got some more alloy coolness to inspire yous all, made an air scoop for my ferrari. it works really well, channelling air directly onto the motor which gets nice and warm with the fets and nicads:shock:
pics don’t work? try here http://www.geocities.com/bettyk3332003/gallerymyrides.html:8ball:got some more alloy coolness to inspire yous all, made an air scoop for my ferrari. it works really well, channelling air directly onto the motor which gets nice and warm with the fets and nicads:shock:

i’m getting a forbidden message. nice work with the test though. it would be an accurate method of checking actual running speed:8ball:

huh?! what in the holy bajeezus are you on about?!:8ball:
actually wood is fantastic, ph2t’s wooden pan chassis is plenty strong. i think he used a toungue depresser, but it’s only 1 – 1.5mm thick. paddle pop sticks would be good too, easy to work with, readily available. just use quality super glue:8ball:

sounds good. at this scale plexiglass should be fine and offer a little flex. have a look at ph2t’s quad cell monster, he’s basically made a pan chassis out of wood and if you look closely at the pics you’ll see how he attached the steering assembly. perspex can crack though so drill and cut it carefully. i doubt it will break in use though but if you notice any cracks in it then they will only get bigger, so scrap it and start again:8ball:

mmmmmm!! wrap your lips around shaq’s mr big!:D:8ball:
as micro amps mentioned f1 is available on tomy booster pcb’s, but not connected. i got ph2t to show me how to connect it and it’s simple to do.
for the tomy controller, the same chip is used so wire up a switch to f1 as explained by ph2t. (and you can wire up f2 on a tomy tx which will control f2 on lxx booster rx’s of the same frequency.)in the pic below i’ve marked 5 solder pads with yellow dots which have nothing connected. i’m told the left 2 are for a resistor and the remaining 3 are for a transistor (any ideas as to exactly what sort?). solder a short piece of wire across the 2 pads which are circled in red.
so if you want to connect an led to f1, you would connect + to f1 (circled in red) and – to v- (GND)
if you’re getting the red x treatment http://www.geocities.com/bettyksprivatestash/tomyboosterf1.htmlit’s only 1 extra channel but that’s 1 more than none!:8ball:

cool, looks like a lotta fun! and very professional too:smiley2: although at that price it would be a group investment which aint so bad. you couldn’t have a great track like that and not hold races on it!:p:8ball:

i really should come back with a smartarse comment like “starts with d and rhymes with dill!!” ……..but i won’t:D
i just marked the holes using a little packet from some surface mount components and used a small drill bit:8ball:aww shucky darn! thankew verrymuch! dunno what the prize is, but i’ll bet they’re a little nervous about handing over a fancy shell when they find out what i do to my bits!!:evil:he he! and don’t fergit i whupped some skippy butt at the same time! two birds, one stone:8ball:
ha ha!!:Dthis is turning out to be a good value post! i’d like to say thanks but you guys got it wrong, the top pic is what i’ve done to the car in the bottom pic! (steps back to hear the jaws drop!) yup, the first pic is what i’m looking at NOW and the second was taken THEN, after i just built it!
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! and here’s the punchline, i just won a brand new shell in a comp at rcmod.com.

but has anyone noticed the correlation between american conflict and our changing news service?when america invaded iraq in ’91 we got the cnn news overnight and other american news programs late at night.
then s11 gave us the ticker tape constant updates at the bottom of our screens.
the next iraq invasion brought us the 4:30 news on ch 7 followed by the “just in case” 6:00 news
anyone else got one?:8ball:
no, red x bit face!:8ball:
what do you mean by static? and every tomy motor i’ve had has never skipped a beat, except that one i tried to hard wire and ended up melting the end cap! doh!:8ball:
canabits, that’s brilliant man! i wanna make a set for my monster, just need to clarify a couple of things. by mineral spirits do you mean metholated spirits or mineral turpentine? and at the end of this process can you remove the tyres from the wheels? can’t wait to try these out:p:8ball:
well count me in:approve:
re stickers, how about just sorting out an a4 size high res image available for download? i mentioned it earlier, that way you can go down to your local printers with a disk and get it done on the laser printer. you can choose what to print on, i think you can even get clear transfer sheets to print on. honestly, that’s all you need to do, and maybe some other images for download, perhaps more track barriers, some backdrops for photos. you could even hold a contest for budding designers out there, there’s plenty of ideas peeps out there:8ball:just make sure you spread it reeeeel thick on yer toast!:D:8ball:
