudl turn up within 14 -21 days – AUD50
Big Dave: Unpainted X5 is coming AUD30
Pete & Dave: H2 Hummers (Yellow and Silver/Grey) AUD50 each
All this gear is comign from the same supplier and shoudl all turn up in the same time-frame, although these guys work on ‘order queues’ which means it comes as it lands in their stock.
I’ve only listed the bodies up here as I know you’re all trying to not get t he same 😉

Site Owner Guy.I always recommend the bearins and ball diff for starters. No matter what teh Mini-Z chassis (or iWaver equivalent) they make all the difference to the performance.
Once you have that get used ot the handling and work out what you need to make the car handle to suit your driving style.
Springs, dampers, hot motors etc all only help you hit solid things faster, this will happen a lot while you’re getting used the car.

Site Owner Guy.In Singapore you should be able to get deals around the USD100-150 area depending on model. However realistically you want to have plenty of luggage space to take the 1.5kg of MR02 package 🙂
Things to keep your eye out for in shops in Asia are Bodies and alloy parts as they’re hard to get a wide range in Australia. We stock a lot of alloy stuff but just can’t afford to stock all the options as there’s not enough demand here yet.
If this is your first ‘z I recommend you get a stock Readyset, add a ball-diff and then simply enjoy driving it fdor a while. You won’t start breaking parts or needing hotter motors initially. It means you learn the car, and can customise the handling and performance to suit your skills and driving style.

Site Owner Guy.If there’s any particualr MR02 you want please let me know and I’ll price it for you. The ausmicro.com shop prices are competitive with prices from HK etc and typically much more competitive that Hobby Shop prices.

Site Owner Guy.Hi,
The motor will fit in any Mini-Z, but because it draws a lot more power than a stock motor you should have ‘stronger’ FETs installed into your car. There’s two ways of doing this. The Externally mounted ‘Woah Nelly’ and the Internally mounted FET stack.
The ausmicro.com Shop can supply FETs for you to stack, or ph2t (an ausmicro.com member) can supply a Woah Nelly.
FETs: shop.ausmicro.net

Site Owner Guy.I was tweaking the Gallery display code today. I made a few changes before adding in the page views code. It started before mods being 0.064s to load. Then with it tidied up with a change to how it talked to the database it went up to 0.105s Chucked in the code for the coutner and it stabilised at 0.109s
This varies depending on where you are in the list of users and so on, but it’s interesting to note that changing the code to make the database interaction more efficient (file is about 30% smaller) and the code neater made it slower!
Yes I’m enjoying the timer.
BTW my PM Inbox is now averaging 20.000s

Site Owner Guy.I have some DG Masters enroute for the shop at the moment. The IW02 board like the IW04 board share the ‘Pro’ FETs too! Some minor hookup differences but considering I got IW02 boards when I ordered Pro boards last they’re pretty much interchangeable.
I’ve got a larger TE stock order being quoted by their Wholesale people at the moment as well, so once that lands I’mm be back in a position to work on the group-buy.
However, if there’s anythign you want just PM me and if I can chuck it in a regular order I’ll do my best 🙂
(Yes mocky, your Batteries are coming soon)

Site Owner Guy.How’s the saying go ‘Drift Piggy – that good now we send Australia’….
For those that don’t know what I’m talking about there’s a vid getting round the ‘net of a couple of guys in Japan who ship used cars to Australia for sale as low-volume imports. In the vid they basically thrash the crap outa these cars, and these the above line of dialogue after a pretty heavy drift session……
The thing is most people in Australia belive these imports have very little abuse 😉

Site Owner Guy.Best manual timing system I’ve seen ran on one of those handheld PC (technically is was a Psion) with a touch screen. The screen had big buttons for each car that were pressed each tiem the car completed a lap. It then did lap times, lap counts, and all that stuff including beeping like crazy att eh end of the race.
Manual timing like that is not as accurate as an electronic system but usually will give results that are fair and most importantly track lap counts which is often the hardest thing.

Site Owner Guy.Which motor was it? The S04 or the S05? *ponders* There’s a new revised S03 on the way that’s supposed to be up to 20% stronger than the previous S03 😉

Site Owner Guy.Why not settle on one of the FET friendly PN motors? Little more go than an X-Speed without being a silly speed demon that fries everythign 😉

Site Owner Guy.The fix for that shoudl be to find the post where you checked the ‘send me e-mail notifications’ and edit the post un-checking the box.
That _should_ fix the issue.

Site Owner Guy.I’ll see what I can do for both smaller and larger sizes. As pure solid alloy pieces (mounted with grub-screw) these should be lighter than any compareable metal pinion and should be more robust than the alloy/delrin combos.

Site Owner Guy.Unsubscribe from a Topic…. Mmmmmm Do you mean teh e-mail noticifactions or actual Subscriptions?
I think I better read some 🙂

Site Owner Guy.Natural finish alloy. But for anyone who’s a little keen it would be easy enough to coat with tinited lacquer or pseudo anodise yourself 😉

Site Owner Guy.These shoudl have 2mm bore for the shaft, and likewise should be 48 pitch. I’m sourcing them based on fitment to uRS4 and Mini-Z which we already know are interchangeable with the right mount.
I’m looking at options for leger, but we’ll probably just stock Atomic/Homies etc not source and pack our own in bulk.
I shoudl also not that these ones are chosen for their light weight and size, not for mega toughness, they are light (aircraft grade) alloy and will be fine for uRS4 and Mini-Z but when you start runnign them in bigger heavier cars with brushless etc you may find they wear compared to the steel pinions.

Site Owner Guy.By saying it’s Bacon Dave you could be implying his car is a fat lazy porker of a thing that could barely get it’s single-parent 8 teet udder ouf the way of a stock IW00 😉
