Id love a brushless system, NO MAINTAINENCE, motor maintainence is a pain in the ass, a car that is reliable, never fails is great, but when it constantly fails (the F&*$en GH2), its horrible, i got so mad with my hopped i kicked it and chucked it as far as i could, i.e. i would spend a couple of days fixing it, then after a 30 sec run it was all over, back to square 1. This happened many times until i lost my tether….and got sweet revenge, which was very stupid, broke the back gearbox-chassis mounts….

Tell me about it, my Plasma Dash motor in the Z takes about 5-10 runs before it needs to have the comm polished, and the brushes re-seated.

Even though i dont shave the comm, Performance bounces back just as good as before.

I’m sure i could make a small comm lathe…. it cant be that hard, right??

Whats the point of me getting one though, its a waste really, i’d probably wreck it.

    What i really want is a middle-range 1/10 car….preferrably tamiya.

Ive got my Kyosho Mini Z upto 58km/h on the M 4wd speed checker.

I am gonna have another go at RE-RE-REincarnating 🙂 my GH2 for a bit of a laugh again. I managed to acquire some chunky tyres and lots of bits, so why not??

My old tyres are going to have small bolts installed like “spikes” so i can actually drive it off road. When i get sick of it ill chuck it on the road and see if the tyres spark 🙂

With the extra grunt and bald tyres it wouldnt move on grass, and would promptly fall into “DONUT MODE” on dirt.

On gravel though…i guess it was better, sprayed lots of rocks around, a bit risky with parked cars around, even cars ~10m away werent safe.

Damn fine work he’s done. I’d love to see the vid, or more photos too.

Is that all you can say?? I just wish i could zap myself down to 1:3 scale.

DSE used to have 1 farad (1,000,000 uF) 5v supercapacitors for like 9 bux. Thats the one i am after.

Yeah i know you gots to wire it across the batts, cause if you wired it across the motor it would because it would have less efect andprobably blow the ESC.

I added a 5th cell to my Z. I mounted it between the motor pod and chassis, a few minor dremels and theres plenty of clearance.

My 5th cell is connected to a small piece of double sided PCB, which slots between the battery contact on the car’s right side.

Can ya get hold of a booster cap GT-Ahh?

OKAY i love these to bits already but…….

For 100 bucks, i’d want something good.

    -Do they have proportional throttle??

-Have you opened them up? If so what is the running gear?

-Do they turn at low speed without tipping over?

    -What style is the Tx?

    -Is it worth it?

-do they lean right over when turning??

-Is the tyre traction any good??

    Thanks man.

Yeah it does suck eh, but mine was quite fun with a 14×2 double wind motor.

I might just get mine going again, then strip the goodies out of it.

Really need a new 1/10 car….Tamiya TB Evolution III Surikarn Limited Edition….mmmmmmmm

If the two largest battery companies in the world can’t do it, i doubt anyone can.

The highest capacity batteries jaycar has is 800mAh.

I can’t get hold of a booster cap, DSE said that they had ‘discontinued’ it.

GT-ahh, will a 6×2 stack of fets handle 5 cells with a plasma dash??

Blueprint is a great colour too. Thinking about any performance mods?? UniChip make a system that gives an additional 90kw to the XR6 T.

Throttle control plays a big part, and since bits are all or nothing throttle it makes drifting very hard indeed. Mini Z or bigger is king for drifting, though mini z’s do suffer from torque steer.

A lot of people buy cars by choosing the shell, not the hardware within. Tamiya TL01 is a good chassis, with plenty of hop-ups, readily available spares, and of course the tamiya reliability and quality.

Remember, the shell will get scuffed alot if you race, and driving around on the streets will also see alot of shell damage, and mechanical breakages. Trust me, give your car a boot and its quite easy to send it into a gutter, for street driving, try and find out what the most durable car is.
