They are about AUD40. They’re 8cm long with what looks like 1cm extra wheelbase over a stadard Bit. I’ll do some comparison pics tomorrow and post them up.

Site Owner Guy.FreeLoader101 – Drop Bears aren’t that dangerous – it’s the Gum Drop Bears that are the real problem. Or is that the big bad Banksia men?
Yeah Croc is available here prepacked from butchers – but it’s expensivve and uncommon…

Site Owner Guy.That is a sweet effort – totally cool and excellent choice of car 😉

Site Owner Guy.It may take a while – but it will happen. I’m trying to deliver the best compromise between security and giving people freedom 😉
There are some other programming projects in the queue before this one too.

Site Owner Guy.It should be a successful day – at the very least it will be a great meet-and-greet session and we should all have a good deal of fun!

Site Owner Guy.*laughs* But there is a butcher her ein the ACT where you can buy Croc, Roo, Possum, Rabbit, Hare and a couple of other things that I personally class as weird 😉

Impreza – yeah only members can vote. Like most things with the site I’m trying to remove the ability to ‘manipulate’ things without being a member 😉

Site Owner Guy.You could try the “rub on” lettering that’s used to habby electronics etc. Check out Tricky Dickies or Jaycar or something liek that 😉
Letraset is a trade name that springs to mind – dunno if thats the right one though 😉 certainly a range of typefaces, colours and sizes available!

Site Owner Guy.*laughs* All I’m gonna say is that while I’ll be handing down to see the flick I would take any represenation of the cars as being fairly unrealistic.
The last one was full of gaping technical errors and incorrect applications of the various bits of technology and I suspect this one will be just as bad.
That said there’s along history of cars being manipulated to meet a movie makers needs. (The immediate example would be Bullet, where the Dodge needed to be down tuned and undertyred for the filming becuase it was creaming the modified Mustang too easily 😉 )

Site Owner Guy.Hi M_Coupe,
Once I finish coding up the extended Gallery stuff I’ll be posting here to let everyone know! Stay tuned!A.

Site Owner Guy.There was no avatar problem, you’d entered them fine and then simply not selected them from the list 😉

Site Owner Guy.Derek and Steve are scoping the venue this long weekend, We’ll then work out race plans and the like.
I may (repeat may) be bringing along a “DingoTimer” if it comes together in time so we could have fully computer managed scoring/lap timing etc. Ofcourse the “DingoTimer” is still being developed for it’s original use and we haven’t seent he start of R/C development yet.

Site Owner Guy.The script sends me an e-mail and lets me know who wants a gallery – it does some basic checks of your posting status against the main DB and things like that.
I then approve the Gallery creation manually. I’ll double check the page flows today once I get on top of work (and gallery creation) as I’ve been PC-less for 4 days!

Site Owner Guy.Easy – you will change the pic in the forums – not an ideal situation but I’m working on a fix for that 😉

Site Owner Guy.Jamie – I’d pop mine apart and snap a phot but it’s packed while I move….
Will try to do it over the weekend 😉

Site Owner Guy.Oh I agree about serious racers – just dunno if Australia has enough serious racers to team up for it 😉

Site Owner Guy.*grins* I like that idea!
*goes off into a blitz of coding*
Me thinks I make a “ausmicro.com Sights and Scenes” page where you can upload pics of ausmicro.com promo items (shirts, logos etc) in strange and wonderful places.
The same page will display thumbnails and high-res version of everyones pics along with a caption?
*sighs* Might be a few days into the next couple of weeks before its up but I like the idea 😉

Site Owner Guy.I think you’d be better looking at a “Relay Race” type format where you have teams with say 3 cars but only one car/driver combo is allowed out at once. It means that people get time to fix cars, there’s less wear and tear on individual cars and people can work within set preferences.
I’d start at a 60 minute race first with some basics like no car/driver may do more than 40 minutes on track. Maximum of 3 stints on track per car. Mods restricted to running stock battery type and location, stock or Kyosho only motors, gearing and suspension unrestricted, single tyre set unless tyre lost due to damage.
By working in the 60 minute time the process could be worked out, it’s a _long_ time and the basic rules could then be adapted to suit longer time periods.

Site Owner Guy.I’ll try – however I’ll be offline from about 6pm today until some time on Sunday/Monday (possibly even Tuesday) as I’m moving house.
If I’m offline during that time then I’ll miss the same notice 🙁

Site Owner Guy.To quote our ISP…
—-
Hi All, xxxxxxx has *major* problems, the resolution will require a complete backup/restore of the system.Affected customers will be notified in advance of this work – we expect it to be carried out within the next 7 days and is expected to take approx 24-48 hours.
We realise that the quality of service has been poor due to this ongoing issue, rest assured we do have a sense of ‘fair play’ and wish to compensate for this outage. Customers will be contacted accordingly.
—-I know this has been the case since we moved to a gruntier server during last year. The new server has been a problem for them with odd crashes and the like. I belive once they sort them we will be running faster and better than ever.
When this downtime occurs I will keep ausmicro.com down a little longer to do some major DB/code interaction updates to improve our processing speed as well.
