Mocky,
No I don’t sell batteries.
If you’re after some decent batts you can get Powertechs from Jaycar Electronics. The AAA 800mah cost $3.15 each. I also use the Kingcell AA alkaline batts for the TX, a pack 24 costs about $11
Jaycar have a store in york st. behind the Queen Victoria Building.
Quote:So, dare I ask about numbers this weekend? Talldude; you’re busy, if I remeber rightly… Kevsta; see you there? (btw. gaff tape is in my bag NOW, and will stay there this time…!)I thought this thread was finally dead.
I should be okay for this weekend but will confirm later on in the week. Didn’t really get my rc-fix from last Sunday… and I think I got my handling whoes sorted now; just needed a little more slip in the diff… and that extra power that I’m getting from my x-speed…:D
You interested in some of that foamy stuff ? I can check out that place on Sunday morning to see if they’ve got any decent amounts left.
My soldering iron is one of those dick smith specials which is about 15 years old now but thats because the elect eng course required you to get one of them.
Just out of curiosity, don’t threads like this open yourself up to legal problems ?
I know on another forum that I visit, you can’t say anything bad about a commercial business for risks of being sued for defamation…loss of business etc….
I’ve had some weird things happen when paying with a cc and not getting it past the verification process… But it all worked out okay.
I got a feeling he won’t be able to keep up with my x-speed motor. I’ve been tuning it all week now and I’ve pretty much got it all sorted – runs as smooth and silent as Geo’s.
Icebreaka, once you take your first drive of a mini-z the bitchar-gs just end up back in their boxes. As for being worth it – I think it is – propo steering makes it so much better. I have never looked back since…
Quote:LOLYes i am coming woo hoo~
Kev what do you mean my little honda is the same size as your ferrai LOLTimmy, we’re all eagerly waiting to see the drags between you, Geo-z and dgs73 mini-zs..:smiley16:
As for building the track – you can do it. But what time are you coming ? Just don’t make it too late 😀
Oh, and don’t forget to bring the camera and money. :smiley16:
Dude what a shame you can’t make it this Sunday, even young Timmy has said that he is coming. You’ll miss out on all the action from his little honda.
What time is everyone getting there this Sunday ? I think it’ll take us about 30-45 minutes to setup track…
..and I hope everyone brings more than one set of batteries…

I’ve just did a direct deposit into your account at a cba branch.
Thanks 🙂
Please put me down for a yellow ferrari 355 and silver r34 shell.
Thanks.
Yeah Betty’s way sounds good…
If this goes through, then please put me down for a yellow ferrari 355 i-waver shell and a blue skyline i-waver shell.
I’ve noticed the x-speed motors have gone up in price. They use to be cheap at $9usd but are now at $14. For that price, I’d personally be visiting http://www.minizworkshop.com for a bb can one, but that’s me.
I’m just curious on how shipping be worked out on this ? Will it be divided equally amongst all buyers or will it be worked out depending on weight of each buyers purchases.
Say for example, I buy two i-waver body shells that weigh a total of 600 grams, and someone else buys an i-waver ready set weighing 1.5kgs, clearly the i-waver ready set would have a higher shipping cost than the 2 body shells. Now if shipping is divided equally amongst all buyers, the two body shells would work out more expensive ?
How is this going to work ?
Quote:Kevsta: Cut them down the middle and then you will have less of a problem sticking them down.
i.e turn them into half pipes then you will have a flat side to work with and the end result being 40 X 2…Pete,
Can’t cut it in half, I had another look at this stuff and its about 2.5cm high… Big test on Sunday to see if it works.. or not.
🙂Cool, you got gaffa/cloth tape ! Bring two rolls just to be safe, I’ve got a feeling the masking tape ain’t going to hold it to the court surface and it needs to be taped down say very 30-40 cms.
When laid on the ground this stuff is about 3cm high, unfortunately round like a pvc pipe but lengths are around 2 metres each. You can flex this stuff to make your own curves and bends if you tape it down securely just like the track photo that Talldude posted.
Anyway, Sunday will be a good test to see if it’s any good.
Anyone got some carpet overruns they want to bring ?
Anyone want to come up with a track design ?
Basically, it’s 20 x 2 metre long strips if that helps…
Anything happening this weekend 20/06 at m’bank dudes ?
I’ve got some white foam strips from the reverse garbage place, 40 metres of it for only $5 – these are guaranteed Z friendly.
Only problem is that you’ve got to use heaps of gaffa tape to hold it down.
Hey dude,
Whats better for drifting, hpi micro rs4 or xray m18 ? Also, which one is of better quality and has a wider range for hot up parts.
Thanks.
I just finished cleaning it, put the paper shim behind the variable resistor and the twitch in the steering is gone on full throttle !
Thanks man. you da best.
More like $159 on special and they only have VWs.
For some strange reason they had this one only metallic blue ferrari 355 autoscale body the other day.
Got the 104 cap on between the motor terminals. Looks like it has improved it but will need to run it full throttle in a straight line for 30 metres or so to find out.
Drive motor has the 103s on it – x speed motor.
Yeah what about using the plastic from a old credit card or and ice cream container.
At the hardware store you can buy those small sheets of brass or copper – can’t remember the material but its bronze coloured – could do well for a metal h-plate. (should be in the same section where you find piano wire and small sized metal tubing).
Didn’t someone also use the sliding metal protective cover of a 3.5 inch floppy disk to create a metal h-plate ?

AM Band 4 is now free for all. I’m using the yeah racing crystal set from Talldude and it rocks – less interference, but that could just be me.
I can swear my z handles much better now.. well on floor tiles it does.
I’ve found floor boards too slippery, and tiles as well particulary when they get a bit of dust on them.
Best thing to do is get some foam mats and lay it down – best traction I’ve found so far.
I’ve also got my rear wheels sitting flat now with o-plate that I’m using… foam tape comes in handy :).

I haven’t tried the new crystals, might have to give them a go tonight some time – but thanks for selling a set to me…cheap too !
Long weekend coming – woo hoo.
