I would try and get them to send you some current detailed photos (including the transmitter and reciever) of it, check for any damage, they might have crashed it and are trying to hit you up for a refund. If there is no damage, try posting the photos here on ausmicro, someone here may be able to spot something outwardly wrong with it.

Hmmm, thanks for the heads up merc-blue, just curious to know how the power supply would blow up? it seems to be supplying a constant 12v’s and the swallow doesnt even get warm.

I just recently got the swallow advance, it;s versatile and reasonably future proof.

You can build a 12v Dc power supply from an old pc if you have one lying around rcbatteryclinic has a guide on how to build one.

I also wired in an old pc fan to cool the batteries and to blow away those tasty solder fumes when soldering.

Of course it wouldnt cost that much to send, either he just wants the extra $$ or he’s made a typo.

He doesnt state the shipping price in the auction so i guess he’s entitled to charge whatever he wants…it mighta been a good idea to email him about the shipping costs before you bid.

Did you get the Swallow Advance Bet.k? I just got one recently and i did some 7.2v nicds yesterday,a couple were about 400ma over and i thought that was odd..lol.
I cant seem to charge my 800 aaa’s any faster than 100ma otherwise they false peak after a couple of minutes, not sure if my batts have had it or if the chargers at fault. Getting some sanyos tommorow, will see if it works then

Stinky is one ugly robot, made of crudely painted, cheap plastic pipes stuck with foul-smelling glue – hence the name….
hehe… Thats a great story,I can see a “feel good”geek movie done from this one.
