Nope, i don’t got any experience with spraypaint. But i have painted some wood 😛
Hi ppl,
I am new to this forum and found out here: http://www.microrccenter.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=10857&st=15 that you are talking about track timing systems. The last few days I was thinking about one too, and your PIC solution sounds pretty cool to me trash, I was thinking in the same way actually, until I found an IC.
That is the HT12A from Holtec. http://www.holtek.com.tw/english/products/remote_1.htm With that IC you can put an 8-bit adress and a 4-bit dataline, it will make a serial code of it and modulate it on 38kHz (that’s the A version, not the E). That output signal you can easily connect to an IR-LED. With an TSOP1738 IR Reciever, it will demodulate your IR signal to a serial output. This you can connect to a HT12D (detector) and when you put the right adress on the HT12D (the same adress as on the sender), the HT12D will see the data that you have put on the sender, which can be a Car_ID. If you connect that data signal to a parallel port of a computer and with the right software (SlotMan f.e.) you will have a timing system.
Of course you will have to add a 555 timer to the Tx (sender), to make some ‘room’ for other TX’s (with multiple cars), but it will never be bulletproof, you just redruce the chance your Tx’s to transmit togheter.
The thing I don’t like about this system is the overkill, I mean you will transmit like 12bits + some control bits for just max 10 cars, so 4 bits with some control bits would be more than enough, so finding a different modulator/decoder would be nice.Greetz,
HaCoPS.: I never tested the system, just thought about it.
i know about the double tapping in order to reverse and it still doesnt work.
I’ve also tried the throttle trim and that doesnt do anything either. Even if i put the trim to reverse maximum it stays still. Im pretty sure there is a faulty connection inside the controller because when the car goes on its own crazy reversing sprees then i can reverse using the trigger. Thanks anyways for the help guys. I ll ring around to see if there are any stores that will repair it.Hi, martw
I just had the exactly same problem as you on Iwaver transmitter. I put the Futaba battery pack without checking polarity and blowed up the 1702N transister.I admit my mistake, but they should not use Futaba connecter and switch the polarity, I guess.
I tried to replace 1702N with a NPN transister and changed all the chemical capacitors, but still have no luck yet.
Thanks Priest, that is excellent.
“May your diff remain ever lubed and your ballraces shiny.”
P.S. I will post when I manage to source a replacement just in case anyone else is as stupid as me!
Thanks,
Martw.

Ohh, and btw. Im in Melbourne, are there places to actually foind these Mini-Z’s, or are they only online? Also, which type of the Mini-Z are the best, the MR-02?
Hmm, Mini-Zs are starting to look the way to go. Hop-ups are Mods yes? Ive actually seen ur gallery before, i luv it! How quick can these things get, and how much am i looking at spending on a single Mini-Z, to get it pretty quick?
Thanks heaps for the reply!realli? that would be absolutely unreal! is there any way i could contact u?
Yeh it was all working before i screwed with it ehehehe… but one problem bfore i did anything was that the car had heaps of grip turning right… but would spin out going left
thanks for that which one are you planning on getting
Toyeast doesn’t seem to have the lxx super perfection cars in supply right now. Does anyone know why? I could only find one other supplier that sells Lxx cars on the internet and they are located in the netherlands…paying the same amount in shipping for a car I intend to use for cheap donor parts in the first place definately doesn’t seem worth it. If any of you guys happen to stumble accross another supplier I’d appreciate it if you posted their information in this thread.
If all else fails, I suppose I’ll stick to the dime-a-dozen rx2/tx2 based cars…:dead:
Thanks,

Thank you for the quick reply. The link you posted gives me the answer I have been looking for. The RX6/TX6 chip seems to have two extra channels I can use to drive a servo. I don’t know if you have personally used a car with the RX6/TX6 chip but if you could direct me to an online store that sells them I would appreciate it. The closest I could find was: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=44025&item=5904389527&rd=1&ssPageName=WD1V
It is the same seller PH2T bought his off of but it is on Ebay and the guy’s english is less than perfect. :dead: Are these the right cars? Also, do you know what frequency they run at? I’m in the U.S. and only 27mhz and 49mhz are legal…even though I know with the range on these things it doesn’t really make a difference I’d still like to know, if you have the information.
Thanks,

Glad ya like the review, the Iwaver is an awesome package for the money:D
With regards to the FG, I’ll try and post some pics and info 2moz.
But for now there is a great forum at….
http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/forumid_234/tt.htm
You’ll find tons of info, pics and a few vids there:smiley2:
mat
why not get a kyosho?
FW-05T is a good package. Its all good i just got a new speedie today.
Thanks merc-blue. I was thinking i could get replacement parts from jaycar?
Anybody please!!!!
I’ve seen this thing go… (I have its twin) it’s a weapon for something with a stock motor. I can only imagine what it’ll do with a low-turn modified. Probably achieve escape velocity.
Is it known if Nelly will work on the Iwaver 04?
