it’s like totally a thing! hobbyking is definitely the place to look or if on a budget check out banggood.com, good prices on a lot of racer and fpv stuff. don’t cut corners on monitor equipment, go hard on the hi-def stuff, you’ll be glad you did! :8ball:

the iwaver 02 (as opposed to the 02m) will take the same parts as a kyosho mini z mr02, you could try rc kennon for that stuff.

the bigfoot though may find you shopping locally (vic), try gigspeed

nimh batteries will give you the best bang for your buck. go for the energizer, duracell or eneloop cells available in supermarkets. :8ball:

the track to the side was a practice oval.

man, that was the best event yet! even though i had the worst mechanical day ever!!

first i broke the kingpin mount on my chassis, new main chassis required. thankfully wing wong had a spare laying around!

i managed to do the changeover between heats then i rolled in my 2nd heat and got t-boned on the straight. i noticed something weird with my steering and at the end of the heat discovered a broken h plate.

3rd heat, my steering was buggered. i knew the servo gears needed a clean so i pulled the steering apart and cleaned the servo gunk. i thought that would be the end of it all.

put it back together, no steering!! during the servo gear clean i broke a servo pot wire. i missed the 4th heat!! son of a thingo!!!11!!

normally when i get together with ph2t he’s the one who has neverending mechanical problems. this time around i suffered every problem i never had.

but it was the best meet we’ve ever had!!!!:D

interstate? intercontinental? no excuse!! get your arse down to the next burn city mini z or die!!!11!!!! :8ball:

p.s. foam tyres are the best tyres i’ve ever used on this track! i’ll never look back!

what you see is a 50mah lipo from an ir helichopper. you’ll have to add a charging plug and a switch. :8ball:

i’ve got one of those too, been a while since i did a single cell but from memory it charged them fine.

maybe try discharging the cell hard like using a light globe then see how it charges. i’ve found the 500ma discharge rate doesn’t really kick the cell into knowing it’s gonna be used if you grt my meaning. :8ball:

not a lot of people, about 8 of us racing. as it was the first time it was more of a practice run but still tons of fun! :8ball:

that was an awesome day, well worth the 2 hours it took to set up!

my legs were killing me a couple of days later from all that crawling around!

big thanks to whtang and all the gigspeed crew for spending 10 million dollars on a real rcp track!:D :8ball:

as for the name, in the illeagal bike race scene we call melbourne “burn city” as in melburn.

so how’s “burn city mini z” sound?

track layout? i don’t care, just so long as we get a meaty straight to show off our modified rigs!:D :8ball:
