Site Owner Guy.Depends, as said the Baja CHamp ain’t the greatest, but the parts are plentyful, it’s nice and simple 4wd, and generally tough enough.
You may find it harder to get parts for the Evader – again it’s a simple thing but tough, and funt o drive – rwd only though.

Site Owner Guy.Yeah – and me being Canberra based means that I don’t have the beach tempting me immediately…
It’s something that I think the Kitty will find interesting as well – considering we killed both our cars on the same day on the same beach, it was her turn to loose a drive shaft (I broke one last year) have you ever tried to find on of those things on a huge expanse of chopped up sand?
At the moment I’m thinking Wild Willy or Wild Dagger Wheels/tyres… a slightly gruntier motor and completely sealed electronics….

Site Owner Guy.I charged 7 battery packs in a row while away using an old peak detection charger off the car… it still cranked and fired fine the next morning.
Pity about drowing the RC though 🙁

Site Owner Guy.Yeah… the ‘old’ car is a “BG” series Astina SP (1.8L DOHC)
The other (black) one is a 323 SP20 (or Protege5 for the US market).
The blue one is ofcourse “Bruce”, my XR6T… He’s about to turn 15000km old.

Site Owner Guy.It will essentially look and feel the same – and quite a few things will be even more friendly than they are at the moment 😉
*grins*
Thanks to everyone who’s pm’d supporting the changes. It’s nice to know that a good number of you are keen to put your faith in the Team to deliver the changes!

Site Owner Guy.Jowlz, If you can’t afford to pay you won’t miss out out on anything you can do right now! I can’t repeat this enough!
You don’t need to pay any money to keep doing what you’re doing right now.
We are trying to offer extra stuff to people who choose to contribute in an effort to create a little operating cash for the site, and to do more stuff for everyone. The core of the site will always be 100% free to anyone … I won’t have it any other way!
Every member, paying or not paying is as important to me becuase without each and every on of you ausmicro.com wouldn’t be the great site it is today!

Site Owner Guy.Only part of it – just doing some live testing of part of the code and demo’ing some bits for everyone….
The May 1st Day will see us go down for a few hours to bring all the features we’ve been working on live… At that point we’ll be open for subscritions etc etc..
A.
--
Site Owner Guy.You may just be the second 😉
The current flags people are showing is more a part of the ‘testing’ and awareness phase. Things will only kick off in May.
$24 a year ($2 month!!) will see people get extra features and the ability to do more on the site.
Every thing that the cashola is used for will be accoutned for, ie vacking a Race day, paying upfront costs for stickers or shirts and so on.
As for collecting. PayPal will be available for people O/S, for those within Australia direct Bank deposit, Money order, cash, whatever. The “Subscription” will expire 12 months after it’s entered into the system and you will get reminder PM/E-mails before that.
Really the first batch of features are a drop in the water of what we probably can and will offer if we get the support.

Site Owner Guy.OK – I have recovered the Track Barrier files from Backups and they are now available from our server!
Please take advantage of these awesome creations when customising your raceway.
So take yourself to the Files/Download Page….

Site Owner Guy.Guys,
I’m all for these kind of things getting off theground and in whatever way ausmicro.com can help I’ll make it so. Once we kick up speed a bit we should be able to do something about backing and hall hire etc you guys do and all that… Participants would still have to pay but at least it’d be a fixed amount and ausmcro.com would cover the difference (shoudl there be a shortfall.I’d also suggest at that point we talk about the nasty stuff like public liability cover and so forth.
Essentially if its a few of your guys getting together you’ll be fine but if you start getitng some numbers a lot of things like that come into play.
I can provide hi-res ausmicro.com logo artwork etc if you need it for flyers….
