For a micro-t, does the Spider v4 install the same as the version 3?

Found the perfect solution for lap timing R/C cars!

After Googling for “Transponders” the following company appears (with no Australian distributors listed)

    http://www.lapz.com

Anyone seen or heard of these?

    I want 1 !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have a new question. Why is it I can only find 2.4ghz conversion kits for the ma-010 and mr-02. It doesn’t seem to be any larger then a regular board will it not fit in an f1? does the f1 use a different servo? Just curious I probably wont be going the 2.4ghz route but it was an interesting idea.

Thanks for the info. I figure its going to be too fast for me but I just want to see how fast I can make one go and tone it down from there lol. If the nelly fits there the new spider should be easy to fit I think.

Thanks for the information. The new 4.0 should be easy to make room for. I was tempted to mount it almost into the air scoop on the body but I am fairly sure that is the best and one of the only sources of air flow for the motor and I want to keep it ventilated because the Atomic Chili gets HOT. Almost melted an evo xmod motor holder. Still not sure if I am going to use the aaa lithium batteries wired into 2s2p or not. I have them sitting around doing nothing but they just might make an uncontrollable F1 mated w/ the Chili and spider. Opinions? I drive in a big open wood floor gymnasium traction can be an issue but area isn’t too bad. Actually my ma-010 seemed a little slow in that big of an area and it had fully hopped up drive train except stock motor w/ neo magnets w/ high speed gear set.

Ive been thinking about that. Does anyone know if the spider is still commercially available?

Thanks guys. I really appreciate the feedback.

given 3 resistors, R1 R2 and R3, connected in parallel the total resistance, Rt, follows the equation

    1/Rt=1/R1 + 1/R2 + 1/R3

if you have a 2×2 stack of 50 ohm FETs the effective resistance would be
    1/Rt = 1/50 + 1/50
    1/Rt = 2/50
    Rt = 25 Ohm

    hope this helps!

Klims, the resistance equation helped greatly.
That brings the approx FET stack resistance to 29 mOhms with a 2×2 stack arrangement. Formidable is what that is, when compared to the 450 mOhms of the stock FETs. That being said I think Im going with 2×2 (x2) and a straight swap on the third car.

Traveler, Ive had the 9934 FETs for a while, but I intend to buy some SP8M4s once Ive made use of them. I had no idea they were out till a few weeks ago.

Aaron, you da man. I had a feeling I should have posted my inquiries here first. Cheers for the awesome ebay deals as well…

So the last questions would be:
What motors or wind count would a 29 mOhm (2×2) stack tolerate @ 7.4V?
    PN anima? PN Xeric?

What motors or wind count would a 58 mOhm (1×2) stack tolerate @ 7.4V?
Im guessing I could probably run a Speedy07BB with neos at 7.4V and still be safe unless I stall with the throttle pulled for a while.

What is the relationship between the resistance and current capacity of the FETs? Does the 29 mOhms of the 2×2 stack translate to a figure in terms of current?

Im a pain in the arse, I know. – mech

    Hello all,

I started using FETs SM8M4 in my shop and on my own MiniZ this past three months. On my MA010 a put a stack of 3X2 setup to find it performed better then the board I replaced that had 4562 which were 4X2 setup. I had much better throttle response them before and more speed and less heat at the FETs. I put them to a test on the complete line of PN Racing motors from FS stock to the Xeric and the Anima II and the pass with flying speed. I went to my box and brought out a Minizworkshop 21T motor and put it thought its paces and still no problem. I tested the complete Atomic line of motor the old the and the Stock R , and Chile and the did great. From test done before in the past years I can say their was a 2 to 4 percent increase in speed with the new FETs. This motor I would not try it unless I had 4X2 of 4562 This now much better they are. I wish I did not have as many 4562 left in stock in shop. I will never buy 4562 again and a few months ago it was the only FETs I would stock for Mini Zs. For a long time and you can ask Aaron I was bought a lot of Spiders from him. Because how good they were I stop stacking FETs on my customer cars I built for them. Well I am stacking FETs again a least on Mini Z and only a 2X2 stack on Gen1s because the SP8M4 are that good.

And this was not a sponsor endorsement this was my way to help Aaron letting people Know how good there are.

If it were mine I keep the Spider or Bug for the Gen1 because you can not put more then two fets on the board because any more you will keep ripping then off. I know because I try a stack of three no my Gen1. The next thing it is a lot of work making a Spider look good on a MiniZ. Both of my MiniZ have SP8M4 in a stack of three. I run every motor you have in your list of motors with no problem. Do not get me wrong on another forum I saw a person do a great install on a MiniZ. He did a great job and he must have been a master person on soldering and the lay out work. I have installed a lot of Spider on Gen1 and EVO and I can get them to look OK.

    I hope I help
